Worst experience I've ever had with a plumbing company. I called today to have someone come out and assess an issue with my bathroom. When the plumber arrived, I walked him through the problem. He didn't seem to do much troubleshooting and appeared to be guessing what the issue might be rather than thoroughly checking. He quickly told me he was going to call his boss, Albert Diaz, for further guidance. After the call, he came back and began checking other faucets, but still only inspected one bathroom, even though the two bathrooms back up to each other. He gave me estimates for a couple of options he recommended. Because of how long the work would take, and because he had arrived late, I told him I would reschedule. Shortly afterward, I received a call from Albert Diaz asking what had happened. I explained my interaction with his plumber and told him that I felt the plumber was guessing and that I didn't feel confident or reassured by his diagnosis. Albert apologized and explained that the plumber was new and that he would work on additional training with him. I genuinely appreciated his response because I was simply providing honest feedback about my experience. The conversation changed when I began clarifying the estimates I had been given. It turned out that the plumber had mixed up the quotes, so I was trying to make sure I correctly understood the pricing. I asked, "Just to clarify, it's $500 just to run the camera through the toilet?" My intention was simply to confirm what the $500 charge covered--not to minimize the work or suggest that it wasn't worth the price. Albert appeared to take offense specifically to my use of the word "just," as though I was downplaying the service. That was not my intention at all, and I attempted to explain that I was only confirming the pricing, especially since I had already been given incorrect information. After that, Albert asked who had referred me to him and then told me that he would not be providing any services to me. I found the way the situation was handled extremely unprofessional. As a customer, I should be able to ask questions and clarify an estimate--especially after receiving conflicting pricing--without the owner becoming offended or refusing service. I was initially appreciative of Albert's willingness to listen to my feedback and address the training issue, but unfortunately, the way the conversation ended completely changed my impression of the company. They actually arrived a bit early for our appointment time, but I appreciated that. They were in contact via text, keeping constant communication on their arrival time. We also had a leak under one of our sinks that was causing corrosion, and they fixed it right away. They even quickly went to Home Depot for us for a needed part. We appreciated the extra effort. Albert was a complete life saver! My grams garage was flooding due to a sewage leak so we went to Yelp and found Albert. He responded to our emergency situation immediately and within like 30 mins he arrived and found the issue quickly. Apparently a pipe was leaking in a crawl space and that's why the garage was flooding. He had advised us to get a restoration company to come out and clean it up so that he can come back and repair the leak. Albert was kind enough to call a restoration company himself and ask if they were able to come out. (Luckily they were able to). A few hours later, the crawl space was finally cleaned and sanitized which meant it was time to call Albert back to see if he can come out the same day. Now I may have forgot to mention it was a Saturday evening, so we were all really just praying he was still going to be able to come back and repair the pipe the same day... and before we can even pick up our phones to dial his number, he had already showed up to check in on how it was going. He then fixed the pipe and also advised us on a couple of other things my grams may have to look out for in the future since he was able to get a camera in the main line. This guys customer service is great. He explains everything and doesn't try to cheat you out of money like some other plumbers do. He's upfront about the issues and a honest guy. First time I called Albert, the service was excellent. Fair pricing, good workmanship, prompt, cleaned up the area, good service. This second time, it was totally different. It's like a switch was flipped. Night and day. Less than a year ago, one of the things he did was replace a provided faucet for $150. Now I asked for the same thing but he first wanted to charge around $750. Said he wanted to also change the angle stops. I believe he recommended it the first time as well, but he was fine not doing it last time. Agreed to not do it, but then he refuses to install the pop-up drain stopper unless I replace the trap under the sink for $550 more. Even though there are no signs of leaking. Looked it up. Trap replacement cost an average of $200 and $325. Takes less than half an hour. . Also initially wanted to charge $100 to turn a switch to shut off the water to the house. Again, something he did for free the first time. And is something I can do myself and other plumbers have done for free as well. I understand plumbers may want to make a certain amount per visit to be worthwhile, but they can't make up unnecessary things to fix. Since my experience was positive the first time, I was very willing to pay an extra $100 to $200 what he normally charged before. But this was going way overboard. Lies were obvious and very outlandish this time. Don't know if the intent is to be honest the first time just to get the positive review and then gouge you the second time or third time. Or maybe rack up positive reviews since 2020, and now start gouging. Or maybe his business is in need of money now. But beware. Doesn't matter how many initial positive reviews there are now. This business might screw you the second or third time. read more
