Came here twice and service and food was excellent on both occasions. Lovely ambiance and the place is pristine. We were seated right next to the kitchen where you could see the magic happen. It's a prix fixe meal and each course was delicious! Their house bread with lemon zest is the best. Great experience overall!

Michelin star, but for how much longer? So it's a four course tasting menu with a few options for each course that you get to pick from including a few little extras. As for drinks, there are a few different pairing options including a wine and alcohol free option. The wine option is 120 bucks which is a bit crazy to me given this is also the price of the tasting menu. That pairing gets you 4 half glasses of wine. So 2 total glasses for $120. Hard to see this as a good value and think they would do much better working in a tasting at $60 to $80. Smaller cocktail menu but quite a few well crafted options including an old fashioned fat washed with hazelnuts and a sazerac with a brown butter fat washed rye. I went for the sazerac, and while the presentation and glassware was very much on the bland side, the drink was fantastic. Smooth mild nuttiness while still having a direct spiciness from the rye. Amuse bouche - very nice, tuna tartar tartlet is my given name. Playful textures, great start. 1 - crudo - fantastic, best dish for sure. Lightly seared yellow tail in a tomato water broth so to speak. Cucamelon and some yellow tomatoes that tasted pickled added subtle tang while the tomato water added subtle acidity. Beautifully balanced over some crudos that can typically be in your face acidic. bread - incredible milk bread, think parker house roll with an avocado herb butter. could have eaten 2 more of these 2 - duck - cooked perfectly, though mild on flavor and a little bit tough. Morels are delicious though didn't quite go with the dish nor did the strawberry stuffed with pistachio. As a whole the dish felt disjoint. 3 - pork - very disappointing. Pork tenderloin was super bland, no sear, no flavor to the meat. The sausage would have made Jimmy Dean proud but not much else. Swiss chard, again nothing going on here, just there. Sauce was nice (guessing like a pork demi) but it wasn't enough to overcome the lack of flavor here. 4 - chocolate bomb - very smooth decadent chocolate mousse interior. Malted milk foam was barely there and barely foamed. A sliver of a quenelle of ice cream half melted and hardly noticeable in the rest of the dish. This one had so much potential. Chocolate bomb was perfect, but the rest failed to hold up to it. The malted milk would have been a really nice touch if noticeable, and a larger portion of ice cream could have actually paired nicely rather than melting into the background - literally. petite duo - finished with an orange financier, and a chocolate truffle. Financier was nice but the truffle was a bit too bitter and texturally masked by the nuts. Nothing to be remembered. Service was excellent though perhaps a bit too polished, felt like grandstanding and not a natural interaction. Pace was good except for the split between 2nd and 3rd course which stalled for somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes. Open kitchen is cool, but I imagine this limits some communication and probably contributed to the miss there. While there was a lot to like here, there was a lot that fell flat as well. At the Michelin level I'm looking for each dish to shine in texture, flavor, or creativity, hopefully all 3. Course 2 and 3 did not deliver in any of these areas. Heading 2 Michelin restaurants is no small feat, perhaps Lilo is the new baby in the house stealing all the attention. Sadly I don't think for me this is worth a return trip.

Jeune Et Jolie has amazing coastal vibes and service, but the food did not warrant its high prices. Despite it being a Wednesday evening, the restaurant was packed. Reservations required a credit card with a $50 no show fee. Since we were celebrating multiple occasions, the staff prepared a card for our table and treated us to a complimentary toast of Antilope, a non alcoholic sparkling beverage. Service was impeccable throughout the evening and their alcoholic beverages were strong and flavorful. *Sea Cow Oysters: I appreciated the rotating oyster selection. Our order came with mignonette, horseradish, and hot sauce. Although the mignonette looked peppery, it was fairly straightforward with shallot and vinegar notes. The oysters were cleanly shucked and carried a pleasant sweetness. However, I struggled to find what justified them costing nearly twice as much as others. *Amuse Bouche: ahi tuna, avocado, salt, and yuzu. This tiny bite collectively made us pucker. The tuna was quite cold, but its subtle sweetness still came through. *Crudo: one of my least favorite dishes of the night. The yellowtail was seared and served with tomato and cucamelon in a sour chilled broth. Unfortunately, the fish was overcooked, resulting in a dry, chewy texture that failed to absorb the vibrant broth. *Tartare: an excellent rendition of lamb. There was no gaminess whatsoever and the mustard seed added just a hint of sharpness. The incredibly tender meat contrasted beautifully with the bitter, acidic white asparagus. *Pain Et Beurre: warm, crusty bread with a steaming, fluffy interior. The avocado butter was not my favorite, as it created inconsistent pockets of richness, but the bread itself was one of the highlights of the meal. *Saint Jacques: scallop topped with rhubarb and turnip. I never would have considered pairing seafood with rhubarb, but I loved the complementary sweetness. The rhubarb added just enough crunch and tartness to tie everything together. *Canard: duck cooked perfectly medium rare alongside meaty morels and sweet strawberry. Each component was well executed, though I wished there was a stronger connection between the duck and mushrooms. The pistachio smear felt like an afterthought. *Oursin: very disappointing. Although there was a generous amount of sea urchin, the smoked tomato completely overwhelmed its natural sweetness and brininess. The tart shell and English peas were similarly unremarkable. This oddly reminded me of a lukewarm Hot Pocket. *Porc: pork prepared two ways with mulberry and chard. The pork chop paired well with the mulberry, while the sausage benefited from the chard. Unfortunately, the chop was slightly overdone and chewy, while the sausage was rather mushy. The dish needed more texture and a stronger sear. *Truite: the worst dish of the evening. The trout itself was silky and tender, but the skin was rock hard. Even our steak knife struggled to cut through it. The tangerine centered sauce and smoked components created a strange combination that was not cohesive. *Gateau De Crepes: we were warned that this dessert leaned savory, and I would agree. It resembled a thicker, pesto forward crepe. An interesting option for those who do not enjoy sweets. *Vacherin: strawberry prepared three ways and surrounded by meringue. It tasted like strawberry astronaut ice cream in the best possible way. The variety of textures made it one of the stronger desserts. *Final Bites: almond and kumquat bread alongside hazelnut confections. The almond bread was dense and fragrant, while the hazelnut bite resembled a Ferrero Rocher with a subtle alcoholic center. The service and cocktails were exceptional and easily the highlights of the evening. However, every member of my party was disappointed by at least one of their four courses. While we do not regret visiting, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to those seeking culinary excellence at this price point.

One Michelin Star, French-Californian restaurant and cocktail bar, Jeune et Jolie, is serving a dinner menu from their open kitchen in an intimate indoor, outdoor setting. Host, staff, and kitchen work in unison to welcome guests, announce orders, and deliver an experience. I haven't had a meal this amazing since...well, I can't even remember. This little gem is in Carlsbad and this was our first time dining with Jeune Et Jolie. If you have the time, try the four course tasting menu with the beverage pairing. We are not big drinkers and we went with our teens, so we all tried out the non alcoholic pairing. I love food. I love food experiences. This was a delicious food journey and I am thankful my family is always open to try things with me! Beautiful decor inside and out. We had made reservations and were sitting outside. It was like we had our own private seating area, even though there were other patrons. I didn't even notice them until I got up to wash my hands! If you want something more upbeat, inside seating looked like the place to be. Upbeat but relaxed and chill at the same time. The kitchen is mesmerizing and is out in the open so you can watch all the magic. Every member of the staff was SO welcoming from the moment you walk up. Our server Noah with the help of Chelsea led us on our food journey. They made it personal by learning each persons name & food style. Answered any questions and had the best recommendations. Ryan, the Sommelier had fun pairings. It was our first non alcoholic food pairing experience and he explained everything from ingredients and what flavors will bring out certain flavors in the food. He always followed up after each taste. There is literally an army of people taking care of you. The food...so many delicious & decadent layers of each dish. Fun combinations. Fresh, local ingredients. Perfectly seasoned. It was hard to pick one thing from each course! Each plate had a work of art, visually and flavors! I also liked the portions, not too big, not too small. We were able to even share bites with each other. Another fun thing, in the fourth course pairing in the Cerise & Cafe, the ice cube was actually clear without any imperfections. You don't see that every day and just shows the detail that goes into every single thing placed on your table. Already have the menu on my radar to watch for new dishes to go down to try!

We had a delightful experience visiting this restaurant. The food was truly amazing, and the service was wonderful. The environment was also very pleasant, and everything was beautifully presented. Parking was convenient, as there was a spacious parking area behind the restaurant. My only suggestion, while appreciating all aspects of our visit, concerns the 4% service fee charged for employee health insurance. It felt a bit out of place to itemize this on the bill, and the option for customers to request its removal seemed rather unprofessional. While I am happy to tip 20% for excellent service, an additional 4% specifically for employee healthcare felt somewhat excessive. The restaurants should build it in to their food. The customers should not have to incurred this cost. That's why some LA restaurants lost customers because of this fee.

Jeune is such a beautiful French restaurant that is well deserving of their Michelin star! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the best staff who made my birthday celebration 100 out of 10! They had the beautiful idea of providing a bouquet of exotic flowers for our table from the florist next-door. This wonderful surprise made the entire experience! Even the hostess said that she took the time out of her day before the restaurant opened to run over to their sister restaurant to find a vase to put them in! Every bit of this restaurants details for my special day was so meaningful and I can't thank you enough! The dinner menu is set up in four courses where you get to choose one dish from each course. The chef surprised us with a special additional first appetizer that was mind blowing! Each dish we chose lit up a new taste bud on our palate! Every dish just riddled with in an array of intriguing nuances in each bite. We were told by our waitress that each dish is curated from locally sourced produce and meats, so the menu is always evolving and changing. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience and we are so excited to come back and try a different menu!

What an enjoyable culinary experience! Watching the entire kitchen in action was both a treat and the highlight of the evening. I had a great view, though my partner's vantage point was more limited. The four-course menu was beautifully presented and delicious throughout. The non-alcoholic pairing complemented each dish perfectly and was well worth it. We were also pleasantly surprised by a few extra treats at both the beginning and end of the meal. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and there was no pressure to upsell additional items. Definitely will return for special occasions.

Magnificent!!! The service 5 stars , the atmosphere so beautiful, and the food ...each bite was better than the next!! Started with a welcome cocktail followed by the artistry that is called a meal! From crudo, to tartare, trout, scallops, and Wagyu sooooooooooo delicious! Best place to celebrate an anniversary!

There's a reason that this is a Michelin starred restaurant, the place is simply amazing! The quality of food & service is impeccable! First of all, I appreciate the casual vibe with rose touches throughout. I loved watching the food preparation at the open kitchen that was directly in front of us. From the amuse bouche to the after dinner candy and cookie, I loved every entree! For the four course menu I chose - Crudo - Super fresh with a light and delectable sauce Cabillaud - Black Cod was perfectly cooked, tender and flaky. Truite - Trout with the sauce was the perfect pairing. Caramel Normande - This actually tasted like deconstructed apple pie! I also enjoyed the after dessert cookie and candy. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and I would come back again to try another menu! It's definitely a must do for both locals and tourists!

Crudo - sea bream, celery, champagne, sorrel. Refreshing!

Came here with my husband for a date, and it was such a cute restaurant! We both had the set dinner menu. We both thought the food was very good, and I was full at the end of it, but my husband said it wasn't filling to him. It comes in four courses with little bites in between, and it's nice that you get to try a bit of everything. There is a big variety. The service was very good, and the staff were super friendly. Overall a great experience. Only criticisms were that it was pretty cold that day and the space heaters don't help all that much, so my husband and I were both shivering throughout dinner. And also, be warned that they automatically add a surcharge to your check, not including tip. You can ask for it to be waived, but I personally find this kind of awkward.

My wife and I had a marvelous time dining here. The vibes are upscale and pure elegance. The decor is pristine and for a minute I felt like I was back in the French Riviera. Service is amazing, the staff is kind and very friendly. Decor-5/5 stars! Service-5/5 stars! Food-3/5 stars. The food was a bit of a disappointment, but maybe our expectations were too high considering the Michelin Star. Noting really stood out above normal . We'd love to come back and have drinks at bar and watch the action again.

Excellent food with a laid back vibe. One of San Diego area's Michelin starred restaurants, Juene et Jolie is an amazing place for a date, a celebration or just a nice meal. Located in Carlsbad, the restaurant is has a small indoor space and a large patio. Tables are far enough away that you aren't listening in to someone else's conversation all night. Reservations are available online. For dinner they offer a 4 course prix fixe menu. The menu changes regularly, however, every time I've been here the food has been excellent. The prix fixe menu has 4 courses. There are a selection of 3 options for each course. The concept behind the menu is well thought out. The black cod with persimmon was a highlight as was the pork with quince, turnup and walnut. The combination of the sweet and savory flavors hit the spot perfectly. Service here is good. Not crazy like some places, but good and laid back. Drinks were refilled on time. The wait staff was super friendly and chatty. They added to the ambience nicely. If you're looking for a nice meal in the San Diego area this is an amazing option.

I was pleasantly surprised by the chewy texture of the complimentary bread offered at Paon, and one bite took me back to the streets of Paris where I strolled along the Seine River munching on my baguette. Our waiter only offered one small piece each, so I had to ask for a second piece. If my meal were just the bread alone, this would have been a 5-star review. Unfortunately, my dining experience declined after the bread... I ordered the Organic Beet Salad, and it was a disappointing stack of 3 round pieces of beets, each 1/4 inch thick and 2 inches in diameter, topped with arugula and small pieces of pistachios sparsely scattered on the plate. My friend and I looked at each other and asked, "what happened to the rest of the salad?!" Seriously, $21 for 3 pieces of beets?? My friend ordered the French Onion Puree for $19 and got a regular sized serving so we continued to ponder what happened to my beet salad. It was the joke of the evening. This dish was an unconventional spin off the traditional French onion soup, and sadly, while it was a creative idea, it failed to deliver in taste. My favorite thing about French onion soup is the gooey gruyere cheese. There was a small dollop of melted brie on top and that was it. It was a disappointment, but not nearly as sad as my beet salad. For my entree, I ordered the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass $55. The fish was very tender, but the dish itself was extremely buttery and oily. I ordered this dish because I wanted something healthy, but it turned out to be a very heavy dish. The basil beurre blanc was just too overwhelmingly rich. My friend ordered the Seared Rare Hawaiian Yellowfin Tuna $52. The execution on this dish was better than mine. For dessert, we shared a Creme Brulee $18. We did not like this dessert because it was room temperature and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. We like it chilled but with the hard sugary glaze. The top wasn't torched enough. Overall, while we enjoyed the ambiance, we did not really care for the food (except the amazing bread). Seeing how much we enjoyed the bread, it would've been nice had our waiter been more generous and offered us more bread. A good server would be more proactive and not wait to be asked.

It was also my first pizza from them. I ordered the Salsiccia pizza which has a sweet fennel sausage on it. The sausage tasted homemade. Perfectly seasoned. We got several pasta dishes which were perfectly served al dente. The order was packaged neatly and prepared on time. The staff is friendly and welcoming as always. Love this place. The food is reminiscent of my Nonna's cooking.

Incredibly gritty and had hard pieces of something in it that we had to spit out. The ravioli pasta was good, the stuff in it was truly disgusting. Again so bad all this time we've chosen other places to dine because of that one dish and whatever hard things were in it along with that gritty finely grounded chicken. So anyways the rating now is for my experience now. The above is just why it took me so long to try this place again. Service was great! Over the phone so nice and in person welcoming and friendly. Great staff here. Blonde is who helped me. Another dark haired lady even asked if I'd been helped and even with her serving was willing to help if I hadn't yet been helped but I had been helped so no need. Super great two ladies. Thank you both. Just had to wait a short bit for my food and to pay. $30+ for it. I had a bday coupon of $5 and $7 still on my account from all that time ago. Lady stepped in to put those discounts. Wonderful! The bag of my food was so light I looked inside because seemed nothing was in it. But it has my to go food in it so off I went. We live super close and got home, opened it but it was just warm. Not hot. Odd but well I was able to eat it right away. The sauce was oily butter tasting. The cheese on it tasted like plastic and the dish was missing the prosciutto sadly. Inside the pasta and the pasta itself was yummy! Sad the sauce was oily butter, no other flavor but oily. The pasta was smaller than before, still only 5 pieces of pasta, at $30+ for this ouch! Even after my discount $20+ was still not worth it. Bummer. The other time I had this dish it was all so good, the sauce and prosciutto etc. I am not saying we won't ever return, service is great. Looked over reviews, yes it's cramped inside and you are on top of others unless you get the booth, so I recommend the booth. We enjoyed our dine in experience time ago, only the chicken ravioli was gross, the soup was just ok but the rest was great. After today's experience I won't be repeating the tortellini. Maybe calamari and pizza next visit, but pasta portions n flavor lack too much to attempt other dishes. Just my thoughts. Again great staff!

The ambiance transports you. Dark woods, a central fireplace, and candlelit tables that make everything feel intentional and just right. The food, drinks, and service all delivered. One of my friends said it was on par with French Laundry. iykyk. I am intentionally leaving out the details because I think the discovery is part of what makes dining here so special. You can piece it together from the other reviews. What I will say is that anything less than five stars is simply undeserved. We will not forget this one.

We've been to many Michelin stars restaurants but the first experience was never like this. Usually, we'd be offered a seat or the bar while we waited. Our parties were finally arrived so we were seated out on the patio. Can't complain much since we had live summer concert from the beach and the sun kissing your skin. We were offered a refreshment drink which tasted refreshing. Champagne and caviar service came after. The condiments that came with the caviar service were spot on but the vessels they were in were too big, the spoons were too chunky for the tiny diced egg whites, yokes, shallots and chives. The summer menu was much better compared to the fall menu. We enjoyed the foods thoroughly. Final bill were 2,400 for a party of five with no wine pairing. Unfortunately, this would be our last time dining here. Since the experience from reception turned us off which dampened a more superior service from the patio and the main dining room.

I started off my meal with: Roasted Cauliflower Soup - Rich and creamy, this was the perfect start for my meal. Kim Chee Seafood Martini - Not sure why this is called Kim chee because it didn't taste like Kim Chee. Seafood was fresh. Pork Schnitzel- Fried pork cutlet with green beans that were perfectly crisp, although a tad bit salty for me. Although it came with a brown butter sauce, a bit more of a creamy sauce for this dish to provide something for the diner to dip the cutlet in would make this dish even better. Fried egg was perfectly cooked. Red Wine Braised Short Rib- I tried this and it was super tender! Truffle Fries (add on) - This was fried perfectly but would have preferred more truffle flavoring. Warm Chocolate Caramel Cake - Definitely warm and rich! I couldn't finish! Service was great and staff were super friendly. I would definitely return to try some of their regular menu items!
