I LOVE Jewel Salon and Spa! At first I was a client and loved the energy and space - Tanya gives the best haircut ever! - and then I had the opportunity to teach a couple of workshops in there on Reiki and spirituality. Clients find the Makawao location to be convenient. Jewel Salon and Spa is right across from Rodeo General Store right in the heart of Makawao. Parking is always close. The owner, Jen, is accommodating and personable and has created a space that's not only nurturing, but also healing for body, mind, and spirit. She does massage and facials and I'm excited to schedule my massage with her this month because she is offering a bonus scalp massage with my service. It feels so good to pamper and nurture myself. I had the most incredible massage here yesterday. Jen, the owner, was my therapist. I love deep tissue massage and boy did she go deep! She worked out all the kinks in my neck and shoulders and asked several times for feedback on the amount of pressure, which I really appreciated. Her energy is so healing and so is the spa itself. Its beachy and casual decor is really comfortable... There's nothing stuffy about this space! A really nice extra touch was I had a choice of scent for the massage oil which I think we're essential oils. I chose sweet orange, lime and coconut... It was delicious smelling!! The spa also sells tons of natural products, handmade jewelry and some clothing, all of which seemed high quality and reasonable priced. Speaking of pricing, their massage prices are great, especially for this island. Overall I really loved this place. I'm going back for a facial next week! read more

Jewel Salon and Spa is truly a gem on the Island. I spent Friday afternoon there with Cheri and Jen. Cheri did a spectacular job on my hair, I have very curly hair and it's also gray and the cut she gave me put back the bounce in my step! I Felt way younger. Cheri also had great advise on on how to keep my white hair bright. You'll need to go see her for that. The wax session with Jen was super gentle and comfortable, I love the product that she uses. Jen is really in the know when it comes to skin and hair care too! She helped me pick out the right skin products for me that are all natural and makes my face feel fresh and glowing. Jen was also helpful on my moms hair condition and I left with knowledge and products to help my mom look better too. I love their spa and style. I was so impressed with Jewel Salon and Spa. The minute I walked in I was greeted with warm smiles and offered something to drink and ushered to my chair. Chloe did an amazing job on my over bleached out hair from paddling Canoe. I had gone in 2 other times before. The owner Jenn gave me this amazing deep tissue massage. I was very tight and sore from paddling and she fixed me right up! After that Sherri did high lights and low lights on my hair. She blended everything in. (even my grey hair) It seems whoever worked on me the quality is very high. All 3 women were very professional. I love the beach theme the Salon has and its very clean and tidy. I have had my haircut a few times at Jewel, I have had both Cheri and Tanya, and decided to try a massage as well during my last visit, and I felt incredible. It was a deep tissue, finally, I have searched all over the island to get the right pressure of a deep tissue massage and I have now found it. Thank you Jen for helping me out with my back pain. I appreciate your knowledge and not only working my deep muscles but also checking in with me to see if I was ok. It's a comfortable place and not a over foo foo of a spa, the only thing missing was a beer. Having Jewel in Makawao is so convenient for me I am looking forward to swinging in on my way home from work for my next haircut and massage. Afrer taking a risk going to a salon while on vacation, I ended up here. The salon was very clean and inviting and they offer a ton of services. I decided to be adventurous and have my hair cut and highlighted. I have to say it was the best decision ever. Tanya did an amazing job with my super thick, long hair. My blonde highlights look so natural and my cut is to die for. It looks like I was kissed by the sun while on vacation. The products Tanya used at the salon made my hair feel so silky smooth, I am planning on finding it here in the states. The only issue now my favorite hairstylist is in Maui and I'm in the states! I can't say enough about how amazing this spa is!!! I vacation to Maui often to visit family and I always stop in here for a stress reliever! They pamper you like no other. The last time I was there an amazing stylist Tanya helped touch up my roots (i wasn't able to get to them before I left for vacay) and she game the cutest edgy cut! It was nice to have the same therapists and flow right into the massage. The product line was amazing and both treatments were professional, intuitive and perfect for my spa day. I've now had four facials from Jen and I must say she gives the best facials I've ever had. Not only does she use natural and luxurious products but, she massages my feet and neck while I have the masks on,. she also explains what is in the products and what their benefits are.
