This place was a cool spot to visit on a skip work day Friday. They had a good drink menu to choose from. Their food menu option was great too! Only downfall is I wish they had their brewery tour open. The traffic for Friday was good. I wasn't expecting many people to be on grounds. It's big enough to service a lot of people. It's also family friendly with trails and a playground. For the size, I think the playground for the munchkins can be bigger. Great spot right outside of Austin. We did the $5 brewery tour and it was so worth it to check out the brew area and hear more about their process. A great place for kids and adults. Big open grassy spaces for kids to run around. A ton of seating under the main structure, just outside of it or even in the upper terrace area. All the food we had were tasty. The one that we all loved was the mushroom pizza which came with chunks of garlic and flavorful mushrooms - a must order if you like mushrooms! The corn and olives were tasty too! We tried a variety of beers and all were superb. All around faves were the blueberry sour and the stout. One thing I didn't care for were the porta-potties. Towards the end of the night I took the kids to wash their hands and there was no water. We checked the second porta pottie and the urinal was not flushed and had no water too. Not sure if the water gets shut off at a certain time but found this off putting. We then had to go towards the main bathroom further up back towards the property. With a brewery this big you'd think there'd be more restrooms. read more

Came to Jester King for the first time this past weekend and had a great time. The parking was a bit chaotic but thankfully there's lot of space and we were still able to find a spot. The wait for pizza was over an hour but it was absolutely worth it. Tons of seating and outdoor space and they had a fun market going on when we came as well. Will definitely be back! read more

This place is truly a craft beer experience unlike any other in US! We ventured out to Austin for a bachelor party and as we are all beer enthusiasts / professionals, Jester King was the main goal. We called ahead to let them know about our party size / arrival, secured tickets for the tour and stayed for an early dinner. We HIGHLY recommend the tour. I personally have been a tour guide for many breweries as well as have been on many brewery tours but this one was so personal and meaningful. Debbie gave a world class tour and really made everyone understand the reason why JK exists and the emphasis on terrior they have. The legendary coolship room was fantastic and I geeked out on the horizontal lager tanks. We snagged a beer at the barn bar before the tour started. The food and ambience was fantastic! Everything is so spread out and their kitchen that day was rocking. Ya can't go to JK without snagging a pizza and glass on one of their saisons. Regan and Jerika, who I know from the Stone Brewing days, were prime examples of hospitality. From geeking out about the to go selection to just talking about the rad events they have coming up, it was all tied together to the overall beer experience. I shared some Pure Project beers and SD gifts for their wonderful attention to detail. The overall team is a well run machine! It has taken me years to finally get here! I was told that it's on par with my favorite East Coast brewery, Treehouse. WELP, IT IS. They are phenomenal here! The beer alone gets 5 stars, but then there's all their other stuff... - Food: We had the peach pizza, olives, and pretzel. Every single bite was delicious, especially that pizza. - Atmosphere: Beautiful, relaxing farmland. Tons of trees, space, walking trails, picnic tables, shade. - Staff: Felt like visiting a friend's house party. Everyone was so easy-going and beyond helpful... and funny! I laughed with a man in charge of the to-go beer and merchandise, and it was more like reuniting with an old pal than it was buying goods from an employee. - The best bonus: GOATS! They have tons of goats and sadly we couldn't do the "goat experience" package because it had sold out (get on there at least a week in advance to book!) but we could still go up and pet them through the fence. They were so adorable and seemed wonderfully taken care of. This is definitely one of those heaven-on-earth places. I wish I could drag Austin closer to Galveston just for this place. read more

Wow! Jester King is now my favorite brewery in the greater Austin area, tucked away in a huge ranch in Dripping Springs. At its core is delicious and funky beer, great for those who want to experiment and taste unique flavors. You've gotta try their Atrial Rubicite which is a raspberry wild ale that won gold at the World Beer Cup. Once you have a drink in hand, it's time to wander around the ranch and pet some goats or sit in the barn and listen to some live music. Absolutely beautiful open brewery tucked a little ways off the main road. Ample amounts of parking (though it's easy to see how it could fill up quickly). I came on a Friday afternoon when it was just opening up and was able to get several tasters in before it filled up. Service was quick, kind, and helpful. Seating was plentiful and very open. I didn't get any food but saw many people did - which means that's something I should come back for. Beers from Jester King I've had before, which is the main reason I wanted to visit. The beers on tap were as solid as any bottled stuff I've tried and set against the backdrop of the farm was even more serene. Been here now multiple times. Highly recommend. Area: big wide open space to roam around. Even while eating and drinking. Walk and pet some goats. Take your kid to the playground. Sit under the main building and eat and drink. Do whatever your heart desires. Staff: friendly and knowledgeable. They change their beers often. So you always have a chance to try new stuff. Never a bad idea to get a staff recommendation. Food and beverages: I have had many things here. I have yet to have something that was not delicious. The pizza made here is very good brick over style. Their pastries are to die for. The new food truck is an amazing add. My only critique is that the food truck can seem a bit disorganized. When returning to pick up food, I have had to re wait in a line for 'ordering' to get my food. They try to separate but have not seen Them do it successfully. Not a huge fan of a lot of their beers. A lot of them are really high ABV and the flavors are different than what you're probably used to. With that said, they have an amazing brewery setup. Huge area that can accommodate hundreds of people well. The staff is super nice. The food ordering system from your phone is super easy and efficient. I built my own pizza with marinara, chicken, onion, bacon, basil, and both kinds of cheese. SO GOOD! The Champurrado cookie is a must no matter what you get. There is also a stage for live music, depending on if they have any events going on during the weekends. There are various beers, cocktails, and wine on the menu. One of the bars is a walk up to order, whereas everything else is ordered by phone and pick up when ready. Wait times can be 45+ minutes for a pizza, depending on how busy they are or if they are short staffed. The pizza is a about 10" and cooked in a brick oven. We went here last weekend and honestly I was not expecting what I experienced lol. I was told we were going to a brewery, this one was on a HUGE ranch serving pizza and beer from a few different locations. We ordered our drinks then turned around to see a huge pack of goats running our way and a bunch of children running behind them. It was the cutest thing. The pizza was delicious we got the margherita and created one of our own. The beer was some type of blackberry one looks purple but the taste is pretty sour. We walked around to explore and ended up finding the goats, the workers were super nice and let us come in and pet them. It was all in all a great experience and we will def be back with friends and family. Also a quick warning: don't wear cute shoes because they'll get messed up and dirty. This review is just about the beer tour. Not the facility as a whole. I don't recommend it. The tour was either $5 or $10 a person. Not much but not free. There was way too much talking by the host and way too little anything else: there is no tasting, no serving, not even looking at actual beer. It's just a bunch of barrels and listening to the talking of the host. He was friendly and knowledgeable but this tour was kind of a dud. read more

I've been wanting to go here for some time and finally got the chance to this past weekend. I was in dripping springs showing some family Hamilton pool and intentionally made reservations and casually chatted this place up to my family members. For covid it is reservation only, they check you in at the front and guide you to your section. Picnic tables are first come first serve. You online order and pay on your phone and they text you when your food and drinks are ready. You then pick up your food at tables set up. We ordered 3 pizzas, we were given one wrong pizza, they told us to keep that one and quickly made the correct pizza. We ordered the Luca minus the pickled peppers which was delish but my cousin ordered the Joyce and that was by far my favorite pizza, we also had a build your own pizza not pictured and then the benno which the was incorrect pizza. We made a reservation and received purple wristbands upon entrance. Lots of seating available! The atmosphere is great here with so much to do! There's a beer garden you can walk through, a goat experience, corn hole, and even a wedding venue attached nearby. I personally preferred the beer garden because you could get some nice peace and quiet with not a lot of crowds. For drinks: I got the JK Farmhouse Cider, made from black apples, and the JK Farmhouse & Sangiovese Grape Must. My boyfriend got Less Dots and Atrial Rubicite. They were all really unique! Jester King, I am a fan. Since one of my closest friends now lives in Austin and trusted me enough to be in his wedding, we found ourselves here the night before he officially tied the knot. This was my first experience visiting a brewery on a ranch as we don't have a whole lot of these back on the East Coast. And I gotta say, it was a really cool atmosphere. You want space? You've got it here. In fact, this is the perfect place to hang out with a group - large or small on a nice sunny day which is exactly what we did. As far as beer goes, they seem to lean pretty heavy on the farmhouse ales and sours but you can also find a stout or 2 and perhaps even an IPA if you're lucky. In addition to the 3 bars, they also have a food ordering station; however, pizza seems to be the most popular item since they have a legit pizza oven - the Calabrese was actually quite tasty. My only complaint is the amount of time that it took to get a beer. I've been to dozens of breweries and felt like I waited in line for more time here than anywhere else including super packed breweries where it's hard to find space to stand, let alone order a beer. Texas may not be a beer destination but when it comes to a tasty saison, inviting atmosphere and plenty of space to spread your wings, it doesn't get much better than Jester King. read more

Fast forward years later and a pandemic later, we got reservations out in the grass area. You can order food and drinks on your phone and pick it up when they text you. It was super quick and efficient. It was still warm out, but not their fault. The beers were pretty good: I got a cherry one and Mr Mingo which is another fruit based one. Met my family at Jester King Brewery over Christmas weekend. I have nothing but positive things to say (ok fine one critique but really overall so positive). Setting: -Setting is beautiful! We sat in the outdoor beer hall. It was windy so bring a jacket! -Check where your reservation is. The outdoor beer hall is ADA compliant. Be sure to drop off elderly family members at the front (parking is in the back and is a short walk but harder for those with walking issues). -Be sure to read your reservation email! The goats are so cute but are a walk so you want good walking shoes and a layered clothing. Food: -Started out with the olives and the bean salad. Definitely order both! -Joyce Pizza is kimchi and delicious. Seriously order. A little too much salt on it but overall so good, can't wait to have again! -Benno Pizza was light and airy. The crust on these pizzas is wonderfully charred. Beer: -Cherry Grisette is light and tart, highly recommend -DDH IPA is super yummy if you're a hop head -Dark Beers do ya angle toward sour beers so if you're a dark beer fan you'll want to stick with black metal. Such a beautiful stopping spot in the hill country. Jester king had great vibes, live music, beers and wine, and really nice outdoor seating. Most of the beers here are sours, which I didn't realize when I picked the fruity sounding description so make sure you are aware. We got the mushroom pizza which was surprisingly good, super fresh and delicious. They also have a cute farm trail where you get to see goats, great place to visit for families. I remember when this place was a new thing. Every one of our friends would invite us but it was usually during those torturous hot summers so we never made the trek out there. Time passed, more breweries started popping up all over and it became less of a unicorn. We still wanted to go, but we never thought about planning for it. Such is life with a three year old, you're just along for the ride... A quick trip to the zoo, three hungry bellies and then the thought, "Isn't Jester King around here?" Find me a prettier Austin day than 55 degrees and sunny. The grounds are magnificent. They are diverse, offering something for everyone and they are expansive. There's so much to explore. The food was great, the pizza reminding me of a certain Austin pizza juggernaut (Pious). The kolache and the meaty beans were surprisingly good. The crowd was happy, engaging and...pretty. I couldn't help at notice everyone who didn't have a kid was dressed up while all of us slobs with kids were just holding it together by a thread. Either way, it was harmonious and positive. While I didn't get a chance to sample all the beer, I did have a small sampling of two red fruity ales. I'd want to wait for a couple more trips and more beer tasting to give my definitive on the beer. That said, the experience is what matters, and it was definitely something you'd want to do again. This past November my wife and I were in Austin and were looking for something fun to do for an afternoon. We read about Jester King and decided to check it out. It ended up being a great find. The grounds are lovely and in November the weather was absolutely perfect. Their beer is pretty much all sour so be prepared for that. The goat tour was also really charming. When it was over there was a small hiking loop (I'm guessing a couple of miles?) that we were able to take. Nestled in the hill country this expansive brewery has something for all. My Callie visitor had Jester on his bucket list to visit as he is a west coast beer guy. I teased him earlier in the day with visits to Twisted X and a few other breweries. As we arrived at Jester his eyes lit up like a kid at Xmas. "This place is huge" was his first huzzah! We settled him down with a Noble King ale and I dove into their El Cedro aged ale. Surprisingly/not this bad boy had distinct cedar flavors and drank really well on a hot afternoon. We also tried a collaboration ale they brewed with Real Ale brewery that was pretty refreshing. My guest went ga ga over the Montmorency vs Balaton a barrel-aged beer refermented with cherries. Not my cup of tea but others were enjoying it immensely. There are plenty of beers almost too many but that makes Jester a special venue for beer folks. I would be amiss if I did not mention their wood-fired pizzas and the charcuterie board (2 of my Favs). Order early as the kitchen does get backed up. So bring the kids, your pooch, and of course your thirst. You can't help but have a great time here! read more
