Initially I liked the place. Then they stopped accepting occasional boarding. They want to you be a member and have your dog there every month so they can make more money. I asked nicely where are the occasional boarders supposed to go? The owner literally got pissed at me and banned me from ever coming back. For asking a question! I have never been treated like that in my life! The owner doesn't want your business, she wants your submission. Just look at what the other one star reviews say about the verbally abusive owner and then read her verbally abusive answers! These people butchered my dogs. I gave them a picture of how I wanted my dogs to look they could not even do a groom from a picture. Then when I showed concern about it they said well we don't care you still have to pay. They were not concerned about an upset customer at all. I do not advise anybody to take their dogs here primarily because of the horrible management. And then when you need to talk to the owner they come up with all of these excuses of why they can't get in touch with the owner this is the second bad experience I've had at this place ... no more. Then owner of this place is so weak that instead of dealing with an uoset customer she'd rather call the police to review video of an upset customer that used a few curse words. This could have easily been resolved with an apology and a no charge .. I'd still been mad but they would have been professional. I just love MLFP staff and the confidence I feel after dropping my pups off for boarding or a 1/2 day care or grooming. My puppies just seem to be comfortable and happy when they get there and at pick up time. I have used MLFP before for about 3-4 years for my beloved miniature italian greyhound boy and before cancer took him away after 13 years of beautiful life together, the owner gave me a full refund after I had to cancel his reservation during holiday season due to being sick and passing away =(, which I felt it was compassionate and the right thing to do which is why I am back with my little miniature IGs. Hands down the BEST pet care we have ever experienced. We started entrusting Kris with in home pet care a few years ago as she was starting out and she did an outstanding job. Our recent holiday was rather lengthy and with an 8 month old puppy, blind 4 year old and a 13 year old senior, we felt they needed more monitoring, so we chose to board them in one of the new condos at Kris's gorgeous facility. This is luxury pet boarding at its finest and worth every penny. After our last pug was neglected and died at Hillcountry Animal hospital, we had a lot of anxiety about boarding our dogs. This place is HORRIBLE! Never have I ever experienced such verbal abuse and unprofessionalism in my life. I texted with the team that I would not make it to pick my pets up before 10AM but that I would be there in the afternoon. They replied with: "Thank you for the update - we're open until 7pm today. We will see you this evening!" Upon showing up at 12:45 - they answered the door and told Me I must comeback at 2PM. I told them I live an hour away and this isn't doable for me + their text message said nothing about not being open. The woman who seems to be the manager gave me soooo much attitude and slammed the door on my daughter and I. I am currently waiting outside and once I am get my pets back. I will never ever come back here again. Terrible customer service (especially considering I have spent thousands of dollars here). Never again + not another dollar will go here! Edit: Well when I came in calmly the owner SCREAMED at me and was so verbally abusive ! This is the most unprofessional business I have ever witnessed ! She even tried to attack my parenting! Our French Bulldog Wally loved his stay at My Love Fur Paws! We boarded him for one night and also had him bathed the day he returned home. The facilities are spacious, clean, and well thought out, and the owner Kris clearly loves what she does and takes pride in the level of care each dog is given. We loved the big yards with lots of toys to play in. The boarding suites are simply the nicest we've ever seen. So much nicer than the wire kennels most everywhere else! We also appreciated that staff would post photos of Wally on their Facebook page so we could see what he was up to while we were traveling. The staff we met were friendly and attentive, and we appreciated that they took time to socialize Wally with other dogs, which can be tricky. When a group setting turned out not to be the best solution for him, he instead got lots of one-on-one time in the play yard and on walks. Wally loves people, so he probably thought it was the best vacation of his life. :) We've used other boarders in the West Austin area, and we had gotten used to Wally returning home full of nervous energy and needing to be calmed down a bit. Not so this time -- when Wally was delivered to our house (another wonderful service since we arrived home late in the day) he bounded through our front door in great spirits. As Kris was leaving, he even tried to hop in the car with her to go back. It seems readjusting to home life might be a bit of a letdown. ;) We will definitely visit My Love Fur Paws again. read more

Long overdue review but have been taking my boys to My Love Fur Paws Pet Care for a couple of years now. I went and toured approximately 4 places before them and was starting to think they were all similar until my last stop at MLFP. I liked that they required more checks for your pets (vaccinations, etc) because that also protects other patrons pets. I really loved how clean it was and even asked how they keep the facility so clean. I liked how secure the facility is, especially having 2 ornery hound dogs. They have the patience, compassion, and good direction that is needed to keep my fur kids safe and well taken care of. Highly recommend them. read more

Very Disappointing Experience. We brought in our rescue German Shepherd puppy for socialization and play time. We also booked her for boarding over Spring break. Just a few weeks before Spring break, they went back on their promise to board her, saying that she needed extensive training first. This was explained as a minimum of 15 training sessions at $65 each. When we questioned this recommendation on the phone, the trainer became hostile and actually hung up on us. We found a fantastic place to board her over break. She had a great time training and playing with the staff as well as several other dogs off-leash, over 11 days. At the end of the day, it seems like My Love Fur Paws was trying to coerce or scare us into a training program solely to generate revenue for their business. Instead of answering the questions directly and calmly, as 99.9% of business people would do have, she became immediately angry and defensive. It ended in the owner cancelling our dog's reservation the day before spring break leaving us to scramble. This review is not about boarding or grooming services but rather, the interactions with MLFP when I was trying to adopt a dog that they were boarding. My first interaction with Brooke was a phone conversation to schedule a time to stop by their facility to meet 2-3 adoptable dogs. She was extremely professional and friendly and answered several questions that I had as a first time dog owner. I met Brooke, Kris (the owner), and 2 dogs on Memorial Day and spent a glorious 2 hours playing with the adorable dogs and pelting Brook and Kris with questions. Their patience was much appreciated. I decided to foster a dog with San Antonio Pets Alive and Kris helped me with the online application. My second visit to MLFP was to pick up the foster dog, Benito, and this visit was just as pleasant as the first. Benito was relaxed and looked dapper because he had just gotten a "spa" treatment with Kris. She gave me dog food, calming treats, a leash, and a harness. I didn't expect her to supply me with these items; it was a generous gesture and a testament of how much she loves animals and wants all dogs to find a furever home. I also learned that the costs to house shelter/ rescue dogs comes out of her own pocket which again, hilights her kindhearted spirit. She generally boards 4 shelter dogs at a time and almost all of them get adopted. During the weekend Kris texted me to see how I was doing with Benito. While Benito is a sweet dog, I did not feel a connection. I actually met with a lab over the weekend that I ended up adopting and when I mentioned this to Kris was thrilled for me, rather than making me feel guilty that I was returning Benito to be put back up on the adoption wall. Kris has the biggest heart and it is clear that she loves the animals she cares for. I will definitely utilize MLFP when I need to board my new fur baby. read more

Excellent facility and people. I feel very good knowing my Vizsla is in their care. They put her in the large dog play group when she is there, and I love the pictures they post on facebook that show her having a great time. I also appreciate that trainers supervise the play groups. She is about 1.5 years old. I took her to another facility for socialization when she was a puppy but couldn't continue there because she came home acting aggressively every time. Our trainer mentioned that when dogs aren't properly supervised and become scared that they may develop defensive aggression. I have never had an issue at My Love Fur Paws. She comes home tired and happy. They do a great job keeping up on immunizations and contact the vet for me when her records need updating. When she boarded there they let me know that they suspected she had a urinary tract infection and said if needed they would be happy to take her to our vet. She was comfortable so we waited until I returned a few days later from my vacation, but they made me feel like she was really being observed. And she did indeed have a UTI. I just wish they were closer to me so I could take her for daycare sometimes! read more

I love being able to check in on their Facebook page daily to see pictures of our dogs playing with other fur friends and staff. The dogs enjoy the condo-style rooms, comfy beds, and Sonos music playing through the speakers. During the holidays, the staff offer fully cooked warm meals--served on white tablecloths and plates might I add, to the dogs. (I think my dogs ate better than I did on Thanksgiving this year!) They also have many other fun add-ons and amenities to offer! Additionally, Kris and her staff are very thorough and make sure to vet each and every dog that comes through the doors by having a mandatory "observation period" before they are able to stay. She then sorts the dogs into different play groups based on temperament to insure that each dog is safe and able to play at their own comfort level. The staff at My Love Fur Paws is caring and attentive and I know they truly love dogs and have their best interest in mind. I feel completely confident in leaving my babies with them, knowing they will be taken care of the same way they are with us in our home. Grooming charges at three other groomers in the area are between $35.00 to $45.00 per dog, but they don't get blueberry facials. As for your cut, In all fairness, I did ask your groomer Paisley to give them a traditional Wheaten Terrier cut, but I wanted to trim their beards a little shorter, because it gets in the water when they drink, your groomer Paisley (and I'm using the title loosely), basically shaved their heads, body, beards and mussels. The hair around their mussels is 1/2-inch to 1 1/2 -inch long. The hair should fall from the top of the muzzle to well below the bottom jaw for those who don't know. She shaved the side skirts and legs off. The body hair is about 1/2-inch to 1-inch long. She left a little tuft of hair about 6 inches long to fall over their eyes and called that a Wheaten cut. She butchered my dogs. Remember, I have been doing this for 12 years with my dogs and I have never been so disappointed. I thought Dog Groomers required a State Groomers License in Texas? I'll posting photos to show everyone what I'm talking about. Now the part I'm the most furious about: Per your requirements prior to boarding, I needed to take my dogs to the vet for a checkup and updated shots. I understand and since moving here from Scottsdale we needed to find a new vet and have their records transferred. No problem, I did just that on 03/15/2016. Full physical check-up and got all their shots up-to-date and records transferred. Vet gave them a 100% bill of health. I then boarded our dogs "Fozzy & Zsa Zsa" with you on 04/03/2016 for a week in a private boarding suite, together as we always did in Scottsdale. My dogs were not to be exposed to other dogs at any time, NO EXCEPTIONS. We wanted them groomed on the final day prior to being picked up. Everything seem to be fine, but my female was acting funny, very skittish and cowering when we got home. Didn't think too much about it at the time, but now it makes sense. My dogs were comingled with other dogs at some point. That freaks my female out. I explained why to you prior to boarding and I won't go into it here. I picked-up my dogs last week. Your groomer Paisley pointed out they my male wheaten has a ear infection. I immediately took them to the vet. I found out they both have serious ear infections and now also worms. Remember, both of my dogs are house dogs and do not like going outside at all. They at no time come into contact with other dogs, their water bowls, facieses, food, etc... They are 12 years old and have never had a single problem, not one. Leave them in your care and they now both have serious ear infections and worms. Is that just coincidental, or is their more to the story during their stay with you? I guess we will never know. My Love Fur Paws know exactly how to take care of your furry pet and make everyone happy. I would highly recommend Kris to anyone, especially people that have separation anxiety from leaving their pets behind to go on a trip. MLFP is great! We boarded our Brittany Spaniel for 5 days at the beginning of the summer and Bailey had a rough time. She was super anxious at night but was ok during the day in play groups. MLFP went above and beyond to make sure that Bailey was well taken care of and did all that they could to lessen her anxiety and keep her calm at night. I was given updates every day on how Bailey was doing and not once did the staff seem frustrated with the issues they were having with her. What I loved the most was the ability to check in with the Facebook page all weekend long to see so many frequent pic uploads of my two pups having fun playing with all their new K9 friends! We have been sending our coonhound Boone to MLFP for 3 years now. I can't say enough about how comfortable I feel with Boone being in their care.
