This cute Thai restaurant is located at the corner of 8th and Moyamensing. So convenient to get to by bus 47 as it stops on the corner. There was only one girl at the counter. She was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. There are about 20 seats. Appetizer: crisp shrimp wraps: medium size shrimp, very crunchy with sweet chili dipping sauce. It's ok. Thai glazed chicken wings: 5 wings per serving. Came out super hot. Wait until they cool down a bit so you don't burn your hands and mouth. They are delicious but messy as the glaze is sticky. I recommend bringing wet wipes. Papaya salad: fresh and authentic, not too acidic as it was balanced with sweetness from palm sugar. I asked for it not spicy. It has sliced grape tomatoes and snake beans topped with generous amounts of crushed peanuts. Highly recommend. Now that you've learned a bit of Sensation and Perception 101 that you never asked, let's do an actual food review. Food: Tom yum: i appreciate the flavor, it's strong but not overpowering. They are not cheap with the veggies/seafood - do order Laab salad: another good and strong flavor, but in my opinion needs to have more lettuce. Spring rolls: great crunch and flavor. Unsure if it's homemade, but who cares. Wings: cooked to perfection! You can hear the crunch all the way to Bangkok! BUT....wayyy too sticky, sweet, and sour. Emphasizing on SWEET. Drunken noodles: great presentation, good color, but again...s.w.e.e.t. Pad Thai: i dont wanna sound like a broken record. Lessen the sugar. 6.9/10 - i will be back because I do see a potential. This place is just recently opened and received pretty good reviews, so I decided to try it out. everything we ordered was tasty with a generous portions, but the flavor was just too sweet for me and my boyfriend. I know Thai food is sweet, but this is another level of sweet. And the coconut noodle soup, it has no flavor and tasted so coconuty. It would have been better if they use rice noodle or glass noodle instead of vermicelli noodle. The ambience is plain, but it looks new and clean. Everything was so flavorful and freshly made. The prices are also reasonable and the staff were very friendly as they gave us free dessert. We've ordered the red curry (the best), glazed chicken (not a fave of ours), fried pork dumpling (another fave of ours), seafood drunken noodle (so good), calamari (it's good), and we were given free banana desert (love it). The first time I ordered from here, I also had their shrimp pad Thai. It was good ( not the best), but good enough for me to order it again. I def want to try other food off their menu too. Ordered five basic dishes (coconut soup, chicken satay, pork spring rolls, drunken noodles, and pineapple fried rice) to feel them out. Everything was good but the soup was outstanding. Somehow they managed to deliver warm soup AND warm noodles in a separate container WITH a softboiled egg, and it wasn't damaged, cold, or slimy and gross, as boiled eggs tend to get the minute you take them off a stove. The spring roll also came with two ramekins of sauce - one spicy, one simple syrup with diced onions and peppers floating in it. That was a nice touch. Really good food!! We got delivery the other night, I had called in an order at 5 and asked for delivery at 7:15 and they were very accommodating. Dinner was delivered a few minutes early (perfect!)! And it arrived hot! The menu is composed of Thai restaurant standards which is exactly what we were in the mood for, and they just do them exceptionally. The food was delicious. Seriously. We got seven different dishes and they were all great. A perfect example of pad see ew. Nothing more really needs to be said about that. The eggplant basil was so tasty (I just wish there had been a little more rice with it, so consider ordering an additional rice). The vegetables in the eggplant basil were great and the shrimp in it were perfectly cooked and generously portioned. The tom yum was packed with veggies swimming in delicious broth. The glaze on their wings was great, not dissimilar from sweet chili sauce but deeper flavor, some caramelization in it, I think. The wings were fried perfectly, and were still crispy when they arrived. I'd say the only thing not to my preference was the pad Thai which was drier than I like, but the duck leg on top was fantastic, and it was still a good dish. I was pleasantly surprised by the spice level, they were well balanced to my palate, but if you're looking for mild you might want to warn them.
