First time buying a home and I am not impressed. They were very pushy about getting my documents and deposit in ASAP. Everything had to be done on their time. Any questions I had were brushed off. And if I kept asking, I was given a poor explanation. This is the largest purchase of my life, and I did not feel like anything was properly explained. So thank goodness for Google! Since closing on my home, connecting to get answers has proved to be difficult. Currently I'm trying to reach them to send a change of ownership report to the OC Assessor (which I know I've filled out and believe should have already been sent out). I question the competency of the people working here and am shocked by their positive reviews. I would not recommend this place. read more

We made an offer on a property. The seller/seller broker selected this company... Nothing unusual yet. We opened escrow... and it was really like opening a can of worms dealing with them! It is a poorly ran escrow company. Their processes are still from 1995 - they might be legal, but primitive. But this is not the issue, but it is worth mentioning. Now the owner is arrogant. She will not respond to emails, and refuses to take phone calls most of the time. When she does, she is rude and combative. Her emails are in ALL CAPS and big font. She thinks she is god. She should know that an escrow officer is to follow the law and directions and not to take sides. But she doesn't seem to know. The staff are borderline rude and are poorly trained as well. I am in awe to how they are still in business. I guess fake reviews work My recommendation is to stay away from Jewel Escrow at any price. read more

Linda is the bomb-digity! On my most recent transaction, the seller wanted a Mandarin speaking escrow officer, and so after seeing all the great reviews, the seller chose this escrow company. Linda was our escrow officer. She is AMAZING!! I've done plenty of escrows in my years in this field and she's hands down the best I've encountered. She was patient, considerate, very knowledgeable and efficient at her job. The sellers and buyers both had a ton of questions, and she professionally and kindly answered every question and took the time to explain everything. During the escrow, different issues came up and she was very good at being resourceful and finding a quick effective solution to each issue. She was consistently responsive and communicative, and was very clear on what needed to be done making all the tasks very easy to accomplish. Escrow fees were very reasonable. seriously worst customer service ever. to start with, they never gave me the complete HOA minutes, rules and regs package. understand this, they DO have the correct package they just never "bother to give it to me". somehow within the first week i already violate some rules that i didn't know about. called the HOA to give me the correct rules and the house title wasn't even changed yet. my house is still listed as owned by the previous owner. if i didn't find out because of the violation, i bet it'd never get done. same thing again with tax payment. i know people consider property tax payment deadline as common knowledge, but I moved to America by myself and never owned a house in my life, I don't understand why the escrow company didn't take the time to explain about tax situaion at all. I had to get a penalty first to learn about all the knowledge. AND that's because there's some error that LA county tax dept wouldn't own up to and blame me for not getting the tax info from escrow company. honestly all this kicking around responsibility really throws me off. jewel escrow never bothered to help. read more

I had a very bad experience with Jewel Escrow, specifically with Linda Cheng. I was in the process of purchasing a home and sent Jewel Escrow $10,000 earnest money deposit. One day later we backed out of the purchase for personal reasons. Jewel escrow did not get back to me or my agent for one week to send the standard cancellation paperwork (fine that's ok I understand things get delayed. But little did I know this was only one of many issues I'd see with them). Once we finally heard back, I signed the paperwork and sent it back to them and again we didn't hear a word back- no acknowledgement, nothing. I called them three days later and left a message. FIVE days after my message was left Linda called back and let me know they received my signed statement but there was an error in the cancellation paperwork- there needed to be an amendment made and it needed to be sent back to all parties for review and signature again... I immediately filled out the amended paperwork and emailed it back to Linda. I asked her to send me an email as soon as the check was mailed out so I can keep an eye out for it (I recently had surgery and medical bills are piling up so this money had a specific purpose). Again....I heard nothing from them. NINE days after no response from them (AGAIN) I call Linda and ask her for an update and she basically admits that she ignored my email. She could clearly tell I was disgruntled and sent the check out that day. I finally have my funds back and can pay my medical expenses. It took her less than 3 minutes to respond to my email after we hung up to let me know the process was complete the same day. Why wasn't this just done in the first place??? I had to babysit this whole process through completion and to top it off they charged me $25 for this whole fiasco which they deducted from my refund. I was left in the dark not knowing if and when I'd receive my funds back. I would not recommend Jewel escrow for any services- if they can't even handle a simple refund who knows how badly they can mess up some other transaction. Their customer service is beyond horrible. Just amazing! Well, how can I start? I was addressed to Sandee from my Real Estate Agent for my house purchase. I had just sold my old house with an other escrow office and I had an exchange 1031. For some reasons I was extremely stressed and skeptical. At that time I met Sandee. It was like God sent her to me. The first thing that I noticed was her professionalism and her experience.
