We have recently become Jersey Mike's fans and love how we can get four meals out of their Giant size sub. We needed small two lunches for two for a trip on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and the team in the shop in Kitty Hawk did a great job at creating our Italian sub--even with us putting different toppings on both halves. First, we went here 2 times for carry out after big beach days in Duck. Both times the staff was energetic, connecting, helpful, and we left feeling like we almost made friends. Compare this to an average Subway where you feel like the workers are generally - not always - just waiting to go home. Team packed up a couple of Giants - did so with some custom asks and got a "right on! We got you!" Instead of a typical "huh?" Refreshing!!!! So good we went back 3 days later round 2. They were ever good enough to put The Juice on the side in some pre maid containers for adding the magic at home without soggy break on the 10 minute drive home. By far, the best place we've found to eat in the Outer Banks our entire trip, and we tried a bunch of local restaurants only to be disappointed by them all. This place is clean, the ingredients are fresh, and the workers seem to care about what they're doing. They also serve you what they tell you they're going to serve you and not subbing out cheaper ingredients for the more expensive ones listed on their menu. I can't say the same about the other restaurants we tried to eat at. Do yourself a favor and skip all those high priced, uncaring, and simply mediocre at best restaurants where the quality of the food doesn't match the price your being charged for it. This place nails that, and their competition in the area doesn't even come close. read more

Love their Philly Cheese Steak but the service was AWFUL!! I was the only one in line and was not acknowledged for about 10 min while the guy was doing everything except take my order. First time at this Jersey Mikes. I tried the one in Nags Head before and it was good. I tried the Chipotle Philly cheesestake after I ordered online. Could not have worked out better. Placed my order by phone. Was told it would take about 40 minutes because they were out of bread. I said no problem and placed order. When I got there the girl had no record of my order. There was only two other people in the store. She said "we must have lost it." My order was then rushed and was only half warm. Really good subs but staff could use a refresher course in handling customers and their orders. read more

The long and short of it is... me: where are the plastic straws? All I see are paper ones. Girl: I'm sorry sir we're out of them. Me: but the paper ones fall apart. Manager: and they cost 10 times more too! Me: then why even bother having them?!? Manager: because you have to play the game here on the Outer Banks. me: then why not have both and let your customers decide which one they want? Manager: we do we're just out of the plastic ones right now. me: then haven't your customers obviously decided? Clearly they don't want the paper straws... I rate businesses on my overall experience and whether or not I enjoyed my time in there establishment. I did not enjoy my time at this Jersey Mike's. I do not like chewing my drink. When they are done "playing games" and get back to the business of offering the best products they can, then my review may go back up. Very disappointed with the level of customer service. The store was short staffed, we began placing our order, half way through making the subs we were informed that they could not make one of the 6 subs we ordered because it was gluten free and they were going to first complete the on-line orders they had and they could not finish our order until after. When asking how long it would take the answer was maybe 30 minutes or longer. As we tried to determine what we were going to do as a family since we now had 5/6 subs I asked what the best way to handle waiting, do we pay? Do we wait and then need to get back in line? ???! What would you like us to do? The only response we were given was I guess that is up to you to decide, I have on-Line orders that I need to look after. Always like the food here, just very surprising and disappointed the way they handled the situation. It was quit obvious they were hoping we would leave so they did not need to clean to make the rest of our order. They were not very nice about it either. Suggestion: if you can't serve one of your menu items post it so people can make a decision before waiting in line and delaying the rest of the customers orders and having a very disappointed young lady with no sandwich and an overall awkward situation to deal with. read more
