I brought my 2011 Ranger in for a quote last month, which was making noise and creating exhaust. I have two catalytic converters on this truck with pipes etc. I was told it would be $1.800 to replace both sides. Shame on me for not looking once they had my truck on the lift. I had another quote for $1,200 at Velasquez and sons on 5700 Elston. I got a tip on an honest shop on 2600 N. Laramie, who noticed my clamps were loose which caused my exhaust issues. Everything was tightened up and checked for the tune of $40.00! Nothing was wrong with converters or flex pipes. So Iggy would have got probaby $600.00 more on selling converters etc. Stay clear of this place and always ask to see what is going on and why. read more

I brought my car in to Iggy's and had Mike as the salesperson. I brought it in at 8am during the week as he advised. I was there until 11:30am. He test drove it and his mechanic looked at the car several times. The clanking in the rear wheel was still happening after they greased some things. They said I'd have to make another appointment to troubleshoot it. When Mike backed the car out of the shop garage I said to him look at this scratch on the rear quarter panel. He didn't say much but I said I wash this car often enough to know that wasn't there. It was fresh white chalk and a deep gouge. I took pictures. I then was heading home. I was pulling away with the same problem I came in with when another guy ran out of their office with paperwork from their computer system indicating another part needed to be greased. I said let's do that. He said I would need to make another appointment. This was after being there from 8am to 11:30. I asked did you only now look that up? No response. I went home and tried to see how washing the car would help with the scratch. It didn't help. It has a dent where the deepest part of the scratch is and the paint was scratched off. No resolution from Mike after we discovered it at the same time. I wash the car often as I told him and it wasn't there upon arriving there. He didn't say anything or take responsibility about paying the auto body repair bill from his mechanic's accident. I will hold out hope and change my review if they will contact me and pay their mechanic's damage repair bill from the auto body shop. When I got home I read the reviews. A lady mentioned her trunk was went through and her tire inflator was missing after her visit. I immediately went out to my car after getting home and checked my trunk. I had an old tire inflator so that was still there. My trunk was ransacked. As you can see in the picture everything was went through. My instant camera for documenting accidents was gone and a part in my tire repair kit was missing. The picture attached was the surprisingly messed up trunk. It's normally neatly layered with blankets and plastic covering and folded up store grocery bags in a pile on the side. I have learned to never leave things in the trunk when taking the car to a repair shop. Also, take it to Pete's Automotive on Higgins near Milwaukee. About a year ago, I bought a used car with a "noisy" muffler. I kinda got used to the noise, but it suddenly elevated which necessitated immediate repair. My usual mechanic who doesn't do exhaust/emission work had told me I needed a flex pipe and it wouldn't be too much. I called an exhaust place near my house and the guy told me he'd have to look at it - it would likely be more than just a flex pipe and that he didn't "just weld parts on like some guy in an alley." His words had merit, but were delivered pretty abruptly, so I decided to stop at a muffler place that I had passed many times before while leaving work in the morning - a "second opinion" so to speak. That place was Iggy's. I arrived just before they opened and told the guy at the counter what was going on. He told me it would be a half an hour or so to assess, so I went to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast and awaited his call. About a half an hour later, the call came in - he tells me it's more than a flex pipe - it's just about the whole exhaust system and that it will be about $895 plus tax. I was disappointed, but given my earlier call with the other place, it didn't come as a surprise. I told him to go ahead - he gave me a 3 hour estimate, so I Ubered it home from CFA. I got a call about when I expected telling me the car was done. Back to Iggy's to pick up - $990 with tax. Turned the car on - the "Check Engine" light that had come on earlier that morning was still on. Just a reset issue and they immedialtely fixed it. When I looked at the bill, I noticed they had replaced the catalytic converter - kind of surprised as that part wasn't specifically mentioned earlier- but they DID come in within their estimate and for what I know about catalytic converter costs, it was a good value. So, while there may have been tiny hiccups that were easily resolved, I'd say my overall experience at Iggy's was really good. Repairs were done in a timely manner and at a fair cost. This is a place I'll likely use again. read more

I had been referred by my regular service shop to a muffler shop for a problem with my 2009 Honda Fit. (The first major problem with this car since I bought it in 2009!) Found Iggy's by reviews. Did my research beforehand and anticipated that I'd have to make an appointment and they'd have to keep my car and I'd have to spend a lot of money to have the problem fixed. Took a drive over to set up the work. Despite the fact that it was barely an hour before their closing time on a Friday they put my car on a lift and inspected the whole assembly. Then the shop guy comes out and asks me if I want to see what's going on with the muffler! Shows me where the problem is and what needs to be fixed. I'm still seeing dollars fly out of my bank account because these parts are very hard to get. Instead, he tells me they can do some welding right then and there and I'll be good to go! Tells me to have a seat and it'll be done in just a bit. Got the necessary fix for 15% of what I thought I was going to have to pay! Was treated with respect by the mechanic. Recently had my Cat stolen off my car,had it towed to IGGY'S for a ESTIMATE! This guy Pete was unprofessional and rude. He never called me with the estimate that my insurance gave him. He the next day calls and said the cars ready for pick up. I never gave him permission to work on the car! we had a conversation about it and he said he thought I wanted it fixed. Without asking me? He then became upset and MOTHER F! Me. I told him to undo the work and I would pick up the car that evening. I get there he throws the key's at the counter and said my origninal muffler is in the back seat. He cut off all the original pipes and only gave the muffler. What a real WINNER! Thank you to Pete and Mike for taking such good care of my 2015 GMC Terrain. Brought it in for a muffler and also had them replace spark plugs, filters and anti freeze. This is an "old school" business who takes care of their customers, explains everything and even showed me my old spark plugs full of carbon. Had a great experience here. They accommodated me late in the daThey charge by the hour but they work efficiently. I had my Meisterschaft Exhaust installed and was pleased with how it sounds. I might be back to put my resonator back because my 335i is straight piped and it drones for days. Look for Pete! Update: Pete put my resonator back and it cut the drone by 75%. I took my business truck to this place to fix the Break/ABS( The notification lights were on). Mike, one of the people working in the shop, assured me that repair was done and the lights taking care of and he charged me almost $800 for the labor and parts. A few days later, the lights came back on. I returned the truck and requested to fix what I had paid for already. When I followed up after two days, another associate (very rude) told me I either should pay more to fix it or wait for mike to come back!!! Getting the job done is one thing, but sometimes what matters is customer service. I don't know if "Pete" is having a bad day but regardless of how his day is going, i believe that he should be conducting himself professionally. Yes they were able to install my battery albeit taking them close to 55 minutes to do so and that was fine with me. When Pete took my keys to get my car service, i didn't mind that he was curt thinking that he was just busy (it wasn't busy that day). But upon payment, he slammed the invoice on the table, not saying anything, took my card that i set on the counter, did not even break down or discuss the pricing with me , and just processed the payment without even telling me how much. Paid $225 for a battery installation and to cap off what has been a horrible experience, he tossed my card back at me without even saying anything. I took it upon myself to politely ask him: "Excuse me, have i said or done something wrong to you Sir?" and he just snarkily said: "JUST SIGN THE RECEIPT" Again, if you don't mind HORRENDOUS customer service as long as it gets the job done, go to Iggy's. I rarely take the time to write reviews but this occurrence was just something that people should know. Must have been an off day. Went in and wanted a quote to change out my x pipe on a 2020 mustang GT. Since I heard about all the wonderful things they do here , I figured I'd stop in and ask. Pete made it sound like it's something he's never done or never heard of doing. Couldn't really give me a firm quote to install even if I bought the pipe and brought it in. Guess it was a bad day but I was not impressed by the customer service mostly. Guess they don't need new customers! read more

In '99, these fellas did my 1964 Olds and when picked up, the general sense was solid, proper workmanship. Whats more is during the build of that car, the pair of exhaust manifolds were lost. (!) This was a wacky 394 engine that was simply hard to get anything for, but part of the requested work was to replace them. Done. In late 2004, I sold that car to a cool kid in Kenosha. That car was replaced with a 1967 Chrysler that I still have to this day, and the entire exhaust needed to be CORRECTLY done. Before the engine was built by Opel Engineering over in Streamwood (EXCELLENT WORK!!!), I had the neighbourhood shit-shop on the corner of Clark and Pratt do a dual system. Awful. Leaks everywhere, generally sloppy work, etc. What really pissed me off though is that they bolted the hangers for each side through my trunk floor!! Im not joking, there was a bolt coming up through the trunk floor on each side. I immediately flipped out and had them remove both. Not cool. These folks are good for a simple muffler install or a "quick fix" of a dragging tail pipe. Thats it! After the fresh engine went in, I had Fair Muffler rip all that out and do a complete system from the header collectors back. Better than average work, but an on-going annoyance of the piping right behind the header collector hitting the passenger side torsion bar when in reverse. Part of this was because of the very aggressive cam, but their solution was to just heat up the piping and bend it away. Not a good solution as now the diameter is smaller and the flow restricted. Still though in reverse it sounded like I had severe rod-knock as it clack-clack-clacked against the torsion bar. This plus the mufflers installed were WAY too loud (Magna-Flow). Fuck all that. I decided to return to Iggy's and brought the '67 in. They tore it all out as I requested (no up-selling at all), installed all new piping, installed an H pipe, installed a pair of 02 sensor bungs for the fuel monitors in the car, slipped on a pair of Flow-Master mufflers I brought with and seriously, it looked stellar. Truly clean, VERY neat, and proper. Something that I wasnt aware of is that the size of the piping from the muffler back and over the rear axle was not the same as in front of it when Fair Muffler did it. This kind of pissed me off being as I was very clear I wanted 2.5" all the way from headers back when Fair Muffler did it. Needless to say Iggy's caught this and made it right. Bottom line, nothing has changed with Iggy's from when I was there in '99 and again 20 (YES 20 years) later. Whats even more trippy is the fella that was doing my Chrysler... remembered my '64 Olds (even that it was black) when we started talking about when I was there 20 years earlier after everything was done. Thats cool... and a sign of stability that the same folks stay with the company. read more

Iggy's is a family own business and they've been around for a long time. I've been referred to them by my shop because my catalytic converter was stolen. I had some problems with the towing company where they didn't deliver my car to the shop and they put it in storage instead. Although I've never met Pete at Iggy's before, he stayed on the phone with me and the towing company for the longest time and helped me out tremendously. If it wasn't for Pete, I wouldn't have gotten my car out as fast as I did. They're very nice, decent and honest people and they really care about their customers. They did such a great job on my car, had it done in no time and their prices are so decent. This will be my go to shop from now own. Highly, highly recommended. Need a Custom Exhaust on your Engine Swap or Hot Rod, don't waste money, go to Iggy's even if you have to have it towed on a flatbed there. I have a 73 Camaro with an LS2 swap, had a "Speed Shop" install the system, had nothing but issues with the system to the point the hangers that shop installed broke and the exhaust dropped. Before it fell off there were leaks and it rattled a lot not to mention it was loud and obnoxious. Took the car to Iggy's, they replaced the system and I was able to inspect it before leaving, Day and Night is all I can say. Unless you have money to throw out the window suggest you do the same. Did I mention it cost a fraction of what the alleged "Speed Shop" cost? I took my first Hot Rod there in the 70's and will never make the mistake of taking another anywhere else. read more

I went to a couple of other muffler shops before coming to Iggy's. Nobody could help me with what I needed. My car sits low to the ground so needed my exhaust tucked up so that it wouldn't scrape anymore, I also needed some parts of the piping replaced for the same reason. I called Iggy's who was recommended to me by a friend. They told me to bring it in and they'll take a look to see what could be done. Thirty minutes after I brought it in, my exhaust was being repaired and tucked. They did an awesome job and I highly recommend them for any custom exhaust work needed.
