Unfortunately the free air machine at Giant Eagle was messed up and did the exact opposite of filling my tire... it busted off the stem and deflated it, leaving me stranded. I had more travel coming up and needed to get it fixed ASAP the next day. After going to another spot in Grove City that said it would take four hours, I decided to give Firestone a try since it was really close by. The gentleman working the front was super helpful and said he could get it done in about an hour and they had the specific piece I needed - what a lifesaver. About an hour in they called to let me know that it would be a little longer, which was much appreciated. I just shopped around at the nearby stores until it was ready. Not only was the staff super helpful and informative, but they communicated with me really well. I drove off all fixed up and was able to make the trip I had planned for the next morning, right on time. Thank you so much, my Christmas miracle!

Very knowledgeable mechanics and very nice to employers in general, but very expensive place for…read morerepairs. I usually take my car in for oil, filter and tire rotation, $45 or so, not bad. However, any mechanical repair is extremely expensive. I received an estimate to change the sway away bars, rear suspension/rear shock absorbers and change the tripods for close to $1,500. I found a local small shop mechanic that did it for less than $700. Also, on another vehicle, the horn wasn't working, so Oxford gave me an estimate to fix it for $450. I reviewed YouTube videos and was able to fix it myself, since the problem was simply that the ground cable was not making contact. Bought a 2' copper cable, changed the horn and changed the plug, all for less than $60. Yes, $450 vs $60. Again, I don't think they are bad mechanics, but way too pricey. Won't go back.

They denied covering the cost of a new engine because when we had it towed to another shop closer to home, after the mechanics there removed the original oil filter and discarded it. Even though our new mechanic took pictures of where the oil plug should have been and confirmed that it had fallen out, Goodyear would not cover their mistake. We ended up having to pay for the new motor ourselves out of pocket. Because of this, I will NEVER take any of my vehicles here again. Apparently, loyalty is a one way street with Goodyear.

Located on Sullivant Avenue just east of Demorest and on the south edge of Westgate Park SHIFFLET'S is convenient and they provide a shuttle, drop box availability, towing, a cool lobby, car rental services and both highly skilled ASE mechanics and office and support personnel that you wouldn't want anything more. This might not make sense but it has to be one of those little tiny things they have and that they use that really appeals to me... they text message on an isolated text line that you as a customer have access to. My inspection report with pictures came as a link in a text message. Updates were sent. It is so much easier using text messaging than playing phone tag around your availability to voice talk. Prices are so competitive that I don't believe price will be the factor that pushes your decision to use their services. I believe that their commitment to the customer by highly skilled long-time employees in a family-owned shop will be the deciding factors in choosing SHIFFLET'S. For some reason, something was nagging me to just take it to another shop. Nevertheless, I contacted Boyd's and scheduled appointment. During the call, I advised of the coupon and provided my make/model of my vehicle. If this coupon would not be honored - due to the type of oil - then I should have been told during that call. Upon arriving, the man at the counter was not trying to hear me and kept mansplaining that the coupon I needed to use was the one on the bottom, which would require an up charge due to my car not using conventional. He was NOT hearing me about wanting the other coupon, stating my car didn't take conventional oil.......it didn't take it for the other coupon either which is why I needed to do upcharge. I was okay with paying additional fee for the $44.95 coup; however, they were not honoring THEIR coupon and I would have to start at $79 for services on the $44.95 coupon. PERHAPS A BAIT AND SWITCH? Another man on the phone interjected to "just give it to her" and started looking a for way to ring it up. However, another man immediately came from the back area and started the same mansplaining, saying no to the other man's trying to find solution. Needless to say, I just left and have no plans to ever return. Perhaps better customer service skills and an actual care for your business will help them. Ridiculous!!

As it turns out, Boyd's had correctly identified a problem which a body shop and the dealer later missed. I am most grateful to them. The front subframe was indeed rusted out. When some rust scale was removed, you could see a hole in the subframe, and it was clear that it was compromised in other areas as well. Boyd's is once again my go-to shop. I was reassured that the quality and honesty I have expected from them for over 25 years now continues.
