The people who work here are super nice, the coffee is cheap and good. The smoothies are tasty, and you can't ever do breakfast wrong with their cheap yummy egg sandwiches. Just moved to the area and wanted to explore some of my much needed morning breakfast sandwich options. Jessi was my first stop and may I say a very good one indeed. Great iced coffee-- I drink it black so I am pretty picky about the taste of my coffee because you can't really mask the bad coffee taste without milk and sugar and it was verryyyy delicious. Also not only did they have my beloved sausage egg and cheese (some places only have bacon which is always a disappointment) they also have turkey sausage for a little bit more which is awesome! This place ticks all my boxes - the only downside is that I can't stay here for hours because the seating is literally four stools against the walls of the place. The girl who's normally behind the counter is efficient and super friendly, the food is stupidly cheap ($6 for French toast with eggs how you like them, bacon and maple syrup, say what?), and they have a good selection of bagels, pastries, sandwiches, wraps, omelettes and breakfast burritos. I am moving from my ambiguously Williamsburg/Bushwick apartment at the end of this month. The only reason I am sad to go, aside from how irritating it will be to get my futon down 3 flights of narrow stairs, is that Jessi's will no longer be across the street from me. I teach nearby so their early morning hours, good coffee, and quick service have been a godsend. My normal routine is to forget their number, look out my bedroom window and spy it on the awning, dial them, give them my order, spend five minutes finishing getting ready, and head across the street to Jessi's before going to work. No matter how busy they are (and they are VERY busy in the morning), they always get my food to me in a timely manner. I like ordering a made to order breakfast burrito with egg whites, feta cheese, spinach, and some breakfast potatoes. It is amazing. All of their ingredients are fresh, and they have some of the best short order cooks in the neighborhood. Their yogurt parfaits are also amazingly delicious-- they use pretty high quality yogurt, and the balance of granola, fruit, and yogurt is perfect. The people are really hard working and in general, all around awesome. Once, I was short a dollar and the young woman at the counter waved me off saying, "Next time, next time!" But I turned back and saw her take a dollar from her own tip jar and put it in the register. !!! . How kind. I made it up to her with a 500% tip later on. This is the kind of no-frills, good service-providing, delicious food-serving, value-filled neighborhood joint that I hope my next 'hood has. Jessi's, I'll miss you! read more

This is my roommate's favorite breakfast spot in close vicinity to our apartment. He took me here this morning while we were doing laundry down the block. Seems like a popular spot for the neighborhood's morning coffee fix, and that's understandable because a large iced coffee was only $2. All the food was priced pretty well too. They have the usual bagels, quesadillas, sandwiches, baked goods, etc as well as made-to-order juices and a selection of Naked juices as well. I got a Naked juice but it set me back $3. Not worth it. Very small place so not really ideal for eating in. Grab and go. It's on the same block as the Montrose L stop. Very convenient, but I still prefer Cafe Nijasol, which is 2 blocks away. read more

My favorite iced coffee spot...and not just in the area...I mean anywhere. Their regular is $1.50. Their large is $2 and huge. I'm seriously addicted to it. I've tried to duplicate it and have had iced coffees at other spots...and I keep coming back to my Jessi's...please don't change when the hipster families move into the new apartment complex across the street!! I've had an iced shot of espresso w/ a tiny spot of milk...great tasting espresso! They have soy milk for you lactose free people. Their baked goods are a shot in the dark. Sometimes stale. Somtimes fresh. But everything is crazy cheap so who cares. Try buying when the dessert case looks full or in the beginning of the week. I've had their fresh juices-pretty decent, esp for the price. I'm not a huge fan of the breakfast food but I'm also not a huge fan of Cafe Nijasol or any of the other delis either. Not saying it's bad here, just saying I prefer to either make it myself or go to a real sit down brunch spot. Also, the smell of bacon makes me physically ill so I rarely eat at delis. The employees are quick and hard working. Please tip! The lines get kinda crazy in the morning but it's a tiny place so that's to be expected. I'm almost finished with my iced coffee. I'll probably get another on my way into the city. So worth the $2 or $4 I spend daily! read more

No frills place for breakfast bagels, burritos, tortas, and other non-breakfast fare. Even pancakes, though I only had the immune booster juice and veggie breakfast burrito. Pastries, yogurts, and smoothies too. Don't let the simple storefront fool you though! It's as efficient as it is compact, like a lot of unassuming spots in BK. The "mom" working the front is easygoing, as are a lot of the people passing in and around the shop. Food was fresh, not overly done or salted; a good deal for these qualities and in comparison to surrounding spots. This is my first time but it's so cozy it feels like I've here before. Jessi's, you are on Yelp! It seems I was spelling the name wrong. This is my new favorite place to grab something quick. They never screw anything up, have your order up in minutes, and everything I've gotten from here tastes great. The turkey club wraps and tuna salad are both very good, and relatively inexpensive. Breakfast sandwiches are also delicious. I think their shining star is their cappuccino. I'm actually drinking one right now. It really is so good. For $1.75, you get a tiny amount, so I would suggest adding the extra dollar for a large. They put just the right amount of sugar and cinnamon in it, and it's just plain delicious. I don't think you could get a better cappuccino, and this isn't even the focus of the place! Jessi's is tiny, so it's definitely not a sit-down experience, but it doesn't matter. Small place in East Williamsburg that has won the hipsters over. Come here for great breakfast sandwiches, or even a full breakfast all cooked to order. Also, they make great fruit smoothies and I am a fan of their coffee which they will serve the way you like it and will even give you a shot of soy milk. I usually do breakfast, but their lunch sandwiches are quite good also. They are small, don't overextend themselves and do what they do quite well. This place is pretty cool, a hipster hideaway. Its a very small coffee shop that serves breakfast and lunch foods all day everyday and for insanely inexpensive prices. My hubby was able to order a complete breakfast for under $6. You can't beat that. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich just on a roll for all of $2 and a coffee to wash it down for $1. The girl at the front counter is incredibly friendly and efficient. I recommend this joint to anyone looking for a quality meal without sacrificing the last $20 bucks that may be holding them over until they get paid. I mainly stop here for iced coffee on my way to the train since my dietary restrictions mean I can't eat most of their menu items. (Though I've been meaning to talk to them about perhaps carrying tofu cream cheese, as I plan on never stepping foot in Bread Brother's again.) The large iced coffee is gigantic - probably more coffee than I should be drinking. Though I rarely drink my coffee sweetened, they have stevia, which is rad. The staff is always SUPER SWEET. I will not give a star. But I have to.The staff is rude and unfriendly. The few times I went I ordered bacon egg and cheese twice I had no cheese. Jessi insisted I didn't order cheese, but charged me for it. The last time I ordered the same thing this time I asked for my toast to be buttered. To my surprise the same sandwich that I have ordered in the past was .50 cents extra for the butter. I should have walked out and left the sandwich after her daughter was just as rude as Jessi.
