I asked for a sample of the Jamaican black bean soup. It was really good and although the name said Jamaican, it definitely tasted like chili and was very good. I opted instead too get a turkey Reuben; turkey, melted cheese, Russian dressing and either sauerkraut or coleslaw. I opted for the coleslaw on the side. It was ok. Only ok. I should have stayed with the black bean soup. Our server was terrific. Tall, blonde and used to work at the Isaac's at Queensgate before it closed. Can't think of her name, unfortunately. She's a great server. Everyone seemed happy with their meals. But I think my sandwich could have been improved with more turkey in it. The food is amazing. The soups were sooooo good. The sandwiches look amazing and they even have this awesome fresh cannoli setup! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone. The bad - I am deaf and depend on my hubby to help me in unfamiliar surroundings. I was standing by the food display and said to him out loud "Where do I stand to get service?" as I was reading his lips across the room. The next thing I know a lady behind the counter is chastising me very loudly about how she is with a customer and "WHEN SOMEONE CAN GET TO YOU THEY WILL." It was embarrassing for me, to say the least. I was asking my husband a question and here she is literally chastising me in front of everyone. My husband steps in to say "She's deaf and was asking me" and that's when I went and hid in the last table in the back. I was hoping that I found a place I could go during the week on my own when my husband travels for work. But I doubt I would go there alone after this.

It was barely warm and it tasted like glue. If there was any type of seafood in the soup it was possibly just the bait they were fishing with. As with many places, Firehouse Subs isn't the cheapest place to get a sub, but they are delicious. This one does need a little work, however.
