My sisters and I pieced together some of the events of that day and we are very thankful to the store director and the employees in particular that performed CPR in an effort to save my brother. We are also thankful to the police officers that relieved them until the EMS arrived. And we are thankful to any other employees and customers that may have tried to help him or said prayers for him and our family. My sister put together what happened from the police report and from a Facebook connection. Small world that it is, one of my cousin's co-workers was a customer in the store at that time. She told my cousin about what happened in the store on Christmas Eve and then my cousin realized she was talking about my brother. As for the rest of the store, my experience was pretty brief, since I was mainly there to grab some seafood for dinner. I really liked that the weekly ad for Vitamin Water was BEFORE you got to the check out, with the opportunity to grab a bottle right there. (At the Jewel location I left recently, the ad was posted by the cashier. Like I'm going to hold up the line to send a bagger to go get me some Vitamin Water. I asked the cashier if people actually do that and he said, "No, it's a terrible spot for an ad. We try to tell them upstairs, but you know. You can't tell them anything.) Point being, I will not return to that Jewel. Especially when this beautiful store is only slightly farther from my home. (You will never guess it) MOLD ON THE DAMN TORTILLAS! i call the store outraged and explain what happened and they said bring it back for a refund. You have to wait 10 seconds for it to go away to scan your next item and as soon as you bag that the obnoxious notice is back. I assume this is some kind of loss prevention thing but if you're that paranoid about someone stealing at the checkout then get rid of the kiosks and hire more checkers. And dont leave the self checkout as the only option at night. The only reason I ever went here was if I needed something later at night. Instead, from now on, I'm gonna drive the mile to the 24 hour Jewel Osco who don't call me a thief or waste my time.

When i shop at a store i want to be greeted pleasantly, not ever in that manner especially if I'm spending my hard earned money.
