If you ever wondered where the concept of dipping pizza into Ranch Sauce originated, look no further than the American Midwest. Having grown up in Brooklyn, I didn't even know what Ranch salad dressing was until I moved down to the DC area. While I was in Troy, many of the locals proclaimed, "Jet's pizza is okay, but they have the BEST Ranch Sauce in Detroit!!!" So fervent was their belief in Jet's Ranch Sauce, how could I leave town without sampling it? Jet's Pizza is a local chain, and they only have take-out service; although I did observe a few folks eating their slices on the green booths where people wait for their orders. Apparently pre-COVID, you could dine in, but like many places, post-COVID, it's To-Go only. I ordered the original "Detroit Style" with pepperoni and a side of Ranch. The pizza was fine. Square cut with crispy enough edges, sauce was forgettable, and the pepperoni could've used a few more minutes in the oven. But the Ranch Dressing...FIRE! Supposedly, every pizza joint has their own version of Ranch Dressing, but Jet's is some of the best I've ever tasted. It was thick, creamy, and had great seasoning without being too salty. My only exposure to Ranch thus far, has been bottled Kraft or Hidden Valley Ranch in the supermarket; Jet's version blows them all away. The sauce is so popular, that they sell 12 oz bottles. If I wasn't worried about it leaking everywhere, I would've definitely checked a few bottles into my luggage. read more

Jet's Clawson has been a go to place for me for the past 6-8 years. Having moved out of Clawson to Royal Oak I still order there over the Berkley location and that's closer to me. Not sure if something has changed from an ownership side but the food and service has changed dramatically in the past 8 months. Pizza is meh.. Thrown together sloppily like a child cleans their room.. this never used to be. Ordered one large cheese pizza (round) for kids and it was burnt. If anyone has kids that's $16-$18 I'll never get back. They wouldn't touch it.. "I don't like it it's too dark" Also ordered hot wings. This is what really annoyed me while picking up. I asked for ranch to dip the wings in. Any place in the US when wings are ordered you have the option of dipping sauce. Usually ranch or blue cheese.. I was not offered any.. When I asked for sauce for the wings they looked me dead in the eye and asked for $1. I was like huh!?! Wings always come with a dipping sauce. Petty maybe.. Principe yes. When you drop $45 on 1 large pizza, a small square and wings, a ranch dipping sauce shouldn't involve 2 different employees in the store. I will be giving Jets Clawson a nice break and be exploring other options in Royal Oak moving forward. Personally, I think Jet's Pizza varies per location - ever so slightly. The Clawson location has it down! I texted my order and was able to pick it up within 15 minutes with a 20% discount for using the text feature. At pick up, the cashier showed me my order to ensure I was satisfied. Their Cajun crust is one of the best, if not thee best... if you ask me. The only thing I think the whole franchise could use a tad more cost friendly menu. read more

I redeemed it today, got a large mushroom deep dish pizza with garlic butter crust (next time I need that Turbo crust! Garlic + butter + Romano cheese). Super tasty and fresh. When you come in it smells really good, and a nice sitting area! And they have there own style of pizza! And it's Kid Friendly. Sadly there was a piece of hair in one of our cups to begin with. Ugh annoying. I tried to place an order for pickup w my credit card online tonight like we have done a million times before and the new girl wouldn't let me. Instead I had to use their horrible online ordering system. They don't even have an app out yet. Anyways, the promo I wanted was .50 more online which makes no sense since I had the go through the extra effort. So instead I settled on another promotion that I didn't really want. This bad experience reminded me about the time one of their drivers tailgated me home in my sub. Their prices are getting too high. $15.50 for large pizza is not a great deal.
