I am not usually the fashion forward type, so rarely do I get compliments on my wardrobe (okay, let's be real here, I never get compliments on my wardrobe). I was going to the Chargers game this past Sunday, and since it was my first game, I am embarrassed to say I didn't have any apparel. Total fail, I know. I was so going to be the awkward one wearing a generic blue t-shirt because I didn't have the right gear. Enter Jersey Sweater. I was able to procure myself a Chargers sweater before the game, total save. I am not even kidding when I say I got a million complements on the sweater. Standing in line for the bathroom, "oh my God, where did you get your sweater?", drinking my beer at the tailgate, "awesome sweater!", sitting in the stands, "right on, that is an awesome sweater!", riding home on the trolley, "I love your sweater". I wore my official jersey sweater to the Cowboys Thanksgiving game and it was an absolute hit! Strangers were coming up to me in the parking lot asking me where they could get their own jersey sweater. I was tailgating with a bunch of Philadelphia Eagles fans and they were asking me if I had any sweaters for them. Makes for a great conversation piece. Also, I loved the fit! In the past, I have worn jerseys that were oversized (because I thought it was cool). Admittedly, I was somewhat skeptical about wearing a "sweater" to a game. But it was great! I took my Deerstyle hat on a recent trip home to Cape Cod. It was 28 degrees and snowing, but the hat kept me feeling warm (and looking cool) every day. I put it to the test on my last morning there, when I wore it on a cold beach jog with my Dad. I recently wore my Green Bay Packers (Go Pack!!!) sweater while watching the GB/Bears game. While using the bathroom, I literally had a woman in the stall next to me commenting on how much she loved the retro look of my sweater and wanted to know where I found it. I know what you are thinking, you live in San Diego, what do you need a sweater for? Believe it or not, it gets cold here. Well, in the 30s which is cold for us and no matter where you come from, don't tell me you wouldn't at least have a sweater on in 30 degree weather. With that being said, I love my Jersey sweater! I am a born and bred Chargers fan. Lived in SD my whole life. I am now a part of a Chargers fan group called The Frightening Lightning. You can find us at every home game in section F3. During one of our epic tailgates, we see a dude wearing a kick-ass #17 Chargers sweater which looks like Rivers jersey but in sweater form. My friend Brad and I are interested. "Hey man, where did you get that kick ass sweater?" Low and behold, this kid had a cooler, that he was pulling along, filled with them. Sometimes our beloved Rivers makes me a little angry so I asked if he had any other numbers. 85?!? Oh yeah. Love me some Gates. Brad and I were in. Brad with the 17 and myself with 85. Granted, it was not the coldest day of the year but whatevs, we knew we would eventually need them during the season. I love my #85 sweater. The humping deer is hilarious, its the life of the party. The best part is when someone realizes that its more than just a sweater or a beanie.... BAM!!! their expression is priceless when they realize the two deers are humping, It does not get better than that. Ok so one night me and my friends were enjoying ourselves at the Sunshine and Co. Saloon in Ocean Beach when all of a sudden this guy walks in wearing a Chargers First Round Draft Knit. I asked the guy... "Where did you get that?" He responded the OB street fair. I offered to buy it from him but he told me no way! He didn't know when he could get another. While flashing some cash I asked him how much? Still nope! My husband proceeded to offer the guy $100 for his sweater but the guy still said no way man. Thats when my search began for a First Round Draft Knit sweater. I needed one!!! First I stalked on Facebook. Then I tracked the First Round Draft Knit team to Kobeys swap meet where I bought 3 sweaters. One for my husband, uncle and friend. But, unfortunately you did not have my size. I take your cards everywhere and when people ask about my husbands sweater I give them one. The girl at the China Panda Restaurant even asked about it.
