I tried the hamburger because it was a bogo. You have to wait a little because they cook it fresh which is a good thing. It has lettuce, tomato,sauce and onion. It was good but too greasy for me. I will stick with the Mexican food. The courtesy cup for water was really small. The restaurant was clean but the restroom was disgusting so a 4 star and I almost considered a 3. I love this Del Taco! The people running the drive thru are always energetic and friendly. I have been here multiple times and my order is always correct and packed neatly. The wait times for drive thru can be a hit or miss. Longest I have waited is 10 minutes but that's not even bad. A bit sad that this location is no longer open 24 hours. Gave them a second chance today after a major issue last weekend. I think it was even worse today. They charge $3.49 for the smallest hamburger patty with huge buns. We ordered it no tomato or onion - it was loaded with both in order to get all of the onion off, we had to scrap the bun clean of sauce and lettu r. Ugh! The burger is worth $2 at most. But - I was pleasantly surprised - it wasn't as bad as some of the other reviews are saying. I got a crispy chicken burrito thing - the guac was actually good, plenty of cheese and large. I only ate about 1/2 of it. But the biggest surprise was they had tamales, so I ordered one just to check it out (you can't get tamales at that other taco fast food place!). It was pretty decent. Not too dry and plenty of pork inside. I know all the fast food restaurants are struggling to find help, so I was happy that they took my order and had it made pretty quickly and didn't screw anything up. I wouldn't feel fair giving 5 stars to somewhere I've never physically been, but Del Taco has become one of my favorite Doordash lunches since we had to return to office in May. I would never have been able to predict how much I could enjoy some chili cheese fries and a burrito. YUM! A friend says their tacos are pretty spot on too, but I haven't changed from my first order. I worry about anything crispy transporting well if I'm not the first meal dropped off, so I stick with amazingly warm and gooey chili cheese fries (mostly with a fork, but there are usually a few good salty fries near the edges that I can use to dip in the deliciousness), and then bite in to my simple and tasty burrito. Stopped in here on a progressive taco run, this was last stop for us, it was on our way home and close by. Ordered a fish taco and a grilled chicken taco. It was inexpensive but not as cheap as TB. Quality was about the same quality. The chicken meat was a bit better quality, but sauces and overall tacos were just okay. The fish taco was a bit heavy on the batter for my liking. This is the nastiest del taco!!!!!!! My steak looks disgusting. My chicken taco was disgusting the STUFFED quesadilla tacos- NO CHEESE TO STUFF IT. My churros are WET in the inside. The chicken roller was made wrong the tortilla was long and bent up. They messed my order up in the first place. They took allll day. They aren't 24 hours. A few weeks ago I wanted to grab some tacos and they were closed for renovations, although the drive-through was open. I'll be honest: before the renovation, it looked like a sad version of Chuckie (sp?) Cheese or something. The decor was dated, although colorful; everything looked old. Now, it's similar to the Del Taco Livonia location in decor, and everything looks MUCH nicer and more modern. I dined there this past Sunday before a movie at MJR, I had a free taco coupon too (sign up for their e-club!) for the carne asada. I ordered: 1 carne asada taco - their newest taco, I think. Comes with avocado which I don't entirely like, but it's healthy; a pico de gallo; and some steak. The steak was a little stringy, the Livonia location's was better. 1 turkey taco. This might actually be my favorite, I got it with a crunchy shell and pico de gallo. 1 chicken taco. I DON'T know what that white sauce is they use but it's delicious. I get my tacos minus lettuce (because I'm weird) and minus cheese (because dairy and I are not friends), also. I'm liking this location's updated look and will be back. Went to Del Taco drive-thru to get a quick lunch. The drive-thru worker was very friendly and pleasant when I gave my money and I got my food. She offered sauces as well for my order. I ordered the mini cheddar quesadilla, street taco with chicken, and a regular hard taco. The best food item was actually the regular hard taco. The meat was yummy and hot. The fixings of cheese, tomato, and lettuce were also tasty. The taco itself tasted great and the meat wasn't greasy like I feel it is with Taco Bell. The next taco - street taco with chicken. They do try to make it seem like you just got it off a food truck with it being wrapped in aluminum. I didn't realize the taco itself is two corn tortillas. Now, I am not a fan of corn tortillas the texture and taste remind me of feet or something (I know, I am weird). The flavors of the chicken with onions and cilantro give it a nice bite. However, the most disappointing aspect of the street taco was the sad slice of avocado. The actual size of the avocado I thought was decent, but the avocado itself when I tried it was hard. I was expecting a creamy/yummy avocado to go along with the spicy cilantro and onion, but instead the avocado was way too firm. I happened to have guacamole at work, so I used my dip with the taco and it tasted great. Finally, the mini quesadilla. The portion is small, it is called a mini! It was the perfect size for me, but the cheddar cheese inside seemed like it had been sitting waiting for someone to order it for hours. The cheese was pretty much hard, so I was a little sad. Overall, the customer service at this location was great. The food was decently good, but could have improved in a few places. Now - I know I should have also taken pictures of all this before eating, but I was too hungry! I did take a picture of the sad avocado, because I obviously didn't eat that. The nicest, friendliest and cleanest Del Taco I have been to (including Cali and Livonia). Each taco was packed and delicious. They have the best shredded cheese of any fast food. All of their food is delicious even their fries. You can't go wrong(I heard they have good burgers too from my friend but I always get tacos). Either it's too late at night to get anything better, or your local joint gave you such bad service/food that you're willing to go dumpster diving at Del Taco. It tries to do everything and yet succeeds at very few things. Service and Availability. This Del Taco is ran almost exclusively by women and they keep the place both clean and cheerful for the most part. Generous with the sauce packets, they speak clear English and present you with food that's hot compared to the luke-warm offerings down the street at Taco Bell. That unfortunately is where the praise ends. 1 star for service, 1 for being open 24 hours. The food however is bad. I don't know how anyone could manage to make Mexican food bland but they manage. Tasteless mystery meats that could be mistaken for tofu. Massive mouthfuls of cheese to the point you coughing up cheddar. Their new Habenero grilled chicken doesn't even tingle and the chicken carbon a nasty mess. If you lack alternatives, this Del Taco is an oasis in the concrete desert. My husband brought me to my first Del Taco. It was great. Not greasy. Tastes fresh. I seriously have not been back to Taco Bell after eating here. The place is always clean, no dirty tables ever. Staff is friendly. Coke products in the self-serve fountain machine. And fresh churros! This Del Taco location has really gone down hill recently. Ive been patronizing it for about a year, and seems to be trending consistently in the wrong direction. The hours are advertised as open 24/7, and that is a complete falsehood. I work some early/odd hours and they're only open about half the time I've stopped by recently. So much so that I can't really depend on them for a quick meal. The food has slid in quality too. For some reason the chicken is soggy and runny, steak the same way. The fries are never salted correctly. (When they are they're fantastic!) Everything is just bland over all. It's really a bummer its gone downhill so quick. read more

I haven't been to del taco in a long long time. Now that taco bell opened up nearby I just settle for their version of fast food tacos. But del taco is a whole new take on fast food mexican . I don't think you can compare the two though. Taco bell is more americanized and really like their nacho processed cheese flavors, their dorito frito stuff and their sauces with quirky remarks. Del Taco has their inferno sauce, they have the do whatever you want to your nacho option, their strawberry shake has strawberry bit, they have taco tuesdays, and their tacos: hard soft whatever are dirt cheap. I find some items at taco bell irresistible. I find some items at del taco a blessing. So they're both great in their own way. We happened to stop by after the gym to undo and erase all our good deeds done at the gym by eating a lot and a lot we ate!!!! Husband ordered some hard shell tacos, some burritos, some fries with steak toppings, basically we got everything. I'm embarrassed to admit that we did not take any left overs back home... lol!!!!! This store is owned by the same guy that owns the one at Universal at 12 & Dequindre. The service is always good and if you haven't stopped in to try a fish taco, chicken taco, cheese quesadilla or a bean burrito you don't know what you are missing. They cook the chicken to order, fry everything as they are ordered, they cook the beans for like 5 hours or something and hand grate all the cheese daily. Del taco is better then TB in every way. It comes in a soft corn tortilla filled with a freshly fried fish topped with shredded cabbage. I'm also a fan of their steak & chicken tacos al carbon. The sauce that they put in those tacos have quite the kick in the spicy department but, it's seriously a delicious taco. My daughter often eats vegan Del Taco. I thought that I would try the Carne Asada Wet Burrito Plato as it would give me an idea of a number of options and tastes for my next order. I know that food never looks like the picture but I was not expecting the burrito section of the tray to be filled half way up the burrito with sauce, it was literally swimming in sauce. The beans were sauce heavy too. I was thinking of trying the guacamole but had already exceeded my calorie count for the day. My daughter said it was good on her burrito and that they made it in house but I'm leery as the 3 slices of avocado included in the Plato were lined with black, I didn't eat them nor would I make guacamole with them so I'm suspicious of the quality of avocados in their homemade guac. I first tried Del Taco in California and enjoyed it. A couple of years later, I tried the location in Dearborn and was pretty disgusted. But then they put this location in much closer to home, and I've been very satisfied. I still haven't tried much on the menu, but their bean burritos are good, the chicken burrito was great, and they also have a really good deal called "Del's Deal" where you get to bean and cheese burritos, a taco and a drink for like $2.99. The thing I like about this location, though, is that the staff is really into it and really nice, and the dining area is always very clean. The guy who (I'm guessing) is the franchise owner is often there and you can really tell he takes a lot of pride in his store. Also his license plate is "DL TACO". That's commitment. I don't feel like Del Taco will ever "outdo" Taco Bell, but they do do some things differently, and they do do some things better. I remembered going to Del Taco as a little kid (2008) as a lesser version of Taco Bell. However, times have changed. I enjoy the burritos here more than Qdoba and Chipotle. The tacos are far better than Taco Bell's. It reminded me of the days of Baja Fresh. My favorite item is the Grilled Chicken Avocado Burrito. However during March 2020, I was able to get breaded shrimp (promotional item) instead of chicken on my burrito and it was perfect. I love this place. I know it's fast food mexican, but it's damn good. I moved to the area about 2 years ago and finally discovered this over the summer. The quality is solid, the food is delicious and the service is over the top. Today I tried the carne asada breakfast meal. The burrito was full of fluffy eggs, delicious beef and cheese -wrapped in a thin, tasty tortilla. The meal came with coffee and hashbrown sticks, which if I had to complain about something it would be the greasy hashbrowns. Coffee was fresh and bold too. On other visits we've tried the chicken soft tacos, my new fave. Honestly a killer deal for the amount of chicken you get in these things. Love them.
