A few minutes later, two people walked in without a reservation, asked if they could sit outside, and were seated outside. We then asked about this, and they said the other couple asked to sit outside and the hostess said this to us with a straight face! So now I'm fascinated. What exactly is the reservation doing here? Is it ceremonial? Did I reserve the opportunity to watch someone else get the table? We decided to stay anyway and ordered two drinks and an appetizer. 25 minutes later, we had no drinks and no appetizer. At that point, you have to admire the consistency. They didn't honor the reservation, they didn't bring the drinks, and they didn't bring the food. Nothing we requested made it to us. So we left. I assume somewhere around 9:00 our drinks arrived at an outdoor table occupied by the couple who just walked in.
