It's disappointing how the staff acts friendly just to push unnecessary products. An employee named I believe was Omar tried to sell me everything possible, including a set of $70 wipers. Even after I told him I had replaced them just last month, he wouldn't let it go and suddenly dropped the price to $40. I'm guessing they get like some type of bonus for every accessories sold While I can appreciate the hustle, it felt more like harassment than service. They greet me, open my door, hold the door open to the lobby...offer water and coffee. Truly a warm, friendly environment. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE as I brought my wife's 2019 Audi Q5 to get an oil change. All workers working on car was very friendly and thorough!!! They knew exactly what they were doing! I got a routine oil change last night here. When I was driving home, the "low oil" light came on. I immediately pulled over and called jiffy lube. They said they knew about the sensor and they thought the tech told me, but that the oil change was fine and I need to go to a mechanic to get it turned off because it is not their fault. I was shocked by this because when I came in I did not have that sensor on. I went to the dealership the next morning to have them check this out and turns out this jiffy lube used the wrong filter, did not replace the washer seal and over torqued the drain plus which caused the sensor to trigger. I had to reschedule a full morning of meetings and this was an expensive fix. I will never go back to this Jiffy Lube location. They caused an issue with my car from the oil change they did. My fiancé just took my car here for an oil change today. They took my car outside when it was done, left all the windows open while it was raining, and told him it was ready for him to leave. When he went to my car to go home, everything was soaken wet and my keys were missing. He had to go back in to ask them where the keys were, and mentioned to them that they left all the windows open while it was raining, and now the inside of the car was all wet. The man at the register shrugged his shoulders with an attitude and said "there's my manager if you want to talk to him" no apology, no accountability. They had no clue which keys were mine after he told them they were missing. The manager did go outside to wipe down my car, which was appreciated, but the whole situation was unpleasant and aggravating, which wasn't necessary. read more

I came for the oil change. I asked the guy specifically not to touch the filters in my car. Anyway, my request fell on deaf ears. They presented me Black of dirt Engine and cabin filters claiming that they are from my car. I checked the filters before I came to Jiffy Lube and they were white like new. No wonder they were replaced a few days ago. The guy was very argumentative when I asked him why he touched my filters when I had just told him NOT TO DO THAT. As I observed, they showed the same dirty filters to another client before they presented them to me. In addition, they overfilled the engine with the oil far above the required level. read more

Went for an oil change tried to sell me a transmission change on a sealed transmission. When I asked if they had the equipment to service my transmission he said maybe another location might have it I said i will take care of it somewhere else. I noticed some employee sitting in my car for a long time. When i got home I noticed all my dash settings were different and my oil life was at 14% I called snd eplained that my oil life was not reset and was asked to drive back so they could reset it. When I asked why this wasn't automatically done as part of the service i got excuses we were busy ect. So i guess if it is busy there then you won't get good service. I went to get only an inspection on my car and when they gave it back my car had oil spots on the arm rest, on the glove compartment, my personal items on the glove compartment, and on both door handles of the driver, and passenger side, left my lights off, put the passenger seat all the way lean back and never put it back how it was before and all outside the car. Wow...now this was very refreshing. I came here for an oil change on 07/18/19. I believe the two employees helping me were Curtis and Edgar (not 100 percent sure larger guy with long hair). They ROCKED very professional and polite. This jiffy lube is located right off Harlem and very easy to get to. There are two entrances which make it very accessible. When you pull in an employee immediately greets you and opens door. They bring you into a waiting area and offer you coffee/ water. My car was done in around 15 minutes (guesstimate). I felt I wasn't waiting long. Service is prompt and efficient. Prices are fair and you get what you pay for. I would definitely go back here and plan to. They have gained a repeat customer. My father is out of town so myself and my husband have been switching off using vehicles. He works all the way by Midway and we reside closer to O'Hare so there's A LOT of traveling involved on a daily basis. I have a little guy in 1st grade and a 9 month old baby girl and the last thing I want to deal with is any type of car issue especially when they're with me. Because let me tell you, shit gets stressful when you're on mom duty and trying to simply adult. With my luck, something always happens lol--in this case it was minor but annoying. The back passenger tire kept leaking air. We quickly ruled out the issue being the cold temp since it eventually started having to get filled up every 2-3 days. We knew something had to be stuck in the tire and since I needed an oil change done I decided to bring it into Jiffy Lube. It was 9AM (on a Friday), they were already working on 3 cars and one was waiting when I pulled up. I was greeted by a gentleman within 2 minutes and we established I was in for a synthetic oil change and a tire check. He placed the paperwork on the dashboard and I waited about 10 mins before he came back out to explain to me that they were quickly taking in an older woman who only needed her windshield wipers changed. Cool. Not a problem. Baby wasn't fussy so it worked out great. I waited a total of 15 mins before Jennifer came out to take the truck. As I was stepping out, she noticed I had a baby with me and told me to just go to the back seat with her and that they'd service my vehicle with us inside-- she didn't want me carrying her out in this windy 40 degree weather. I LITERALLY melted. I thanked her a million because not a lot of people care or understand that it's a struggle out here with these kids. Especially during the flu season, with Covid, and other variants going around. Once Jennifer drove us inside, Omar came over to me, he quoted me, talked to me about what they recommended, showed me the filter, and double checked if they were okay to lift the truck to make sure nothing was in the back tire. Luckily, they were able to do so and thank God they did because one of the guys found a screw. He then showed it to me, patched up the tire, and we were good to go. Omar came back with my total, I showed him a $10 off coupon that I googled, he applied it, and I gave him cash for the entirety. I paid $84.99 for the synthetic oil change (which is $20 more than what I usually pay for when I go to the Jiffy Lube in the city on North Ave) and $19.99 for the patch up. I was there for less than an hr, baby girl was elated that I was tending to her in the back seat, and I was glad the team was such good sports about everything. If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. The WORST attitude from the staff and they weren't even busy. Had one car in service and I brought my 2010 Toyota Camry that I had just bought because I needed an Uber inspection done. Before I even drove completely in, this woman comes up to my window and already starts asking what I need done before I even park. She told me it was PASS/FAIL which I understood and I told her my check engine light was on and asked if that was an automatic fail or not. She went to go ask someone else about this and I watched her talk to about 3 different mechanics before she got an answer. THIS IS WHERE TROUBLE CAME IN. This taller hispanic guy comes out with his little flashlight and barely takes a look at my car. Doesn't even greet me or anything and automatically tells me that it's not even worth getting the inspection done. His attitude and demeanor was so rude and before I could even ask any questions, he just says "yeah, so it's best if you go somewhere else." (and not in a friendly way).. HE DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE CAR UP CLOSE! The way he told me all of this then continued helping someone else and completely disregarding me was extremely rude. Will not come back here for anything and management should definitely look into hiring more experienced and friendlier staff... do not recommend! read more

Hustlers and dishonest. Must have thought I was a stupid old man. Tell me my antifreeze was down three pints. I checked the level in the reservoir before I went in and it was at the max. Also printed out a coupon from their website for $10 off any synthetic oil change. Specifically listed the three types of synthetic oil changes that applied, including synthetic blend. Manager told me that the coupon was only for full synthetic only despite what it said. They soon found out I wasn't a stupid old man but a practicing attorney for 30 years and know how to file a Consumer Fraud complaint. I'll never go there again. read more

I waited a while to write this review but here it is. Earlier this year I went in to get (1) rear light replaced. I told them up front that's all I needed because I had just went to the dealership for some Maintenence work & knew exactly the state of my car in other areas based upon their inspection. The guy "acted" like he understood so when I saw them popping open the hood I immediately signaled for someone to come talk to me. Bottom line they did what the *#%^ they wanted to do & blames it on they had to do a check fluids blah blah blah per policy. I know this is BS. Anyway when they were done sure enough they "found" something to try to get a few extra bucks saying 2 of the smaller side front lights were blown & I told them "so". They just kept talking so I said go ahead & fix it & give me my car. Bottom line beware, these crumbsnatchers were so thirsty for that extra $25 that they ignored my wishes & proceeded to do what they wanted. I bet if I was a man they wouldn't have tried this #*^%. Don't go here, these people are utterly ridiculous. Go to one of the surrounding shops who probably "listen" to & care about what the customer wants. read more

Quick and thorough. I need to get an oil change before going to work. Upon entering I was greeted at the bay. The gentleman named Nathan was very polite and walked my daughter and I into the wait area. The other gentleman named Jose who reviewed the details of the oil change with me was very polite and efficient. We were just at this location 4 days ago with our other household vehicle. My trusty paperback copy of the American Heritage dictionary tersely defines "jiffy" as "A moment". The word is of unknown origin. I wonder if "Jif" peanut butter is a shortened variation of "jiffy". I should ask choosy moms why no one says "in a jiffy" anymore. Maybe it's because in our technologically advanced world "in a jiffy" is just too slow for us these days...our phones, computers, and brains can process things much faster. Maybe it was just my "want it now" impatient brain, but spending an hour getting an oil change at this Jiffy Lube just seemed to defy the reasons for going to Jiffy Lube and paying higher prices for quicker service in the first place. For starters, like so many businesses on Harlem Avenue, you can only enter on the southern entrance, and only traveling west at that. This Jiffy Lube is tiny and I happened to park behind a guy who decided to get the whole shebang, apparently! Waiting in the tiny waiting area, watching the tiny TV, thinking tiny thoughts, I got the creeping feeling that I chose the wrong Jiffy Lube on such a beautiful fall afternoon! Customer after customer came and went. We waiting customers laughed at the family dysfunctions on "Everybody Loves Raymond", exchanged pleasantries, and after having so much time together, made plans for the weekend, New Year's Eve, and agreed to become Godparents to future children! Eventually, the "whole shebang" guy came back in with his wife. I guess he didn't speak English and agreed to a whole bunch of stuff she didn't want done on their car. Too bad, so sad. Everything here is perfectly explained before they start working on your car. Not even a language barrier can be blamed, because a polite and helpful technician shows it to you right on a colored computer screen with pretty pictures of oil with prices spelled out before you agree to anything. I felt sorry for the Manager, who took an earful from the English-speaking wife of "whole shebang" guy, but I felt more sorry for myself for choosing this Jiffy Lube on such a beautiful day. I visited this location on 01/31/22 to get an Uber inspection. I was initially met by Carl who was very professional and genuinely happy to be working there which showed through his communications and interactions. The thorough inspection was performed by Jenny who also very engaging and professional. They found a few of my fluids low and rather than trying to up sale me on unnecessary services/fluid changes, they met the need as necessary. The visit needed with Omar, who appears to lead the amazing team there, explaining then findings and potential problems to address in the future. I have been going here for a couple years and each time I get a discount off (roughly 15-10$) for an oil change because I bring my families 3 vehicles here... but today I ran into an issue. Was told (by a short, light skinned, brown haired guy) that they don't price match anymore! I've been coming here for over 2 plus years and with 3 vehicles and you tell me some bs that you don't price match? All I wanted was their normal price match of $10 off... First of all, let me just say I always bring my car to the dealership. However, I wasn't able to get to the dealership in time for my last oil change & I didn't want it to be delayed so I brought my car here. I figured this place has good reviews & something is better than nothing. WRONG. The person working on my car failed to replace the drain cap & now I need a new engine. In addition to that, no one is assisting me with a rental & no one has been able to provide me with an update on the status of my claim. Never go here unless you like spending your days emailing & calling people & getting nowhere. I understand mistakes happen but they are doing very little to rectify the situation. Corporate says it's the franchisee's responsibility & the franchisee says someone from corporate will contact me. It has been a joke dealing with these people. read more

The amount of professionalism this location has, from the young man that greeted me, told me to watch my step walking into the waiting area, to Jose my Service Advisor, And Felix my other technician, I felt like I was royalty the way they had serviced me for a routine oil change. The whole time they were professional, courteous and respectful. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking to get in and out in a Jiffy . The last time I got an oil change, I went to the Pepboys off Grand and waited over an hour before they even took my car in and then waited another hour for them to change my oil. I show up to this Jiffy Lube a little after 8 am, they immediately take my car back and three people started to work on it. They topped my fluids, changed two bulbs, changed my oil, and aired up my tires in under 20 min. The employees were extremely friendly. This will be my go to shop from here on out. read more

I sent my 16 year old son on his own for his first time to get an oil change. Trying to teach some responsibility and life lessons. Oh boy did he get one from your staff. I specifically told him "do not buy up anything other than get the oil change" and used wipers as an example. Next thing I know there is a $355.16 charge for an oil change. He was told by your staff to follow the manufacturer's recommendation and therefor understood it as part of the oil change. AT NO POINT did they ask if these services have been done. At no point did they ask about the history of the car. They had no history, they just told him it needed to be done per the manufacturer recommendation. When I called to discuss the mishap, they immediately knew exactly who I was talking about and said "we do not put words in people's mouths." I asked if "radiator flush" ever came out of his and they admitted no. I asked if "AC Evacuation and Recharge" ever came out of his mouth, and they said no. The car did not need a Radiator Flush or AC Evacuation and Recharge. All services had been regularly maintained at dealership. Under current circumstances of COVID, I trusted that corporate brands didn't play these games anymore. I was certainly wrong. I left my call on May 27th with Jiffy Lube with expectations that a manager would call me back as suggested they would, but no one has. I see this as predatory selling. I will take my complaint to the BBB and Yelp. You should be super proud of your staff for taking advantage of an inexperienced kid. I'm sure predatory selling works often on young kids and elderly. The services had been done, I recognize there's no giving them back. All I asked for was some type of acknowledgment and correction of this and cannot even get a call back from management.
