As a life long local I had not been there in several years as the food quality had really taken a dive. Finally went back for brunch and was pleasantly surprised. Tuesday night wine tasting $50 each 6-9pm. The private room in the back is a cozy cave-like area with low ceilings and semi-private alcoves. We met friends intent on having a good time. The wine was arranged in three stations which made for a great flow for the event. The wines were ok. Not the greatest but drinkable. We left with 5 bottles. The highlights of the evening were the staff and the food. The food was very good, fresh and plentiful. The staff was so nice. We made sure to tip out everyone. The theme was international wines so the menu was too. Lettuce wraps with tenderloin and chimichurri, oysters, Bahn mi, Italian cold cuts and cheese, Caprese and much more. It was all fantastic. What was the best part was that they were slow to set up but they didn't run out. I was very grateful for that, as I've seen that too many times. I would definitely do this again. We were greeted and seated quickly. They were busy but not on a wait/had open tables for a Saturday night football game. The table we were seated at was dirty/sticky. We asked for it to be wiped off and it was but was still sticky. Just the state of that table, I guess. I open my silverware and a piece of food fell out. The silverware also didn't look clean, but sometimes they get streaks in the dishwasher, I know. We ordered calamari and waited quite a while for appetizer. The calamari itself was awful. You can see in the picture...its probably just from a pre-made frozen bag. Definitely not the cost. Chicken Ceasar pita was excellent and the sweet potato fries were just OK. Not worth over $3 upcharge. Reuben was average. Service was good initially but went downhill. Sat with almost empty water glasses for a while, plates weren't being cleared from our table or others. Wish I could give this experience more like 2.75 stars but alas it was definitely below average. The chicken ceasar pita was the only highlight. read more

I've been here a few times over the past decade. I used to come for rooftop concerts in the summer. This place is always a fun place to grab drinks and yummy grub. We came here for dinner prior to a play the Pinckney players club. Our server Adam was phenomenal. Ahh the legendary restaurant on the water. If you live in the area, odds are you have been there. It's been a while since I've visited but my friend said their pizza was good and that sounded great to me on a Sunday evening. It was super busy when we got there around 5pm and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. Once we were seated though, our server was AMAZING. I believe her name was Kendra. She was so sweet even though we shot a bunch of requests at her at once. She came over and took our drink orders and we decided to order at the same time. She repeated our order back to us which was a large half and half pizza with a Greek salad and a pitcher of bud light. They did not do pitchers so they brought us our drinks and honestly the warmth from the sun and the buzz from the patio was just perfect. We had such a great time out on their rooftop deck. They had a tv playing golf and everyone around us seemed happy. Highly recommend this place to anyone in this area. I'm so happy it's not a chain and it's a local favorite. Ambiance is *chef's kiss.* They have it all. Upstairs patio bar, big bay windows with a lake view, big, open interior, a stage, t-shirts! It's a vibe. Although the parking lot looked packed, there were plenty of open tables inside. The menu has my complaint for all menus do in this area. It must be a michigan thing. It's too big, so it's hard to tell what items are excellent and what is a placeholder so they can have 100 items. Their business description says they specialize in Italian and creole food. What? This is a very confused burger and pizza jount. They also had a page long menu addition with all kinds of random items from southwest egg rolls to a lamb shank. First, mozzerella sticks. Avoid. You can get the same thing from kroger and make at home. We ordered the "Super Special" pizza that has pepperoni, Italian sausage, olives, mushrooms, and extra cheese. It says deep dish on the menu, but it is standard hand tossed and then served in a deep dish. I would say, don't get extra cheese. It was toojoint. Everything else about the pizza was great. We especially liked the crust and, because we got a large pizza, got a free t-shirt! The coconut cream pie was the star of the show. This is a menu item hidden gem. It must be made in house because it is special. They gave us a quarter of a standard pie----the slice was huge! The crust was perfect, filling creamy, and topped with toasted coconut. A solid lakeside restaurant! Definitely a lakeside American bar-food style of setup. So the four stars is comparable to any kind of sports bar situation. The food isn't the best I've ever had, but I would say it's been good and consistent everytime that we've gone. I've had good experiences both times we've ordered burgers and pizza. The service itself is pretty good too. As a party of 2, there hasn't been much of a wait for us, and our servers are always friendly and helpful. The food is quick, and the views are great. It's definitely got that summer meets lakeside meets Americana vibe if you're in the mood for some comfort food because that's what this place is. Classic Michigan Americana. Ideal summer dinner/lunch spot! I'm a sucker for a good patio when the weather is nice, and they have the absolute cutest roof top seating. A lot of it is shaded, so you don't have to be in the sun unless you want to. We went on a Friday night, so it was busy. But there was an ice cream shop right down the road that we waited at until our table was ready. Food was good, I built my own personal pizza and the crust was super good. We split some chips and queso to start with, they were nothing special but I've never had a cheese dip I didn't like lol Spicy margarita was exactly what I wanted to be sipping while looking out at the lake. Ordered queso/chips, queso was cold and unflavorful. Ordered combo tacos and a blues clues burger. Tacos were lame and unflavorful. Fish taco had a bad "fishy" after taste. Beef and chicken tacos were just OK. $17 crap tacos with dried out rice/beans. Burger bun couldn't hold up, and burger was over cooked. Got green beans on the side, got charged an extra $3. $20 burger with green beans that was unimpressive. Fast friendly seating, thin over worked wait staff. The Chicken Alfredo was horrible, it was runny and the chicken was undercooked. My wife took two bites and did not finish it. We mentioned the issue to our waiter and all we received was an apology. My fault for not having it removed from our bill. Very poor craft beer selection. Good burger and views of the lake. My son is autistic, and will not eat certain fries. Now they only have steak fries, which is not mentioned anywhere on the menu (they used to have both). This was my first time at this long-standing local icon. Parking confusing: highly likely that people using lake take advantage of the location. Be careful I'm parking lot as people coming and going! There are separate bar and restaurant areas (upstairs and downstairs). Menu very suitable for special occasions. I was very pleased with the sirloin special. The cut was thick: almost like a filet mignonette but clearly sirloin. A lot less meat than I expected, but very nice for one person. This was artistically delivered, with house/made zip sauce (decent). Roll was freshly baked. Multiple big screens with sports: I am imagine this place really rocks during Big Ten (plus) football games. Speaking of rocks: music was rock classics (70s etc). This is difficult for me for a couple reasons. In this little area there only two places to go to if you don't want to drive to Brighton, and Zukey has generally had one of my favorite items. At least once a month, likely every other week I come in after work and order the same thing. I'm in the "industry" so I'm well inclined to give a lot of leeway when it comes to service and product. But what can you say when you order the same menu item over and over, yet it is not just never the same, but there are times that it is absolutely unrecognizable? Everyone likes pizza and has ordered them. If you work in a kitchen can you not look at something and say "I don't think I'd like this if I ordered it"? Two weeks ago upon ordering (the very first time I've complained) I finally showed the bartender the product and said I just couldn't accept it, and it was re-made. After ordering tonight a guy with headphones around his neck personally delivered the pizza and says "Here you go Sir, I made it just for you", as if I'm on some sort of difficult customer list. Had lunch on our girls trip. Everyone loves going there so we decided to try it out. Worst experience! It took forever to get our lunch. They were not busy! Quick lunch turned into hours. We asked to separate our bills and the waitress had to run 4 credit cards. I folded the receipt over each individual card so she would know what card went with each bill. It took 15 minutes to get the cards back and I was charged for all the meals on my card. Even though when she came back each card had a receipt! She was clueless about what happened and didn't know how to fix it! So disappointed! We also tried to buy sweatshirts too. All the employees stared and passed by 3 of us standing there at the counter and my friend had to ask if someone was actually working today since nobody would help us but had no problem being on their phones and staring at us! Been goin here my whole life. Recent purchase will keep me from goin back until I see or hear of improvement!! Very disappointed. For starters my take out order was 2 Patty Melt burgers. No Fries. And a fried ravioli appetizer.. my bill was $50.50!! They changed meat patties, they used to be large and square. Now they are round and significantly smaller. Barely covering the bread. Not to mention the menu has been cut in half! Great items that were a staple here have been removed!! No chicken strips, no mushroom caps, no chilli wedge fries, no boneless pork chops...
