My husband and I had scheduled two back to back appointments at 11 AM and 1130 on a Sunday to get our cars tinted. So that we were not left without a car, they suggested we leave our truck first and they told us they would call us when to come back to collect the truck and then they would tint our car. Minimum of four hours later, I decided to call because I have tinted my windows in the past and it's never taken that long. They told me it'll be ready in 30 minutes and they would call me so no need to come down and wait. I relayed this message to my husband and he decides he's just going to go down there anyway. Well he sat there for another three hours. They obviously hadn't even started our tuck. Clearly they are overbooked and will take everyone who walks in. Long story short, they worked on our two cars, while obviously taking a bunch of other cars, from 11 AM till after 8 PM on a Sunday. We had to work the next day, we were so mad. There were tons of little bubbles and imperfections in the tint, some of it has settled. When we called to come back, they told us to give it a little bit more time. We will be bringing it back to have the adjustments made as they claim they have a lifetime warranty to any of their locations. We paid for the most expensive tint they offer. I'm embarrassed to even say how much we spent. They have a sample of all of their tints and they put a heat lamp in front of it to show you how much of the heat it will block. Ain't NO WAY the tint they put on our windows was the same one that they showed us and we paid for. My car is so hot, and we paid a ridiculous amount of money for the "best" they offered. Don't be fooled, just get the regular tint. It's a scam their little heat trick. My nearly year-long experience with Jet Black Tint (JBT) in Fairfield has been a disappointing journey marked by "bait and switch" tactics and a lack of transparency, to which I hope anyone who is considering getting their windows tinted by them will read my first-hand experience. Read final paragraph for TLDR Initial Appointment & Price Creep: Back in May of 2025, as a first-time tint shopper, I was drawn by a $129 ad for 5 windows on their website. A phone representative using their generic call number (who has no affiliation to any specific JBT location) quoted me $229 total to include my Civic's quarter panels and front windows. However, upon arrival, the store manager, Wes, claimed the price was actually $249-$259 due to the "curved" nature of the glass. He demonstrated to me a display of the different tiers of Solargard's tints. I asked him if the tints on that display had the same tint shade levels since each felt and looked different, but he ended up telling me that the display has been there for so long that he couldn't remember. I ultimately agreed to a "ceramic" (HP Smoke Plus) tint for the sides and a premium VortexIR tint for the windshield ($300+ extra). Even now, I still remember that it took them over 2 and a half hours to complete their estimated 90 minutes installation. I was able to walk to McDonald's, watch a movie, and walk back with 15 minutes to spare; I was to receive a phone call once done. Although I was initially happy with the tint, I later found that the windshield was left with an uneven cut and a permanent haze in the corner (SEE PICTURE). The "Ceramic" Deception: Two months later, I returned to tint my sunroof. A different manager (whose name I forgot) sat down with me to discuss the type of tint I wanted and told him that I wanted the same "ceramic" HP Smoke Plus that I got for my sides and back windshield. He revealed that the HP Smoke Plus I had been sold as "ceramic" was actually a metallic tint. My original invoice from Wes explicitly stated "ceramic tint," leaving me feeling intentionally misled (SEE PICTURE). I proceeded with the same metallic tint for my sunroof only to avoid mixing materials and higher costs. Bait and Switch Pricing: April of this year (2026), I sought a quote to replace the four door side tints with actual ceramic (VortexIR). I did a walk-in appointment with Wes and he quoted me $600 ($50/window for removal, $100/window for install). I asked if there is anything he can do for a returning, loyal customer and having spent $750+ previously, his best "discount" was a $640 upgrade to their highest tier (XenithIR, which is one tier above VortexIR, and about $60 saving). I offered that if I were to remove the tints myself, he would charge $440, but reminded me that if I had left any trace of adhesive, they would have to charge a clean-up fee per window. Dissatisfied, I checked JBT's website and saw a promotion that a full package comes with free tint removal for $399. I spoke with another (different) sales rep on the phone to get a ball-park estimate and was told that it starts at $399, but for XenithIR, it would be an additional $100. I then decided to chat with a second sales rep via text and was greeted by an AI agent which also said that a full XenithIR tint package with free tint removal would also cost $499 (SEE PICTURE). When I confronted Wes with this, he dismissed the corporate quote as "wrong" and insisted the real full package price for XenithIR was $1,049, and that the $499 only reflected the install price of 7 windows starting from the back. Which, to me, isn't much of a deal considering removing all the tint would be about $400-$500. It became clear that JBT's pricing is unstandardized and designed to squeeze even returning customers. That became the final straw, and I knew there wasn't any room for negotiation. Even if there was more room, I knew it wouldn't be worth it. Superior Local Alternatives: I researched local competitors: Fairfield Tint Masters, TJ's Custom Tints, Superior Tint, and Vivid Optics. I chose NorCal Tints, where the owner, Joe, provided the same Solargard VortexIR ceramic for the sides (including quarter panels) and rear windshield for just $380 (or $300 for just the four side windows). His removal fee was $25 per window--half of JBT's price. The quality was comparable, and the pricing was honest. Final Verdict: JBT Fairfield is an unorganized franchise. I realized there is a total disconnect between their ads, phone reps, and in-store management. While they are efficient at scheduling appointments, their deceptive product labeling and inconsistent pricing are unacceptable. I shouldn't need to ask for a discount nor compensation for false agreements. I will no longer do business with them, and I strongly encourage others to support local tint shops that offer transparency and competitive rates. I can almost guarantee you will find a better price and better service than whatever they offer you elsewhere. read more

so as time passed, I decided to update this review after having my Windows tinted by them... First off I just wanted to say that when I first originally called to make an appointment the guy on the phone told me I qualified for a sale after asking for my car information. I went in person, and the worker proceeded to argue with me about how dark my stock windows already were and told me my car did not qualify for the sale that they were having, they considered the back windows that have the small little window as extra windows and that's why I didn't qualify. I thought it was kind of dumb and I honestly should've left... So once I signed the papers and everything for them to tint my car , the guy let me know He didn't charge me a fee for the windshield tint and proceeded to wink at me as if he was doing me a favor. When I got my car back when it was ready, the guy asked me to leave a review and believe it or not he was actually the one that typed up my review. I didn't. I also didn't even take that picture that was uploaded.. as time has passed. I have noticed that there are bubbles in my windshield tint, and you can also see the cut out of where they cut out the tint to fit on my windshield , my boyfriend also noticed that the tent started to lift and he was able to pull it off if he wanted to . Right before New Year's Eve I had noticed there was a very big bubble on the top where my rearview mirror is at and that's what set me off to update this review. I highly recommend going to somewhere else and not here. It's very unfortunate of how much they charge yet Do a very crappy job. I will definitely not be returning and I will not recommend this place to anybody. Super unprofessional and terrible quality work. My advice that I wish I took was if they tell you on the phone, you qualify for sale and they tell you otherwise in person just leave and go somewhere else! Price for what I got was expensive, reaching in the 500, but I purchased their second best option. There are cheaper prices, but I'm very happy for what I spent. The warranty is also helpful. Called and got quotes two different times , both times I was quoted $100 for two front windows. Made an appointment and when I arrived the kid running the place started backing off of the $100 quote, trying to say that the quote was wrong. He then started talking in circles never getting to the business at hand. Then he started getting rude because I told him he needs to talk to the people on the phone that quoted me the price. Good Tint Job, but Upselling & Long Wait Times I came to Jet Black Tint after seeing their advertised $129 special, but ended up spending over $500. I understand I have a large SUV with more windows than a standard car, and I also chose to tint the front window, I chose to get the more premium tint, which isn't standard, so paying more was ultimately my decision. That said, be aware that the low advertised price is mainly to get you in the door--they will upsell you. When I came in for my first appointment, I waited two hours while they tinted my windows. However, they didn't have the correct tint for my front window, which was supposed to be a different percentage. I was told the tint would be in the next day, but when I called two days later, it still hadn't arrived. I called again a week later and was finally told the tint had just come in, so I scheduled another appointment. I showed up for that appointment at 8:00 AM on a Wednesday, expecting it to take maybe 30 minutes, (I am only getting one window tinted, the windshield) They told me it would take 90 minutes, but I ended up waiting nearly three hours--with three young kids in tow. The tint itself looks good, but they clearly overbook appointments and don't respect customers' time. Their sales approach feels like a classic bait-and-switch. The PPF and Tint look great. Now comes the bad.... It took them 4 days longer than quoted. They did have a cutter break down. But didn't call me to tell me they'd deliver late. I had to call them. They couldn't tell me an exact date they'd be finished until the day before. I tried for 2 days to get ahold of them via text and phone but ended up calling the main line. Then the shop finally called me. If they deliver late I would expect a 1 minute phone call to give me an update. I did just pay them $3100. Finally when I picked up the car the windows were filthy and covered with water spots. Maybe this was a one off situation. I gave 3 stars because the PPF and tint look good. read more

Just picked up our car from jet black tip got really good service. They took care of us from scheduling everything online to walking us to the tent types. Ex was pushy about writing a 5 star review.. after a month I had to go back and have them redo multiple windows for bubbles and cracks in the tint.
