Tl;dr: Nicoll is AMAZING and clearly knows what she's doing when it comes to professionally…read moreorganizing your home! Read on below if you want more details about the whole process. So...here's the thing about me. I love stuff. I love having a variety of stuff. I love having colorful pens, cute bags, books...you name it, and I probably started collecting some of it at some point. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with wanting to have and own those things. But what I did notice was that the sheer amount of that stuff was really starting to stress me out. Things didn't have a place. My closet and dresser and drawers were stuffed to the brim. I found it difficult to enjoy these fun things I owned because they were mixed in with other things I didn't enjoy or use anymore. I found that I was hanging onto so many items for years "just in case," and the case would never arrive. I'd tried for years with things like the minimalist challenge and reading self help books to try and get rid of things, but I couldn't seem to make a dent. That's where Nicoll came in. My partner helped me find Nicoll on Yelp and connected the two of us together. We had an introductory phone call where she asked me some questions, and I shared my frustrations with getting rid of things and really needing help with it. We ended up making an appointment for a week later where she showed up with her toolkit and bag of bags for donations. We did a little walk around and I shared areas of stress for me and what I wanted out of the space, which was to know where everything was and to know what I owned. After the intro assessment we dove right in. In the next few hours we: ⁃ Took EVERYTHING out of my closet and purged SO much of it. We went piece by piece and she helped ask clarifying questions (when did I last wear it? Do I like it?) and could usually pick up on if I actually liked something. I noticed patterns of how I reacted when I loved something vs when I wasn't sure or was sort of convincing myself. This is an exercise I tried doing before on my own, but when there's someone standing there, who you paid to help you, who's not attached to your stuff....let me tell you, it changes the game. I found myself deciding to donate (and sometimes sell) what must have been at least a third of my closet (clothes, hats, bags, electronics, etc). ⁃ She busted out her label maker and helped organize and label shelves in categories that made sense. Now I know where everything is! ⁃ She packed up all the items I decided to donate into bags and packed them into her car. It ended up being about 15 bags of things which was absolutely wild to me. Nicoll taking these bags out of my house was a game changer, because there have been many times I've decided to donate items that just end up sitting there in bags for months! I noticed that night going to bed that my room felt emptier, in a really good way. It felt calmer, cleaner, and like I could breathe a bit easier. Some people might read this and think that they shouldn't have to hire someone to help them organize. I know for myself that I hit a wall when it came to organizing on my own, and I needed to ask for help. I'm so glad I did, because it changed my life and my relationship with "stuff." I'm confident that Nicoll will be able to help you if you need it, and I cannot recommend her enough!

He was super thoughtful about removing and hauling things like the carpet I tore out. Prices were aligned with others in the area. I liked that Brandon does the work himself, from quote to finish. He completed 4 closets over 2 days. The closets themselves have shifted the whole feel of the rooms. Definitely an upgrade that I'd highly recommend! Lessons I learned, that you may want to heed... if you have access, get in and paint the closets ahead of time. He will do touch ups, and paint over small areas previously occupied by screws, closet bar supports etc, but that doesn't include full painting. In my case the Master closets hadn't been painted since before I moved in 18 years ago - they suddenly looked dingy contrasting with the new materials. It's none fun painting after the fact! Same thing with any flooring updates. Fortunately, I was able to tear up the carpet the evening before he did the last 2 closets. Give yourself the gift of a fully finished, high end closet. You'll thank me later!

After asking me a few questions to determine my needs, he put together his recommended layout- it was exactly what I wanted. His work is articulate. Everything lines up perfectly, matches perfectly and is symmetrical. I cannot say enough how great of a job he did. I would definitely recommend him over any of the larger closet companies as his prices are beyond fair, reasonable and affordable. What I love about this set up is that it's adjustable. I can move the rods up/down depending on how long my clothes are. The shelves are adjustable as well. My closet is now my favorite part of the house.

Yelp emailed today (after I snooped ~6-days ago to see if Steve is still working his happy magic)…read more Do I want to review this business? Yes, yes I do! It's been 7-yrs since I bought a package + then added extra hours to fully transform my life and home, and it's still the smartest thing I ever did! Not a moment was wasted, no judgement ever, and extremely personable/positive! ** TBH, if I was rich ... I'd have created fake messes just to hang out with him 12x/yr! In addition to removing 12-years of my past trauma/busy clutter, I then asked him to help refresh my home decor because I was sooooo stuck & burnt-out. He listened/clarified/understood the feeling I wanted to achieve. We hit 3-stores in 3-hours, literally running to load our carts with treasures. How he fit everything into his SUV is a testament to his organizational skills! Then my visitors said, "Wow!" when they entered. I'd ask, "What does that mean?" Consistently they replied, "I didn't expect it to look THIS good!!!" Everything Steve suggested & placed in my home was a winner. Great items, colors, prices, lessons, attitude, work ethic, humor, & style. Everything Steve did is STILL perfect, but I'm now ready to donate/trash/recycle my really old holdover closeted crap and refresh the place again. I want his opinion on refreshing wall colors, moving things around, maybe adding some pieces to swap out for seasonal changes. The fact that I want to call him has already motivated me (says this new donation pile & 3 file boxes of papers emptied). More to do before I call him, must eliminate the obvious distractions first & gather decor samples as I'm on a very limited income now. This time I want his design input vs. the heavy-lifting clutter/lifestyle help. He's great at both! When you're ready to improve your life and enjoy the process immensely, Steve Adams is definitely the guy. Thrilled he's still making magic & improving lives.

Amazing!! Shira is…read morethe whole package and I have 100% confidence she can help you tackle any home organization process. She is smart, fun, respectful, quick, knowledgeable, creative, and motivating. This year I moved into a gorgeous studio apartment in a wonderful SF neighborhood. While I was excited for the move, I began to panic about storage and space. #Fashionista. When I moved in, I took everything from my old life and stuffed it into the studio. It was working...ish. But what I really wanted was that light, airy, free feeling. And I wasn't getting it with all my stuff. So I began a quest to minimize my belongings - especially my clothes! No matter how hard I tried by reading the "Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" or any other materials, I could only let go of a few things at once on my own. So I reached out to Shira. Shira came in and BOOM I was letting go of things by the second and having FUN doing it. Shira helped me maintain perspective by suggesting what might be appropriate for me and my lifestyle. She did not come in with a stringent minimalist formula. She came in looking to get to know me + my life. Then we created the plan together and made sure it felt good. In my two days with Shira, I can confidently say we decreased my belongings by at least 50%. We filled at least 6 IKEA bags with donations. I already know that I won't miss anything. I feel so much lighter. Happier. Inspired!!! And most importantly, like I can stop stressing about my stuff and start focusing on my life. Work with Shira and you won't regret it :). I promise!

I've worked with Keith over several sessions to organize our apartment, and he has been fantastic…read more What distinguishes him from someone who simply tidies or rearranges things is that he takes the time to understand how you actually use your home. He then helps you make thoughtful decisions about what to keep and creates practical, intuitive systems that reduce friction in everyday life. Keith is perceptive, patient, and completely nonjudgmental. He knows when to let you think, when to ask the question that clarifies a decision, and when to offer a strong recommendation so the project keeps moving. Nothing felt cookie cutter or imposed- the goal was always to make the space work for us, rather than forcing us into someone else's idea of an organized home. After working with him, our apartment feels calmer, more functional, and easier to maintain. He is also genuinely enjoyable to spend a long session with, which matters for this kind of work. I would recommend Keith without hesitation.

After six sessions he's not only transformed my space but my relationship to it: my home is no longer a source of stress and chaos, but a sanctuary where I can fully unwind. I can now maintain a baseline of organization with ease, without needing long weekend cleaning sessions. I know where everything is and don't need to waste time searching for my things. I never thought I could be this type of person. What's special about Keith is that he doesn't just organize, he teaches you the skills required for maintaining an organized home over the long term, tailored to you. He's trained with Marie Kondo and specializes in organizing for ADHD. He asks excellent questions in the decluttering process and has brilliant strategies for organization--I don't have ADHD but find that his methods work very well for my busy pace of life. I've developed a better understanding of why disorganization happens and how to address them and create systems as needed. All that to say, working with Keith is one of the best investments I've ever made. He's also a lovely person to spend an afternoon with, and always communicative, warm, and incredibly punctual. I'm so grateful to him and could not recommend his services more.
