I was lucky enough to be invited to a dinner party at this iconic French restaurant. I've never been here, so I was excited to try this place for the first time. From the time I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with a delicious Rose while we waiting for the rest of the party. Once everyone arrived, we were seated at our table, which definitely felt intimate and allowed for table conversations. First of all, the service here, headed by Marco, was flawless. I dropped my napkin and a new, folded one appeared in front of me. I had my purse behind me and they brought out a small stool situated next to me for my purse to sit on. The wine and water was constantly filled, without having to raise a finger. We had the pre fixe Local Farms Harvest Winter 5 course dinner. Amuse - Silky and flavorful, this was a great palate opener. Farm Harvest Salad - I actually loved the Humboldt log! Black Perigold Truffle Risotto - Risotto was rich and creamy and it was amazing with the truffle! Ramona Duck Confit Duckling - To be honest, not a big fan of duck but this was pretty good! It was tender and crispy on the outside. Chino's Farm Strawberry Panna Cotta - Beautifully plated and silky. I loved the butterflies throughout! So elegant and tasteful. The meal ended with lemon macarons, which was a nice finish to a great meal. Definitely felt well taken care of while enjoying great company. Would definitely return again.

We can't imagine a visit to SoCal without stopping and enjoying a wonderful dinner at Mille Fleurs in Rancho Santa Fe. Sean, our server, has helped us navigate the menu and wine list for many years. We love sitting out in the magical court yard while savoring our delicious meals. The twinkle lights in the trees, the soft sound of the water fountain, and the impeccable service make every year's visit memorable and the growing excitement of the next year's visit.

I'm going to be honest with this review which may look different than the reviews that I've read on Yelp. We chose Mille Fleurs to celebrate a friend's 90th birthday because he loves the piano bar and live singer, and for that purpose, it absolutely delivered. This alone made the night worth it. The setting is refined and elegant, with warm (dim) lighting, crisp white linens to create an unmistakably upscale, "special occasion" atmosphere. Romantic. Classic charm. (Think: Fancy pants style) I imagine that people have made some beautiful memories there. That said, Mille Fleurs leans hard into the fancy, fine-dining vibe. While I can appreciate that some people might be looking for that high-end experience, I wouldn't come here with small kids or a group of girlfriends planning to laugh over cocktails. The space feels too cramped for that, and It seems that everyone can hear each other's conversations. I did notice that "regulars" were greeted warmly by the host/management while others were barely acknowledged (if at all), which you can probably interpret a few different ways. The drinks were beauuuuutifully presented but shockingly overpriced, and service, while polite, wasn't particularly quick or friendly. One big problem : The bathrooms were dim, unkept, and felt out of place in such an elegant space. I feel like if you're going to shoot for an ambience of elegance, you've gotta make sure that the paper towels are always filled, and the bathroom stalls lock. Parking in the neighborhood was another inconvenience. TLDR: If you're craving an upscale, old-school French dining experience, Mille Fleurs delivers , but don't expect it to feel casual or welcoming.

Had an amazing dining experience at Mille Fleurs! The 4-course menu was incredibly delicious and very reasonably priced. The main course, in particular, was absolutely flawless. What truly blew us away was the service; we tend to eat at a faster pace, and the staff intuitively matched our tempo without us even having to ask. Exceptional food and seamless pacing!

This is an old-school restaurant tucked in the heart of RSF that has been there for years. Our party of 8 was greeted by many attentive waiters and staff, along with kisses and hugs welcoming us from the owner. We had a back room to ourselves and had incredible service. The decor is older, but it fit the vibe and we loved it. We had a bit of everything to eat and it was all delicious. We started with caviar, escargot, fresh bread and beet salads and entrees included miso black cod, steaks and French onion soup. We had excellent wine and champagne service and anyone that needed a cocktail was catered to perfectly. Timing seemed a bit off with items taking a while in the kitchen, but that was fine because our group was a blast. However, we were anxious to finish our meal so we could get to karaoke that started in the bar attached. It was a wonderful and special night!

We came here to celebrate a much needed date night. I picked Mille Fleurs because of their well thought out menu, I knew we wouldn't be disappointed. The service was next level. I just want to thank the staff for such an amazing experience. We often go out to eat and are left with such disappointment and mediocre service and it was nice to experience a place that truly cares about their customers. From the moment we walked in and were greeted and walked to our table, to our awesome server, bussers, everyone seemed happy to be there and give you a great dining experience. If you're looking for really great quality food and an overall great experience this is the place! Thank you Mille Fleurs!

I looove eating outdoors so the setting was perrrfect. When it was time to order, I went inside to place it at the counter. But today I needed a little extra je ne sais quoi because my morning was annoying, so I decided to splurge on lunch and not just a pastry here. I asked Steve, the (très beau et gentille!) co-owner what the quiche of the day was. There were two: one with jambon (ham) and one with épinards et fromage de chèvre (spinach and goat cheese). When I hesitated, he told me that the spinach one was amazing. Even though it's $20 for a quiche plate, I decided to go for it. I thought I was going to get a sad little quiche slice for that amount and might regret it. But OMG, it was more than worth it! Already they have a lovely patio on this pretty street in this fancy design district. But it was also a HUGE and exceptionally savory rectangular slice, alongside a DELECTEABLE petite salade. I asked Steve what mustard they use in the vinaigrette, and he said plain old Dijon - but the proportions and the seasoning were EXCELLENT. So it was salad perfection, not heavily dressed at all, just delightful. The patio was full on a Friday with ladies who lunch - but did that include me, as a solo diner, since I am a lady who had lunch? I'm not sure, but you can feel comfortable here no matter what. And now I know Madeleine Cafe is much too good to just come for coffee and for ordering in French from Steve or his co-owner Emmanuel. I don't want to spend that much for lunch every day - but I'll be back!

And this was apparently the same for the group of 3 teenagers and a parent right next to me some time after I had had a glass of wine plus two appetizers. We were seated pretty close and got the pleasure of feeling parenthood vs no kids. Silently rolling my eyes and wishing I was seated elsewhere, thankful they left. My appetite was met with the burrata and cauliflower appetizers. I started with a white wine and was told it was a Sauvignon Blanc from Santa Maria. After tasting the wine.. I knew it was not from Santa Maria... it was Santa Rosa... totally different wine growing appellation and flavor profile. I understand that mistakes can happen. So, i drove from Long Beach. Champagne Bakery is a small french Bakery and café. It is located in a very charming Spanish mediterranean white building with terra cotta roof tiles and a large courtyard with lots of tables under market umbrellas, reminiscent of a European small town square. The seating is almost exclusively all outdoors for the exception of a couple of small tables inside. There is plenty of parking out front. The menu has a lot to offer and is centered around french Café classics such as the French Onion soup, the Croque Monsieur and the Niçoise Salad. But they also have omelettes, paninis, savory and sweet crepes, soups, and more. They have lots of daily baked goods including baguettes, pastries, cake by the slice as well as whole cakes, coffees etc (see full menu in photos) I tried the broccoli cheddar soup for the first time. It comes with a piece of French roll. It was creamy and flavorful. I also got an omelette with spinach, mushroom and Swiss cheese. It comes with either salad or breakfast potatoes as well as a piece of french roll. I got the potatoes extra crispy. Everything tasted really good. My father ordered his all time personal favorite. The Niçoise salad and my mother ordered a soup and sandwich combo. We all enjoyed our food outdoors on a breezy and beautiful sunny day. The manager and staff members were super friendly and accommodating and Prices are reasonable. I wish we lived closer. I would visit more often. The owner was present during our visit and was very kind and welcoming, which deserves real kudos. The staff was also attentive and on top of things throughout the meal. Service was not an issue at all. Where this stops short of five stars for me is the indoor dining experience. Even with a reservation, the seating felt very tight. Close enough that I could hear every single detail of the conversation happening at the table next to us. No judgment on them, but I did not need to be spiritually invited into their dinner party. Because it was a cool evening, outdoor seating wasn't really an option, which made the cramped indoor space more noticeable. This might be something to keep in mind during colder months. I could see this place being much more enjoyable when the patio is in play. That said, I did enjoy myself, and I'm not disappointed. I just think the combination of price point, cozy-but-tight seating, and comfort-food-forward menu didn't quite push it into five-star territory for me. And to be fair, I'm generally stingy with five stars. Four stars feels right. Beautiful space, kind ownership, attentive staff, and good food. Just go in with calibrated expectations and a tolerance for close quarters.
