After having my engagement…read morering resized, the shank was left noticeably too thin, which compromised the integrity of the ring. I ultimately had to take it to a more experienced jeweler to have the shank replaced. When I brought the issue back after he resized it, he declined to fix it and acknowledged that he is not very comfortable working with platinum . He also did not seem equipped to properly work with platinum. He was only able to remove material during sizing and did not have the capability to add platinum to stabilize or reinforce the band. That's a major concern because platinum requires specific expertise and necessary materials. There was also a communication barrier that made it difficult to discuss fine details or get clear answers to my questions. I didn't feel confident that my concerns were ever fully understood or addressed. On top of that, I later found out I was overcharged for the initial resizing. Another jeweler quoted me significantly less (about $65 cheaper) for the same work, and with much better results. I believe he means well and may be fine for VERY basic repairs, particularly on gold jewelry, but I regret trusting him with something as important as my engagement ring.

The last time I was there, I brought 2 watches for him to take a look at. One was to replace a battery, which he did less than a few minute. He had marked inside the watch casing of when I was there last, which was a couple years ago, and stated that if the battery dies under a certain amount of time, I can come back and he will replace it for free. The 2nd watch was to replace my fossil watch leather straps which has these special side handles to take them off and on easily. After a few years, these bands began to completely fall apart (see photos). When I went to the fossil store, they didn't have many watch bands there for my size watch (22mm) and they were expensive. I bought my watch from there on a great deal, but the cost of replacement bands was about 1/3 of what I paid for the actual watch. Saif, while i was waiting for my battery to be replaced, which was, again, not very long. I asked if they had bands for my fossil watch. He said he did, not with the special handles, but he has the tools to make it in. He showed me a selection of nice leather bands, and after I made my selection, he replaced my old band without a problem. He even replaced the original buckle attached to the old one. The cost of the new leather band was also almost half the cost of the fossil bands. He also gave a guaranteed that any problems would be fixed free of charge. The service here is outstanding! I do understand that it must be annoying to a jeweler to have to stop a major, lucrative project with a deadline, just to change someone's watch battery. A watch battery replacement generates nearly no profit for the jeweler. Today I decided to try someone new and stopped in to Greenan in Burtonsville. Wow, what a different experience! The man in the store was friendly, eager to help and he treated me as if I had a truly legitimate need. Within a few minutes, he had not only changed the battery, but he also tightened some pins to make the wristband clasp stay closed better. That exclaims to have been established Since 1995. I entered this location at approximately 12:45 pm. I've previously visited the jewelers before and asked for my jewelry to be cleaned. In a result to this particular event my (Tiffany Graduated Silver Ball Necklace) was damaged by an employee named Ron. He showed empathy once he returned from cleaning , with a hand full of dismantled unstrung silver pearl Balls which once formed my beautiful Necklace. I was devastated and heartbroken , Ron stated he could repair my necklace with confidence, he delivered but unfortunately I would be responsible for a $30 dollar fee once my Necklace repair was completed.
