Jim from JG plumbing came to unclog a shower drain. Jim was very professional, before he came in he put bootys on shoes. This is rare to see. He assessed the clogged drain we had, made sure it was just a shower drain issue. He went back to his truck got the proper tools and equipment to do the job. He quoted me their standard rate of 250. If they were not able to unclog there was not charge. But they would assess the situation more and provide a quote for that work. He protected the areas he was working on and cleaned up after himself. Jim was knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. I'd beware of this company. I called for a quote on a fill valve on a toilet. While the response was very fast, the quote was outrageous! He quoted between $275-$350. Mind you, this is a part that costs $15 and is a 10 minute job for a professional. I was able to get the job done for $140 by another licensed plumber. read more

Tech tried to detect location of leak unsuccessfully. Made 2 holes in wall but could not find leak. Wanted to keep making holes but I said no. Tech did isolate leak to a line going to upstairs bathroom. Tech was unable to repair leak after making two holes in wall. He wanted to remove old line and replace with new. He was trying to upsell additional work. Wanted an astronomical amount of money to remove and replace with new line. Wanted $2500 for repair. Told him to stop. He capped the line and charged $575 for his incompetence. Did not get my money's worth. Don't use this company as the tech is inexperienced and was calling daddy to get tips and directions on what to do next. The tech kept promoting he was a licensed plumber and that it was a family business and they had the best pricing and I would be calling him back. Not a chance. Can't iterate enough to stay clear of this company. I was left with 2 holes in a wall, no repair and out $575. Just so you know I was able to get the line repaired for $900 by another company.
