    Sal's pizza

Sal has New York style pizza. And you can order slices and customize. Their Italian sub sandwiches are a family favorite at our house. I usually get two slices of mushroom & onion! Yumm. Today I ordered a whole pizza with meatballs and onion for a change . It was hot & fresh at my door really quickly. Lucky me

Can't go wrong with a hot ham & cheese sub on a cold, blustery day. Yum!

Delicious subs at Sal's ... the hot ham & cheese is our favorite. Guys here are super friendly and the food is ready quickly. Num-num-num :-)

The mushrooms weren't as uncooked as the onions were, but still could have used more time.

We just ordered for take-out on a Tuesday night. I enjoyed the Italian sub: yummy classic Italian sub roll, loaded with meats and good amount of toppings. The pizza left much to be desired. We opted for the primavera pizza and the onions were practically raw and there was an excessive amount of them. The pizza was soggy from the heavy, wet toppings. The mushrooms were large chunks that also seemed barely cooked. The flavor of the pizza was pretty good and I enjoyed how zesty the pepperoni was, but couldn't get over the cold veggies. I arrived just as they were pulling the pizza from the oven and the house was less than a minute from the shop. To be soggy in that amount of time was odd. The pizza shop looks nice with cute decorations scattered around. The guy who gave me my order was super friendly. I might try it again bc the sub was good, but it all seems a little pricey.

Sal's is my favorite local Italian / pizza place. They have excellent pizzas and hoagies/subs. Also, their French fries are delicious. The best part about Sal's is the friendliness of the owners and staff!

Juice & Java delivered big time. When I walked in, the café was quiet, with just a couple of customers working away on laptops. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, with a perfectly nostalgic 90's soundtrack playing overhead. The café itself is small and quirky, with local artwork for sale adorning the walls--an inviting little space that immediately makes you want to linger. The menu was surprisingly large for such a small spot, and while their coffee selections seemed endless, I skipped the caffeine this time. Instead, I ordered: 4-Cheese Gourmet Grill ($9.95) - Monterey Jack, provolone, American & cheddar, a bowl of Roasted Red Pepper & Gouda Soup ($4.79) and two canned sodas ($1.95 each). The staff were friendly, the tables were spotless, and our food came out quickly. The grilled cheese was generously portioned--easily shareable, with perfectly gooey, melty cheese and plenty of those delightful "cheese dangly bits" that make a grilled cheese worth it. But the real star? That Roasted Red Pepper & Gouda soup. Creamy without being heavy, rich with flavor, perfectly warm, and absolutely made for dunking a grilled cheese. I was so glad I ordered a bowl instead of a cup--I would've been sad if it ended too soon. It was one of the best soup-and-sandwich combos I've had in a long time. All in, our meal was just over $20 with tip--reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. With their great hours (breakfast through dinner, seven days a week), plenty of parking in the strip mall lot, and a menu full of tempting options, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in the area and craving comfort food with a cozy, local vibe--skip the chains and head here.

There are only a few tables, although none were occupied. The hummus and veggie appetizer was a huge disappointment. The hummus was tasty, but unfortunately the potion was only enough for about 1/3 of the veggies. The carrots and celery appeared to be a couple days old by the discoloration. The celery was impossible to dip in the hummus as it was chopped/sliced for a salad. Thankfully, the steak bowl was delicious and the right sized portion. All the ingredients were fresh and very flavorful. It was easy to distinguish between the different flavors. Not sure yet if I will give this place another visit.

He was tall, dirty skinny black pants, very fair complexion. Very good hearing. However, his behavior was very dramatic, arms waving, and very theatrical, and kinda of loud. Recieved our order and was very dissappointed by the amount of corned beef. The layer wasn't even as thick as the very small loaf of pumpernickle bread slice. I thought the sandwich was for a child. It was literally 3¼"s of bread, a spatter of cheese, sauerkraut, and dressing. I asked about the portion of meat in the sandwich because there was hardly any meat in it. I was informed that it's all done by weight. So how much weight, 2 ounces per sandwich. Cost $15.99. As someone who takes peanut butter desserts perhaps a little more seriously than the average human being, I immediately started making a list of the top contenders. Oak Grove Farms kept popping up, so when I found myself with a free rainy Saturday afternoon, it became time for an official Peanut Butter Pie Procurement Mission. Now, Oak Grove Farms offers way more than peanut butter pie. Their farm market is stocked with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, dairy products, locally made items and all kinds of other goodies. But this particular Yelp review? This mission? Laser-focused on peanut butter pie. Before leaving home, I called to make sure I wouldn't drive over only to discover they'd sold out. The nice lady who answered the phone happily confirmed they still had peanut butter pie available. Mission status: ON! When I arrived, I was actually surprised by how busy the farm market was despite the rainy weather. Apparently a little rain isn't enough to keep folks away from Oak Grove, which is always a good sign. I walked straight inside and made an immediate beeline for the refrigerated pie case. There were only two individual slices of peanut butter pie left, so I grabbed one before anyone else could beat me to it. They also had half and whole pies available, but let's try to exercise at least a little self-control on the first visit. The damage? A whopping $2.49 for a slice of peanut butter pie. I actually laughed. That's almost suspiciously affordable these days. As I was heading toward the register, I made the mistake of walking past the whoopie pies. Or perhaps the best decision of the day. Five minutes later, I was walking out with not only my peanut butter pie but also a Shoofly Whoopie Pie for another $2.50. My picnic dessert situation had officially escalated. Fast forward a few hours...dinner was over. It was dessert time. The peanut butter pie absolutely lived up to the hype! The filling was light and fluffy while still delivering a rich peanut butter flavor in every bite. I'm usually not the biggest fan of chocolate cookie crusts on peanut butter pie because I think they sometimes overpower the filling, but this one worked beautifully. Even the little dollops of whipped topping around the edge added just the right finishing touch. This one has officially earned a spot near the top of my Central PA peanut butter pie rankings! And then...the Shoofly Whoopie Pie. I honestly bought it because I'd never seen one before and curiosity got the better of me. And, I'm really glad it did! It was incredibly moist with a rich molasses flavor that came through beautifully without being overwhelming. It was unlike any whoopie pie I've had before, and easily one of my favorite varieties I've tried in quite a while. Mission accomplished! While Oak Grove Farms is clearly much more than just a destination for desserts, this peanut butter pie expedition was an overwhelming success. Next time I'll spend more time exploring everything else the market has to offer. But let's be honest...I'll probably leave with another slice o
