Cute small Korean spot near the University. Had a taste for Korean BBQ but ended up stumbling across this little gem. The only downside is that this place is tiny. I can't imagine what it's like during a lunch rush but while I was there it was pretty empty. The service was good but the food was even better. I order the Yaki Mandi to start and it was good, Fried perfectly but the filling was just ok. For my entree I had the bulgogi and man was it good. I lived in South Korea for a year and this is the closest I've come to tasting authentic Korean food. My date had the kalbi beef and she enjoyed it. The cuts of meat were nice and the portion were huge but I feel it lacked a bit in the marinade but still very tasty. Both dishes were served with some awesome sticky rice. I've been here a few times and I love the authenticity of the food there. It's hard to find places in Clarkesville that truly embody the essence of Korean flavors as I lived in South Korea for a year m. This place does it for me. Also, it's really close to the university and downtown, so there's tons to do in the area and you have tons of opportunities to come here and eat for lunch or dinner. We came in after sometime; we have been ordering in because of Covid. The quality has definitely gone down. The food came out quickly and was hot but did not taste fresh and was very oily. The restaurant was very dirty. The floor was covered with dust and food and there were dead bugs on the window sill. I ordered Ramen and the spring roll appetizer on my first visit. I have been to mind blowing ramen restaurants, one in Texas and the other in Nashville. This ramen was "okay". The noodles looked like it literally came from a ramen package and there wasn't much depth to the broth. The spring rolls were not what I was expecting to get. I think they should describe their food better on the menu. They really fixed up the place compared to the last owners. I think that six months down the road with improvements to their recipes and menu, this will be as great as some the other places I have been to. This was also my wife and I's first time eating here. I ordered octopus and my wife had tacos (take-out). About 30 minutes after consumption I became violently ill with all of the severe symptoms. My wife was moderately ill with symptoms that kept her up all night (I'm writing this at 0400am since we've both been up). The experience from beginning to end was not pleasant as there were items unavailable and staff was atrocious with customer service (excluding the new girl at the front). So after discovering Mediterranean grill was closed. I checked this place out. They opened exactly at 11:30. When I first walked in I was like this place is so cute and trendy spot to eat. Even though it had lettuce in it, which is a little unusual, the rest of the ingredients were traditional, and it was done in the traditional hot stone pot, which made the rice a little crunchy as it's supposed to. The Kanpungi was more like a sweet/sour chicken, and wasn't very spicy-but still tasted good. The Yangnyum chicken wings were great. I got the spicy version, and they reminded me of Korean chicken wings that I've had in Chicago. The Korean tacos were decent, though I've had better.
