It was really hard to flag them down for refills, etc. Medium Rare is a great brunch spot for the spring/summer time! Their outdoor patio is my favorite spot to be seated albeit they pack the tables like sardines. The steak frites with the peppercorn sauce is a must try. I'm not even a steak person, but as a saucy person, I love for this meal. The French toast is also crispy on the outside, yet soft and moist internally. We had a low key picky family member in town who only likes select things, one of which is steak...so we ended up here. If you have some meat and potato lovers, this place will hit. Overall, our table of five guests had a nice experience at Medium Rare. You cannot really beat all you can eat steak and pomme frites. This type of restaurant is prefect for folks who cannot decide what to eat. Why? The menu is pretty simple - steak, pomme frites, salad and bread. However, the restaurant does have a bit of variety when it comes to beer, cocktails, wines and desserts. Unlike most "fancy" steakhouses, Medium Rare has a pretty low-key vibe which makes it perfect for causal get togethers. Although our steaks were delicious, there were some minor issues with the preparation. For instance, there was about a 50/50 split between folks who requested medium rare and medium steaks. However, I'm pretty sure that all the steaks we received were medium. But considering that the kitchen is pumping out steaks (thin ones at that), I will not hold that against the restaurant too much. Also, it did not seem worth it to send the steak back. Although I'm team medium rare steaks, I can manage with medium. This was my second experience at Medium Rare (my 1st one was at the Arlington location), and I more than likely will return in the near future. I might be interested in checking out Medium Rare's brunch for a future visit. Oh before I forget, I thought the service team was prompt and very friendly. Excellent food and service. Loved that the prefix meal was so simple, but so good, and family-style serving (being able to have "seconds" of the steak and fries was lovely). I had eaten at the Medium Rare Arlington location a couple of years ago when visiting the area. I wanted my carnivorous husband and son get to enjoy the experience. For this trip, we had dinner at the Cleveland location. The two locations have a very different ambience, but both have consistency with service and food. The Medium Rare in Cleveland is conveniently located right off the Metro station. Parking in the area is a bit of a challenge. There is a parking lot across from the restaurant that starts at $20. The service at Medium Rare is efficient, friendly and engaging. Upon arrival, our waiters brought us water. After that, everything flowed smoothly. The fixed menu includes artisanal bread, salad, fries, and steak. The food is flavorful and essentially all you can eat. My husband and son were able to eat 2 plates full! This cost is pricey, but it's definitely an experience worth trying at least once. read more

They definitely had a decent crowd there, but it wasn't totally packed which was nice. Their brunch ($34.99) includes bread and butter, a starter (salad, fruit salad, or a yogurt parfait), an entree, and bottomless drinks (blood Marys, mimosas, or screwdrivers.) While my understanding is that their entree options for lunch and dinner are primarily steak frites, brunch has more of an array of choices. I opted for the parfait, Bloody Marys, and steak frites. Everything came out quickly, and they were very on top of drink refills (which can be hit-or-miss with bottomless places). I was there a little over an hour and had 4 Bloody Marys in that time, for context. My server was great and also kept my water filled consistently, which I appreciated. The parfait was good. I didn't expect it to have dried fruit on it, but it was actually really good and refreshing. The bread was nice and fresh as well. The Bloody Marys were also tasty, though they were fairly standard and didn't stand out amongst others I've had (which was fine). The fries were nice and crispy, and they came in a good portion. I really enjoyed them. And the steak was really tender. I don't usually use sauce on my steak, but theirs comes with their house sauce on it, and it was very tasty. It was savory but not overpowering. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Medium Rare!
