a grocery store shelf filled with drinks

I went here recently and I must say that it was a good experience. The store was clean and it was not crowded inside. They have a nice and organized selection of everything and most of it are well stocked but some are out of stock. This is not my frequent store but most of the things that I needed are available. Staffs are friendly. The prices are reasonable and some are even on sale. Overall the store was nice and a bit impressive. I would probably chose to have my groceries in here sometimes.

Friendly, Clean and so many great deals with the free members card. If you are ever lonely then I suggest walking into the spacious Vegetable/Cold Cuts section and you'll be amongst other Jewel Osco peeps. Suggest visiting Jewel Daily because they not only have their great sale items there are also some clearance products that are 50% off (Mostly in the bathroom supply/make-up isles). A great selection of fresh vegetables... just aim for the sale items because the normally priced stuff will be on sale in no time!

Can't socially distance because too many people in the store and only 3 checkout lanes are open.

I called this store because I wanted to ask a question. I was never transferred to the correct department. They won't answer the phone.

Under construction. Very unorganized. Aisle 10 did not have the hand-soap as an associate instructed me to the aisle to check .

Way better than a couple years ago! The produce department has come alive! I find myself buying apples here nearly each week.

Now that I live outside of Chicago proper, I no longer have access to some of the specialty markets and grocery stores I used to frequent. Meijer tends to meet my needs when it comes to grocery, home products, casual clothing, personal care products, and gardening. Two things that stand out the most was their gardening products. I had started gardening, so seeds, plant food, gardening soil, and other gardening items were reasonably priced. Being a pescatarian, there vegetables worked for me. But now that I grow my own, the gardening catalog worked perfectly for me. As to grocery, although there has been spike in grocery prices, they were not as high as I noted at other grocery stores. It helps that I take advantage of coupons, specials, and price reductions thanks to participating in their perks program. This store serves four immediate suburbs, so it tends to get busy on weekends, for sure. I go during the middle of the day when I work from home through the week. I have yet to go and not find what I needed. And because I am a very picky shopper, primarily from the perimeter of the grocery store, I have not been disappointed in what they have.

So I asked the gal at the bakery counter if I could place an order and she looked at me and said 'I don't know if you want to, I guess' . I said 'oh I said if you're busy, I'll come back' . I asked how much time she needed for me to come back and she said I'm the only one here. When I mentioned, I tried to order online. She said I don't know why you're having a problem. We're getting online orders. She was not willing to help me. It was one of the worst experiences I've had at Meijer and Meijer is my favorite store. I just said that I will go to Strack and Van Til to place my order and she said 'fine go do that'. For reference this was Sunday 5:20 PM, June 28.

I am also for buying whatever I can from Caribbean and West African businesses, so I stopped in to see what this small grocery store offered. They have all the grocery products that I like to use in my cooking. So, this was a plus. Their products are more for Nigerian cooking than they are for Ghanaian cooking. I still know how to work those ingredients into my own cooking. As to their hot plates, I ordered a plate of egusi with chicken and beef. I ordered some jollof rice to go with it. I will not bother to go back to Chicago's North Side for egusi at an of the restaurants there. What I had at Sesi reminded me of what a college classmate's family had served when I went to Abuja with him years ago. I must say that I loved the jollof rice. Those who laugh about the jollof rice wars may find humour in my assessment. The rice is blooming delicious. There are other Nigerian dishes that I will eventually get around to trying. The egusi is simply the winner for now.
