I usually don't go to busy places, but Trader Joe's is the exception. Everyone is so kind and friendly there - customers and staff alike! I'm so excited that Fall has arrived, meaning there is Fall themed decor and products everywhere. There are so many amazing foods to buy from here, but today I was just doing a quick pick up of a few staples like bread. Oh, and I almost forgot that just outside the restrooms are two bulletin boards with the Trader Joe's crew pets! Awwww! And how fun is it that right after you check out in line, there's a kids' area where they can grab a lollipop and awesome Trader Joe's stickers?!?

Although this location I find to be busier than many others, I can some times feel overwhelmed by the amount of folks that are in the store but the staff is so great about getting folks what they need to help ease the stress. The staff is also great at making recommendations for new menu items and classics. They have great premade salads, like the miso salmon and the lemon orzo that are often a staple in our rotation of lunches. As I always enjoy a tour de Trader Joe's I will be sure to come back and visit soon to find more goodies to try.

I don't love monopolies, unless I am winning at the board game. So I look up cheap grocery stores, and other than Aldi, Food4Less came up. I found one not too far away from me and decided to venture up there. I walked through the doors and some of the first merchandise I see has the Kroger logo. Go figure. Where it comes to this specific grocery store, variety is one of the items that cost it points Their selection was fair, but the deli department is notably small, and there is no visible butcher shop (though there are meats and seafood for sale). You can more or less find everything you would need among these notably very wide aisles, but perhaps some items would require one to go elsewhere. Among the items they had, the store appeared clean and well stocked. When it comes to their prices, while nothing is cheap anymore, especially in Chicagoland, I found their prices were a little lower than average, especially for the eggs. When it comes to the customer service, this could also be a little bit better. While there was no one at the customer service desk, it had a little sign that said that this register is closed. So... if you need to return something or if a price isn't right, what then? You're just out of luck or something? I'd also like to note that this is a place where you bag your own groceries. Not a problem, necessarily, just thought I'd put it out there. Thus, while I appreciate the lower prices, the slightly limited selection and the lack of customer service cost Food4Less a couple points. Still respectable though, and I can still see myself coming back on occasion.

I don't get everything from here, but I do love their bakery and deli. I always like to see the different items they have, and I really like that they stock bakery items from local bakeries. I love that they have Do-rite donuts ($2.39 each) daily and that no matter what time I stop in, the donuts are always soft and fresh. They do usually have a few gluten-free on hand too. They also have items from their own bakery such as danishes, muffins, scones (from Hot Cakes Bakery in Northbrook) and croissants, etc. I get the croissants often and they are really good. The bagels are also another reason I stop in. I believe they are from 'Once Upon a Bagel' bagel shop. They are soft and fluffy and fresh daily for $1.25. They carry the standard flavors - Plain, Wheat, Egg, Everything, Cinnamon Raisin, Chocolate Chip, Sesame, Poppy, Pumpernickel, Corn Rye and Onion. They also have bialys which are also great. They have cheesecake slices from the Cheesecake Factory and various Palermo bakery cake slices and desserts. I've seen them stock things from other bakeries such as the Baking Institute, Carol's Cookies, Leonard's Bakery, Sweet Thing Bake Shop, Killer Brownie and others that I can't remember the name of. Their own bakery makes very good cakes too - we've gotten a lamb cake for Easter as well as other various cakes and coffee cakes and everything has been good. They have a very good deli selection with a lot of prepared foods. If you were hungry and wanted something quick, there are a lot of foods available you can grab. You can get soup, hot bar, sushi - which is some of the best grocery store sushi (they make it there), salads, sandwiches and lots of other miscellaneous foods. They also have some deli meats packaged so you don't have to wait in the deli line. They also have a really nice selection of precut fruits and vegetables for convenience. This review is already a lot longer than I intended, so I'll wrap it up here, but it's overall a great store in the area. The workers have always been friendly and I always find something that I don't see everywhere else which keeps me coming back to discover new things. I politely questioned why several traditional Balkan cookies in the bakery were all labeled "Serbian," when many of these desserts are shared across Balkan cultures, including Bosnia, and are not exclusively Serbian. Instead of simply discussing my concern, the employee who made the signs approached me aggressively and asked if I "had a problem with it." She then told me she didn't care if I ever bought the cookies. I spoke with the manager expecting a more professional response, but unfortunately, his attitude was no better. He raised his voice and told me he didn't care whether I purchased anything there either. I left feeling humiliated, discriminated against, and completely unwelcome. Regardless of anyone's opinion about how these products should be labeled, there is absolutely no reason to treat a customer this way for respectfully raising a cultural concern. After this experience, I will not return to this location, and neither will my family. Management should seriously address how customers are spoken to and treated.
