They quoted me $1500-$2500 what another jeweler around the corner quoted me $500-$700 for. While the 2 women who helped me were mostly pleasant, it felt like 2 semi-amateurs giving me an absurd quote for a "pre-existing" setting. When they mentioned the jeweler using the cad program, they told me that to set each stone is $100. I find this crazy given the quote from the place we visited after this. They also recommended I bring more gold in as trade when the other jeweler said the gold from my original ring && 1 other was more than sufficient to have my new ring made. Lastly, what the biggest standout was for me on service was the second jeweler I visited was very professional & even came down from his work space to look at my stones w/me as. As I was explaining what I wanted, he was able to sketch out EXACTLY what I wanted...not attempting to put it in a preexisting design. All in all, it felt like this jewelry store was more into the business of selling pieces rather than making. I'm giving 1 stars because of the absurd amount I was quoted, the lack of care for making a custom piece (not meeting w/the jeweler) & the disinterest felt by both women to work w/us. This is a two part review. The first is for Carlos in the Rolex AD side of the store. He was 5/5…read morestars. Really great communication via email prior to me arriving in town. Extremely helpful with showing me options and sizing and accommodating my requests to see other watches. Very knowledgeable and professional, cannot emphasize enough how great he was. Part two is for the used watch side of the business. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the employee who helped me. I asked for his card and he wouldn't give me one. To start he was super vague on the Rolex watches I inquired about. Didn't know anything about them. Then he lied to me twice saying a watch I inquired about was not in stock. After sensing I actually was looking to buy and asking if he were to find one would I buy it, I said perhaps, it depends on the watch, he walks away and comes back with the watch. He knew all along he had the watch in stock but lied to try to make a sale on finding a unicorn. I am in sales, I know what shady tactics are and this guy oozed incompetence and simple minded efforts. When I started looking at the watch and trying it on he started taking notes on his cell phone and said he will show me when we are done. I decided that particular size of the watch was not what I was looking for, and I didn't feel like paying the 2k markup he offered so I decided to think about it and perhaps revisit it when I was back in town 3 days later. As soon as I said that he showed me his notes which said "He won't buy the watch even though it is perfect." I was immediately angry. What a total sleaze ball. Insulting a customer is rarely a good sales approach. How someone that incompetent and feebleminded has a job in the luxury business is beyond me. Instead of spending 10k on a watch yesterday in your store, I walked across the aisle and bought my wife some Louis Vuitton bags. I will gladly work with Carlos in the future and Rolex AD side. This was my third stop of the day, he was the least knowledgeable. I was quoted 2 different estimates and he was timid to even give me an accurate estimate on what my items were valued at. He offered $500 less and was hesitant to take pieces he kept saying he thought was metal. Waste of time and unpleasant appraiser for a claimed "high end" store. I ended up selling to a buyer close by.
