Party of 9 and called ahead. Our table was waiting for us and they were not very busy since we got there at 5:30. Our neighbors have 5 children and their only exposure to Korean food was through me. I've eaten here before and it was good. And since they had no clue about the menu or what to order, I ordered for the table and requested everything be served "family style". I also requested tasting spoons for all and forks for most. I ordered 2 bulgogi, 2 spicy pork bulgogi, 2 Kalbi short ribs, seafood pancake, and kimchi jigae. While the food was fine, I hate soggy rice. I don't like the way they serve the bulgogi over the rice with so much juice! You know those small metal cups(water cups) that are sitting on a small saucer? When we asked for extra plates so we could all share and taste. Our server told us to use the little saucer that was under the little cup. Ugh. I wanted to really give my neighbors a good first impression but clearly our server had too much going on for him to handle. I have been sick for days after going there. The prices were absolutely ridiculous. Cold rice, sides were old, the lighting made it so you couldn't even tell if the meat was cooked or not. I over cooked it just to try and avoid food poisoning, still didn't work. The rules of the restaurant are absurd. The whole experience was awful and robs your wallet. Do not recommend. Asian food (outside of the Indian subcontinent) has never been my thing. I've had some decent ramen, but overall, the flavors and textures just aren't my preference. But I wanted to try something new, so I tried Naru. Naru is Korean. They have a regular menu and a BBQ menu. We tried a regular menu to start. I am not 100 percent clear on the BBQ part, as to whether they cook it or you cook it, but you usually get a private room, and pretty much all you can eat (but don't order more than you can eat, because there is an additional charge for leftovers). Anyway, the menu is a little confusing to those new to the system, but the staff is happy to answer questions. I ordered the ramen. I've had better in NYC, but it was still warm and pleasant and salty. I also accidentally ordered the cold spicy noodles (like I said, we didn't quite understand the menu, that's on us). I wasn't a huge fan, but the experience of the food was better than the flavors for me. I had no idea how to assemble or eat the dish. A man I assumed to be the owner, noticed my confusion and came over to our table. He showed me how to assemble the dish, which sauces to use, and how to eat it. I really appreciated that, and it was a lot of fun! He was so friendly and helpful! My husband had a teriyaki lunch box, and it was pretty tasty. I have friends who eat here, who really enjoy it, and I'm told local Koreans also give kudos to this food. So even though I'm not a big fan of this type of food in general, I would try it again, just to try more new things and to learn more about the culture. read more

What a gem in Clarksville. I have eaten my share of Korean BBQ on the coasts, and I must say that Naru hits the spot. First, the ambiance is pretty close to what I would expect from a Korean BBQ place. Second, we had beef brisket, pork belly, bulgogi, galbi, rib eye, and pork jowl on the grill. The bulgogi and galbi were a tad on the sweet side, but that is pretty typical of most Korean restaurants. The brisket and rib eye were well-marbled and melted in your mouth. The ban-chon were plentiful, and they provided more when we ran out. I also had the kimchi jigae which was also excellent. It was better than how my mom made it. A minor criticism of Naru is that the menu is not as expansive as other Korean restaurants. However, what they have on the menu, they do well. I would definitely go back when I am in Clarksville again. read more

I must say this is a nice restaurant. Their Cold buckwheat noodles are THE BEST I have ever had. I am obsessed with them! I did have an issue when once I tried to order them on a delivery app. They were not listed so I selected something similar and put it in the notes. I was actually called and told the owner would not allow the substitution. Very disappointing. Same price, they knew what I wanted and know I frequent there, but...nope. SMH. However, they are good so I still frequent the establishment. Their plum iced tea is unique, tart, delicious and refreshing! Bulgogi is tasty. Appetizers are yummy. Stopped by here during the week after grabbing some groceries. The atmosphere is quiet refreshing. It's quiet and a bit more private if you get the BBQ tables. HIGHLY RECOMMEND shelling out the cash for the "all you could eat" option. It's about $30 per person, but provides you endless servings of about 6-7 types of meat. The waiting staff is amazing. They're extremely attentive to you're every need and continually check to make sure you have the gradual flow of continuous food that you want. With Hankook Tire and LG opening their factory locations in Clarksville, there were some Korean restaurant opened in anticipation of that. This is one of them. The owners' family used to run restaurants in ATL (other family may still do), and we were so happy to have an authentic Korean restaurant that tastes modern and good. Here, you need to know what to get though. Spicy beef brisket soup with noodle (You could get the soup without noodles, which is served with rice instead) : Its spicy but not overwhelmingly spicy. There is brisket, bean sprouts (the Korean kind not the pho kind), long stems of green onions. This stuff is soo good! When its cold out and I dont want pho, this is what I get. The brisket could taste a little chewy but that's how think brisket tastes in soup(I think). Spicy Sausage Soup : This is not too spicy. It has sausages/hotdogs, tofu and kimchi in the soup. This is called Budae Jjigae in Korea and its very popular soup where you could add ramen noodles to it. You could get a large one where you could share or an individual one. Its served with rice and side dishes. If you like kimchi soup, you will like this too. Spicy pork over rice and spicy squid over rice is very good here. I think they do spicy better than non spicy. If you are feeling a little more daring try their Spicy beef short rib. Its come with Korean cut (not LA galbi) short ribs with rice cake, potato, carrots and onions. One thing to note is their Dolsot Bibimbap is not served on a stone bowl, but instead served in a stone tray!! Its not that they give more food, but its just wide and hard to mix. I think Golae has the best Bibimbap. read more

Back home you can find AYCE kbbq on every other block for $10-$20 lunch specials. Usually $20-$35 for dinner. I believe it was about $30 all you can eat per person for dinner, which is fair. Service was mediocre, we had to ask for everything we wanted a few times. Meat marinade was fairly good. I read that this was one of the only all you can eat places. Glad we don't live too far. Sides were good, not super fresh though. Ate about 2-3 rounds of 3 diff meats per round. Sauces were good. Can't go wrong with adding jalapeños and garlic onto the grill. Will def be back to get my fix at least once a month or every couple months. Bf isn't too big on the buffets/all you can eat and I don't wanna go alone, haha. Based on yelp we popped in here and this is a hidden gem. (In the Lowes shopping center). Their food is good but their heat has been out for a month and I think they're too cheap to fix it. They're using ghetto propane heaters for now, but they're incredibly ineffective. The ambiance of the place was actually really nice the amount of lighting was a good amount as to not be too bright the sitting were booth I came in a group of 6 so we were all able to fit into one booth which was nice. The service was alright reason being was that the waiter wouldn't really come around to actually check on us and ask if we needed anything we had to wave down the waiter just to request anything we needed from food to drinks at one point our waiter disappeared not saying if he was going on break or anything so we were confused as to who we should ask for anything. Now the food honestly was really good! The quality for what we got is to be expected but I felt like the food honestly was quite expensive but they only charged for the meats the simple stuff like rice and side dishes were all free. At the end of it everything that we ordered came out to a total of about 60-70 a person. It was great but I don't think I'd return just due to pricing as I prefer the all you can eat at a set price which is about 50% than what was paid but there's nothing wrong with this place!
