Came here right after work on Thursday around 5:30 pm. The place was almost empty with 1 other customer inside the restaurant. You walk up to the counter and order your food, pay there, and seat yourself. The food will be served to you once they're ready. It was dead silent besides the chef in the kitchen freshly cooking my meal. I waited roughly around 10 minutes for the tacos and while I was eating my tacos the churro was brought out to me on a red tray. I had asked for extra onion and cilantro on mine and was happy to see that they were able to accommodate me and not skimp out of the onion and cilantro. I had also wanted horchata to go with my tacos but they had sold out for the day so I was a bit disappointed. The tacos came with 2 sauces, what appears to be a salsa verde and something spicier than a typical salsa roja. It was more grainy looking, deep dark red and definitely spicier than typical salsa roja. The meat itself was slightly over cooked and had a slightly hard chewy texture. It wasn't juicy/fatty but kinda dry. However, the overall flavor was still there so it didn't really take away from my experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the churro because it took me approximately 10 minutes minimum to eat my 3 tiny tacos and the churro was still very warm when I bit into it. There was some type of filling inside as well. I asked my coworker about it and she said it may have been dulce de leche. It really enhanced the overall flavor of the churro and I really enjoyed eating it. Would love to come back here again but only for the churro. read more

Been here before for a burrito and it was good. Came back and made the mistake of ordering chilaquiles with eggs. The eggs were burnt, the yolk completely solid. Five minutes from home I stumbled into this little spot. I judge many places by the types of dip they have. Mexican restaurants have to pass the salsa test. Theirs was good and I ordered guacamole which was made to order. Say what? Fresh guacamole! And...fresh chips....am I still in Colorado??? That alone sold me on this place. It's not Texas but it's pretty tasty. I almost don't want to write a review so as not to spoil it but business was quite steady so people are in the know. My family and I have gotten take out here twice in the last 3 months. We liked it so much we decided to give them our business on Christmas Eve. Ordered 4 meals with different types of beef and every single one of them was RUINED AND OVERCOOKED to the point where ALL of our meat was char broiled! Small, real hole in the wall. I felt like I stepped over the border in to Mexico (with Colorado prices). I had the chili relleno smothered with their green chili sauce (tasty!) It is authentic. I got double refried beans. No rice as I am diabetic. The food was very good. The only slight complaint is there was some weird oil? stain on the corn tortillas. I ate them anyway. The al pastor and chorizo were good too, but not outstanding. Was WAS outstanding was Boy's burrito - when I saw that the breakfast burritos were only $4 I suggested he order two. My green chili cheese fries were not cooked all the way through but the green chili was good. BEWARE: there is another website that impersonates their website to get your credit card information. Found this out the hard way. Their website doesn't seem much more legit than the fake one but theirs send you to menustar. The fake one is Orderhero. The employees don't seem to care though. Just said "uh no we didn't get your order" after showing them a confirmation and the bank charge. I would just recommend ordering through Grubhub so you're protected. read more

Landing at Denver Airport, and en route to Colorado Springs, we were looking for a place to eat and I didn't really want Chipotle but something Mexican sounded good. This place popped up with great reviews from other Yelpies plus it didn't require a massive detour from our route. So firstly, it's a lovely little place, very homey and the servers were great about offering suggestions. They also switched off the tv as requested, as one member of our crew was feeling headachy. Food-wise, the portion sizes are massive! Honestly, two people can easily split a plate, or you can absolutely split the food for both lunch and dinner. I really enjoyed the crispness of the home made tortilla chips and the accompanying salsa had a great spicy kick - would def recommend getting this as a starter. I got the smothered pork burrito and this thing was darn tasty. Lots of beans, rice and then the sharpness of the pork - I couldn't really pick up what spices they were using but it was a pleasing whole. The cheese on top was melted just right and super delicious. BTW, as a side note when driving up, the area seemed very familiar but it wasn't until end of the meal when one of the party realized our route had also taken us near the Denver 2012 Aurora movie theater shootings!! It was slightly surreal for all of us to realize that we'd seen all the TV and news reports and now were at the actual location.... #unintended consequences!
