After a great first experience, I took a few rings to get sized. One was a MarahLago designer ring I bought on vacation that needed sized down. The store I bought it in said Larimar rings are to fragile to size. I shared that statement and asked jewelfires option, they said it wouldn't be a problem. When I went into pick up my rings they handed me two back, and when I said I feel that we are missing something. He said no strongly. Dealing with jet lag, it took me a week to figure out what was missing. Then it hit me, and I called the store. When I explained the situation and asked him to see if they could look for my ring. He again said no we don't have it, without even asking what it looked like. I had to force him to talk to me. Then he wouldn't take my name or number. Not giving up, I found a picture of the ring online and called back and asked it I could text it to him. He didn't even acknowledge my text and never followed up with me. I followed up and they finally looked and found the ring. I picked it up today and the stone is not the same, it's much whiter and the top of the Stone is scuffed and has a pit in it. They clearly did something to my ring and didn't want to own up to it. This is not a reputable jeweler. I'm heartbroken my ring was perfect, no glue at edges, not a single scratch, bright blue highly polished stone. What kind of place does a hack job and tries to pass it off like nothing happened - didn't even apologize for miss placing it in the first place. As far as I'm concerned they owe me a new ring! I brought in a ring that my fiance proposed to me with, it was missing a few stones and I wanted to fix it up before returning it to the family member that it was borrowed from. I recently visited the shop with an all black radio-controlled watch that needed a new band to replace the broken one. The band was made of metal links with some small pins that were tricky to pull in and out. It was no problem for Marion as he knew exactly what to do. Despite accidentally spearing his finger tip with a slippery pin, he proceeded undaunted and got a perfect fit. He had helped me once before with similar success. "You want that with a stone in it?"- no problem, "you want that brushed to a matte finish?"- easy. AND they can custom make rings to your specifications. We first talked with Mike, who was extremely helpful. We couldn't make a decision so came back several days later armed with a printout of a ring off the internet that we liked. We spoke with Don who was also extremely helpful. We both thought he went out of his way to be helpful and show us different options and what they could do for us. I took my ring to a retail jeweler who didn't do nearly as good of a job. Jared's charged me $80 for just a cleaning and rhodium finish. Mike at jewelfire charged $50 for chipped diamond replacement, buffing, and cleaning and got every single scratch out that Jared's left behind.
