We've been meaning to try this restaurant for a while after hearing about its opening. The menu looks impressive and the space is beautifully decorated, but overall the food felt a bit hit or miss. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 5/5 Food - 3/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant has a modern feel and is nicely decorated. I especially liked the personal touch of displaying photos of their customers, which made the space feel more warm and welcoming. Service - Our waitress was very personable, friendly, and approachable. She answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable throughout the meal. What We Ordered - - Supreme Fish Maw Chicken Soup Rice Noodle (Just OK - The photo looked great, and our waitress assured me there would be plenty of toppings. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The broth itself had good flavor, but it lacked ingredients. I only got about three small pieces of chicken. For the price, it did not feel worth it.) - Beef Tripe Sauce Noodle (Very good - This dish was surprisingly flavorful and generously loaded with toppings. Definitely the highlight of the meal.) Final Thoughts - For noodle soups specifically, there are much better options in the area that offer stronger flavors and better value. While this place has a nice atmosphere and great service, I would likely explore other spots nearby when I'm craving noodle soup. That said, the sauce noodle my girlfriend ordered was actually very good, so I would stick to that if we came back.

Everyone was very courteous at this restaurant. Stopping by for a small bite before continuing our walk through Chinatown. I would love to try an entree as everything looked great but the appetizers we had we really good.

Noodle soups were a staple in my diet growing up, so whenever I'm feeling nostalgic, I always come to this chinese restaurant that specializes in traditional rice noodles dishes to hit that spot, because it tastes authentic. Honestly, I also probably order from here at least once a month, whenever I don't feel like cooking. One of their popular dishes is their chicken fish maw soup, which I love and would highly rec! It's homey, VERY generous in portion size, and it feels like something an asian grandma would make. The broth is flavorful with herbal undertones, and the noodles have a springy bouncy texture that pairs nicely with the variety of chicken, mushrooms, and tofu skin in the soup. Besides this, they also offer other soup bases such as Tom Yum (has a great spicy kick, my second fav), tomato (tastes like tomato hot pot), and ramen. They also serve stir-fry noodle dishes with a nice "qq texture," but just watch out for the spiceee. Before your food comes out, they provide free side dishes as well that includes pickled cabbage and peanuts, which are a good palette opener. The ambiance here is lowkey and chill - the people that run this place are very friendly, and if you're not familiar with their dishes they will explain it to you.

Mala Beef, Fish Slices with Rice Noodles This super hit the spot. Each soup was chock full of goodies, from wood ear mushrooms to tofu to corn and more. And the beef and fish were so so tender and excellent. The flavors of both soups were on point! I think mine was with the beef brisket (either that or the beef slices). The rice noodles were decent and definitely appeal to many people. Not my personal favorite for noodles, but they work for this place!!

Was able to stop in by myself on a very cold day to warm up. It's a pretty cozy cafe setting inside and you're greeted and sat quick. Free kaiweicai (small bowl "appetizer" to start the meal) is brought over of cabbage and peanuts. Ordered the mala spicy beef shank noodle soup and wood ear black fungus garlic salad. Both very tasty. The mala spicy broth was the perfect balance of hot and numbing, it warmed up my taste buds and my temperature. It also had corn, enoki mushroom, bok choy, tripe, and tofu pieces in it. You can customize and add other things to your soup if you want. Service was great and helpful, and good value from the menu. Great spot for lunch or dinner, thanks.

10/10. To preface, this type of chicken soup is classic-- I grew up with its flavor from a young age. That said, the soup broth was flavorful and delicious, making me feel like it's a blast from the past. The owner and his staff were super friendly and nice. They loved talking to us. Their service was top notch!

Solid place for noodle soup. We grabbed the mala and the fish maw. I was nervous for the spiciness of the mala but I actually really enjoyed it. Sure it's spicy but not overwhelmingly so. The chicken of the fish maw was fine but I didn't think very exciting-certainly a cleaner dish. Both had a ton of ingredients and were plenty of food for lunch. Also grabbed the cucumber salad, which was a solid addition to start with.

I thought the menu was a bit confusing with what is included for a set price, but I went ahead and got a mala fish soup "as is." The bowl for this was humongous, filled to the brim with fish slices, bean sprouts, woodear, and corn. The soup was spicy, but did not actually taste like much. Rice noodles were soft - I probably would have preferred ramen here. Maybe this was in part user error, but I did not enjoy this bowl of noodles as much as I would have expected to. The appetizers were some marinated soybeans and really wet (sour?) shredded iceberg lettuce which did not inspire joy.

The fish maw soup is light and will be great on those sick days. Intestines were clean and tasty.

Stopped by to pick up some hearty food to warm up in the brisk weather we've been having! Service was quick and pleasant. I ordered the spicy mala rice noodles. Something to note was that the online payment portal wasn't working, so we had to pay in person. The to go packaging was phenomenal, in that it separated the broth and the meat/noodles to keep everything from becoming overcooked and soggy. I did notice that the image I ordered from demonstrated many veggies in the noodles, but the ones I received contained very little. The food itself was hot, spicy, and hearty, just as I wanted. The meat was tender and delicious! Ji Bei Chuan seems like a solid noodle spot for warm and comforting food.

If you like ramen you'll like it here! Affordable pricing and can get pretty crowded. Grabbed late lunch with a friend here.

Lazy Sunday after an unsuccessful Memorial Day beach weekend. It was cold and rainy all weekend but…read morewe decided to hit up some beef noodle soup place to warm up. On this cold almost summer day, Nan Zhou was hustling and bustling. Separate parties at the same round table and clients coming in and out of the restaurant facade. Warm lighting and active banter. I received my bowl of beef noodle soup was pretty satisfied. Beef was tender with flavorful bites of fattiness. Somehow, the meat tastes beefier than beef. The cilantro had potent herbaceous flavor with some spinach(?) and mustard greens. Noodles were pleasantly chewy w variation in texture. Lowkey, everything else was alright. I like to be nice so I'll say no more. Cucumbers were fine

This place was packed, which is always a good sign, and even with that the staff stayed super prompt and professional. The house special was my favorite. I got it with the knife-cut noodles and it was perfect with the broth. The noodles had that slightly uneven, chewy texture that really holds onto the soup. I never thought I'd be the type to talk about "mouthfeel" but here we are. The broth itself was rich and savory with a deep beef flavor, a little bit of oil on top that adds body without feeling too heavy. It's that classic, comforting Chinese beef noodle soup done really well. I added a braised egg, which had great flavor soaked into it, though it was served cold, which threw me off a bit. The mapo tofu with noodles was also really solid. It had that signature spicy, numbing kick from the Sichuan peppercorns, balanced with a savory, slightly salty sauce. The tofu was soft and silky, and mixing it with the noodles made it extra satisfying. It's got some heat but not overwhelming, just enough to keep you going back for another bite. The shrimp stir fry was lighter but still flavorful. The shrimp were cooked well, tender with a slight snap, and the sauce leaned more on the savory side with a mild sweetness. It felt like a nice balance alongside the heavier noodle dishes. Couple practical things: it's cash only, but there's an ATM right by the seating area which makes it easy. And the portions are generous for the price, so it feels like a really good deal. Overall, super satisfying spot. Busy, a little chaotic, but the food absolutely delivers. Definitely a go-to if you're craving hand-pulled noodles.

The homemade DanDan noodles were our favorite, which are served with ground pork in a spicy peanut sauce. We also got the three cup chicken which was so good, with a sweet, licorice-like glaze. Some other favorites were the black pepper chicken and the long hot chicken, if you enjoy spice. We had the ginger and scallion dish and was not our favorite, as the chicken had a unique consistency and was quite limp. Overall, good service and a relaxing ambiance in a bustling city.

Unfortunately the experience at pickup wasn't the best. I asked if they had included utensils and the gentleman at the counter said no. I asked for some since I was bringing the food back to my hotel and wouldn't have anything to eat with. He was pretty dismissive and didn't seem to want to give me anything. (I also didn't get any napkins.) Just a little strange when ordering takeout, utensils should be included right? Or at the very least be readily given out when requested? He begrudgingly gave me 2 pairs of chopsticks and a fork, said he ran out of spoons. I didn't notice the lack of napkins until I got back. Now for the food. We ordered dan dan noodles, a chicken lo mein, and Taiwanese minced pork rice. The noodle dishes were decent but the lo mein was a bit too al dente for our liking...especially for our young son. Didn't get a chance to eat the rice because we were all too full from the noodles. Appreciate the generous portions at least. Will see if the rice will make it home safely with us and reheats well. Can't speak on the ambience. Wasn't in there long enough to really look around. Will I order from them again or try in person in the future? I'm not sure. I wasn't blown away by the food or service so...
