I have to show some love to the tried and true, A1 since day 1, ever faithful...Jersey Mike's. There's nothing spectacular about them, it's like most of the other stores that belong to this chain. What I appreciate is the consistency. The rosemary focaccia bread is dense enough for all the fillings, and won't get soggy right away. Not even during transit if you choose delivery. The meats are tasty, toppings fresh, and they always provide a generous amount of napkins. Tasty. Dependable. Affordable. Ordered a Veggie Sub as a delivery order. Jersey Mike's is not Jimmy John's. Because they're my favorite sandwich shop, the bar is set pretty high in my book. Their veggie sub was alright, filled with lettuce, tomato, onions, peppers, and cheese. The bread was soft, and the veggies were fresh with a nice crunch from the green pepper. However, I was not impressed by the lack of flavor. They need a special sauce to enhance the taste. Even a little salt, pepper, or vinegar might do the trick. read more

Once again, we went to Jersey Mike's and we were vastly disappointed. The Sub rolls, and the wraps are STALE. The Cheese was hard and stale. The subs are delicious and packed. If you like meat its sliced to order, if you want veggies they have them. Hot or cold. The staff is always friendly. The subs are reasonably priced. I have tried several different subs both steak and cheese options, italian cold cut, and the chicken sub. All of them satisfy. The place has seating and 2 TVs. A Pepsi station(not behind the counter). Also brewed tea. The place is always clean, no messy tables or floors. If your in the neighborhood, stop in. Parking is plenty, no meters. I have loved Jersey Mike's for a long long time. I was very excited to see a location pop up right by my family's house! The kids who work here are always super funny and energetic. I came here on a Tuesday night with my fiance. This location is close to Wheaton Mall and super easy to find. There was a line of about four people ahead of us, but the staff were great with getting us in and out quickly. I ordered the Chipotle Cheese Steak to go, which comes with grilled onions, chipotle mayo, cheese and steak. The order was prepared quickly and the staff were friendly. I liked that I could see my order being made. You can add additional toppings to items already on the menu or build yourself a custom sub. I didn't add any additional toppings to my order, I just ordered it without the onions (NOT a fan of onions). I liked the sub, they did not skimp on meat. My only gripe was that there wasn't enough sauce and it was not spread evenly through my sub. Other than that, I was happy with my meal overall. I ordered a #43 and subbed the White American for Provolone. When I arrived back home, I realized while eating the sandwich, that the wrong cheese was used. I drove back to the store to ask for another sandwich to be made. The person on the grill's name was David. He instantly said I was wrong and that the cheese used was Provolone and continued to be rude and whisper and snicker like a child while remaking the sandwich. 'Sliced grilled chicken' was just a dry, tough chicken breast unsliced and covered in a watery ranch sauce with some buffalo sauce. Loosely covered by a tortilla that didn't really 'wrap' anything. Came in for a bite for lunch with a friend. People working there were nice and friendly. Order was taken quickly. My friends cold sub was prepared quickly and I didn't have to wait long for my hot sub. In facts as soon as he was done assembling his sub mine was done. We got 2 fountain drinks. I was pretty excited they had lemon lime Gatorade. The only down side is the table we sat at wasn't wiped off which fine I can do myself. I needed a snack for the Game of Thrones premiere. I ordered the largest stuffed cheesteak they had. It was "huge". Stuffed in wheat bread, steack, cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and green peppers and onions. A hardy meal for a hardy show. It doesn't have a hard crusty exterior, it's more soft, but it retains it's shape well. It has enough body on the inside to soak up sauces and condiments. It's a solid bread. The reason why Jersey Mike's is so good though... and I've thought about this long and hard. It's because they slice their meats fresh to order. Every freakin' sub, they are slicing each meat to order. That mean's if you order the complex Italian sub... they are literally switching out 5 different types of meat on the slicer, and slicing them each fresh to order. It makes ALL the difference. It's a nice thin slice too that melds well with the rest of the ingredients. I'm partial to the turkey and provolone sub with lettuce, tomato, mayo, bacon, and pickles. ... so much so that I've only tried one other thing; the tuna fish ( which is made in house daily). The tuna fish was good... just a little too much mayo for me... but that's bound to happen. I feel like no two people on earth like their tuna fish the same way. It's like a food thumbprint. But yes... Jersey Mike's is delicious, it's fast, and honestly; they train their staff well. 90 percent of the times I've gone, the staff is friendly, and always has a sense of urgency. They are always figuring out how to do things quicker and hopping into each other roles to make the line go quicker. Did I mention the prices are great too! They "giant" turkey and provolone sub is like 13 bucks and is easily enough for two meals. I usually get a giant one and have half for dinner and eat the other half for lunch the next day. I was desperate for some food when I stopped in for. "Philly" cheesesteak. Being from Philadelphia I am always fearful of ordering a cheesesteak outside of the Philly metro area but as I said I was pretty hungry. Fortunately Mikes came through. The Cheesesteak was pretty good for Maryland. Still need a better Steak roll but At least you called it a cheesesteak and not the typical backwards MD version of Steak and Cheese. I would like to recommend this place to my Maryland friends as a passable version of a cheesesteak but unfortunately the place was so dirty that I was wondering what else I might get with my Steak. The grill was so nasty that I almost didn't order (but again risked it due to hunger). The cook didn't clean the grill before she cooked my steak but scraped it during...interesting technique to say the least. They receive 1 star for being totally unorganized and rude. There is this woman with an accent who is interfering and confusing everyone, she yells and is not understandable. The place for pickup orders is not where the sign was, I waited for my pickup up time and the order wasn't there and then they said you have to go up front and I waited at least 15 minutes before asking again for my order. They couldn't locate it. I requested a refund, I was told to go back to where the pickup orders were and they said you have to go back to the front. I said I just came from there to the guy who told me to go back to the front. That rude person came and said I am not yelling and I wasn't talking to you, she said you had chicken sub I said no, she threw a bag at me across the counter. She is lucky it didn't hit me. I said I want a refund and she refused. She said we don't have to refund anything.I started a dispute about the charge. Don't do online orders with these people. Came in and the entire place was packed! I went during opening day with a coupon - free sub with a $1 donation to a charity. I wanted a hot sub but the coupon was only for cold subs - which by the way was not mentioned on the coupon. The wait was long for obvious reasons but the food was great. I had the turkey breast cold sub with tomato, lettuce, red wine vinegar and olive oil blend, and banana peppers. It was so good and so fresh. They're meats they cut on the spot. They have a slicer which they use when you place an order. The meat is placed back on the case ones they cut you a few slices. The hot sub however took forever to cook. Since there was a long line the sub did not come out maybe 10-15 minutes later. Since you had to wait for the hot sub, you had to wait in the lobby. The seats are limited so the best option is to stand you don't take the seats for people who are dining in. For my second time eating Jersey Mike's I just ordered online. Ordering online is fairly easy - probably the easiest process ever. You just pick the location then place your order. You pick the size, the bread, the toppings, and whatever extra things you want. I had the sub in a tub this time - it's basically like a Chipotle but with sub ingredients. I liked the idea because it was easy to eat and if you are watching your weight, you get all the sub toppings minus the carbs from the bread. read more

The sandwiches are so good. Love Jersey Mikes. We stopped at this Jersey Mikes in Wheaton last Saturday April 1st. It was 8:33 pm when we walked in. There was a very nice guy mopping the floor and chairs were up and caution take up to go to the back as in using the bathroom or eating in. We asked if they were closing and the young lady making sandwiches said yes soon but it's okay with not a happy tone and was grumpy the whole time we were there and while she was making our sandwich. My husband asked to go to the bathroom. The guy cleaning the floor hesitated and then said sure. The young lady said you let him use the bathroom? He said yes. So they don't close until 9. Shouldn't the testy be available until then? We were so take back by the young woman's attitude. There was another guy behind the counter. He stayed out of it. We stop here approximately once per month. On our most recent trip, we got three subs in a tub to go. The roast beef was rare and tender, and the tuna salad was fresh tasting and delicious. I have had the turkey wrap and the chicken cheese steak and the food is consistent and good. I have had the wrong cheese a couple of times, and once they forgot the bacon, so make sure you have the correct ingredients. The staff is friendly. It is also nice that they offer gluten free subs in a tub and GF sub rolls, however, there is a lot of cross contamination so not for celiacs. read more

The first incident involved finding half a plastic glove in my sandwich. How does that happen? I don't know, but it was rather unpleasant. The service was great here and that was basically it. Ordered the Big Kahuna Cheese Steak and it was just okay. Though the amount of beef was decent, everything was a mess.
