    Crab soup

I went to the Bethesda location today and ordered lunch to go, cup of crab soup and a cheese steak. Cheesesteak was bomb. Cheese perfectly melted, high quality ribeye. I scarfed half of it down before I remembered to take the picture. Crab soup was a bit disappointing. The flavor of it was really good. It was definitely lacking on the crab, though. It was like they just picked up the pot and whispered "crab" at it ‍ Would definitely go back and get another cheesesteak. Restaurant was clean and orderly, staff was friendly. Make sure you have your card on you because they don't take cash.

Sorry, not sorry, but this place is not it. Considered a loved local sandwich chain, Jetties boasts in having the 'best sandwiches in DC' - I was in the area, so I decided to go there during the lunch rush to grab a sandwich to go. I ordered: +the Nobadeer - a sandwich filled with roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo on a sourdough bread +made this a combo, so I got the Cape Cod chips and a canned soda The sandwich was just awful. The sourdough 'bread' was extremely stale and dry; not sure how this was even possible, as it was the lunch rush and you'd think that the items that are being turned out will be fresh? The 'roasted turkey' slices were dried out, and I was surprised that the description didn't say 'jerky' instead - these seemed to be not fresh or maybe not sealed well when placed in the fridge, as the edges of the 'meat' were hard and chewy. The stuffing was bland and a bit too mushy, and the cranberry with the mayo made the sandwich a little runny, which results in some parts of the bread becoming a bit too soggy (to the point it made holes in the parchment that was being used to wrap the sandwich). The prices for the sandwiches are on the steep end, but if the quality matched the cost, it would have been a different situation. If you order a combo, make sure you pick up the drink/chips on your own. You'll have to order via the 3 kiosks that are available, and then you just wait for your check number to be called. Items will be set on the counter. There are some seating inside as well as some tables for al fresco dining. There's limited restricted street parking available around the area. Really not sure where all these positive reviews are coming from, but seems a little sus. Probably one of the worst sandwiches I've had. No dice, Jetties. +stale, dried-out bread +old, dried-out deli meats +bland ingredients +limited restricted street parking available

Just stop by one of my FAVORITE places. Ordered me a Turkey, Bacon, Lettuce, Onion, Tomato, Swiss on Sourdough Bread. Food is always good!

I was at this place with few of my pickleball buddies. It was recommended by one of them as it's their usual sandwich place after a nice game of pickleball. It's a self serve type of restaurant. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with pickles. It was very delicious. Quantity is not much, but perfect for the price I paid. It was very juicy and the meat was very tender and flavorful. Since it's self serve place, there's not much to talk about their service. Ambiance is great. It's a combination of indoor and outdoor place. Nice outdoor patio was just perfect on a nice day. I ordered sorbet for the dessert. It was very good. Highly recommend their place if you're craving for nice sandwiches in the DC area.

I've driven past here probably a hundred times headed to the hospital and finally decided to stop for a quick lunch. My husband and I were both starving after a busy morning, so we were happy to walk in and see there wasn't a line and it wasn't too busy yet. We checked out the menu and went to the counter to order. We both decided to get hot sandwiches - he got one that was basically like Thanksgiving in sandwich form and I got the Dreamland. We also ordered some potato chips. Both sandwiches were ready after a 5-7 minute wait and we were ready to dig in. At first, my husband said his was okay, but later after finishing the 2nd half, he said it was really good. Mine was okay - I did like the turkey and cheese, and thought I'd like the fig spread, but it was a little too sweet for me. I also should have gotten more fixings, like avocado and spinach or something. The size of both though was pretty good - ate half for lunch and the other as part of dinner. Overall, it was a convenient spot to check out near the hospital/university.

Jetties has expanded, now there's 3 other locations in addition to this one. I'm not surprised! It gets crowded here almost as soon as it opens. Sammies are always fresh and well made. Tried one of the soups they've added. The New England clam chowder was below par, chewy. Due to its popularity, the wait has gotten to be longer than I like however it's still a reliable place to get a marvelous sammie.

Best sandwich shop. It would be nice if they bump the heat up. It was so cold inside.

Anyone who remembers this place from years ago remembers taking a number, waiting in line, and getting one of the best made-to-order subs in the region? The sandwiches were worth the wait. Maybe the parents moved back to Italia and the kids got stuck with the greedy landlord. Now its just a lazy we don't care overpriced landlord run revenue generator. 6 years after COVID and the subs are still pre-made dying in over stacked pile on the counter. The rolls are often soggy by the time they reach the customer, and the fillings are so thinly layered that each bite feels more like bread sandwich with some after thought what's inside. It screams KEEP THE COST DOWN. What was once a destination deli now feels like a place that's simply too tired to care. The decline reminds me of when DC bartenders traded free pours for jiggers. Less booze, higher prices, and a straight face while handing it to you 30 minutes later with a clever name like Adam's Apple. Same business model here. Less meat, more bread, and somehow we're all expected to clap. The saddest part is that it's still busy, largely because there are fewer and fewer alternatives. The independent mom-and-pop shops that gave this area character have been pushed out, and we're left with a shell of what this place used to be. At this point, I've had fresher and better-constructed subs from Harris Teeter. That's not meant as a compliment. When customers start comparing a legendary deli to a grocery store sandwich counter--and the grocery store holds its own--it's probably time for some serious soul-searching. Nostalgia can only carry a business so far. Unfortunately, the sandwich I had was living almost entirely on memories.
