These guys are professional and priced well. I've taken my car here twice and it's had zero issues.

    Take 5 Oil Change

    (6 reviews)

I had a very concerning experience at the Take 5 Oil Change in Englewood, Ohio…read more When I first arrived, the technicians appeared unsure about my vehicle's oil requirements. Two employees went back and forth several times trying to determine the correct type of oil and the number of quarts needed, checking and rechecking the information multiple times before starting the service. During the oil change, the technician asked me to look at the dipstick to "verify" the oil level. However, when he showed it to me, he was holding the dipstick down and wiping it while presenting it, which made it difficult to actually see the oil level. I relied on their expertise because I am not a mechanic, which is exactly why I go to a professional service to have my oil changed. When I started my car after the service, the vehicle immediately began shaking. The employee who serviced my car looked at me when the car started shaking and told me everything was fine. However, while driving home the shaking continued and worsened after I exited the highway. I contacted my regular mechanic and sent photos. They instructed me to bring the vehicle in immediately. My mechanic confirmed that the oil had been significantly overfilled and had to redo the oil change to correct the issue. We also noticed that the mileage sticker placed on my car was incorrect and showed an unusual interval that did not align with the typical 5,000-mile oil change recommendation or the mileage on my vehicle. When I contacted the Englewood location, I showed the manager the photo of the dipstick showing the oil level above where it should be and the sticker from the service, asking how the mileage number was calculated because it did not match the math based on my current mileage. The manager acknowledged that the oil level in the photo appeared to be overfilled and apologized for his staff. He stated that he would do whatever was necessary to make it right and told me they would issue a refund. I sent the documentation as requested. However, I later received a letter from the district manager stating that they would not approve the claim because camera footage allegedly showed the oil level being verified with me before I left. Simply showing a customer a dipstick does not mean the oil level was actually correct or properly verified. I trusted the technicians to perform the service correctly and had to pay another mechanic to correct the mistake and resolve the issue it caused. When I attempted to follow up with the location after receiving the denial letter, the manager was dismissive and rude. I understand that mistakes can happen and that people are human. However, when a mistake does happen, it should be acknowledged and corrected--especially after a manager initially agreed to make it right. Based on this experience, I would strongly encourage others to use caution when choosing this location for service. Update: After posting this review, the business responded publicly with a generic reply that did not address the specific concerns described above. The response did not acknowledge the documented overfilled oil, the mechanic's verification that the oil change had to be redone, or the manager's original statement that a refund would be issued. At this time, I am still requesting direct contact from someone at the corporate level who can properly review the documentation and the circumstances surrounding this service. If this issue cannot be resolved directly, I will be submitting my documentation--including mechanic verification, photos, service records, and communication with management--to corporate and the appropriate consumer protection channels for further review.

WARNING!!!! Do NOT USE THIS MAN!!!!…read more Lorenz came to my home and told me I had a simple oil leak and towed my car to the "shop" on a Friday. We had some bad weather and he stated that they needed until Wednesday to complete the job. I paid him $40 for diagnostics and then $150 for the tow. Then sent $550 for parts. I also got a rental for 5 days through budget rent a car which cost me 500$ Wednesday came and it wasn't done. He said it would be done Thursday. I got the rental another day. Another $68 and $15 extension fee. Friday came and he said it's still not done. So after a week I have paid over 1k and it's not done. He promised it would be done the following Tuesday by 8pm. I returned rental that morning. At 9pm when he didn't show up he texted that he was done but there was still an oil leak. WHAT!!!!! He said he had parts and needed until Monday. Monday morning I asked him if it was going to be completed as promised and he said no. He needed til Wednesday. So 13 days he has had my car and it's in the same condition. I just had enough and sent a tow truck to their shop to get my car. When tow truck arrived it was at someone's house. They told me it was a mechanic shop. It's a random house on a sketchy neighborhood and my car sitting in front untouched with snow covering it still. He misled me as he had a shop. He just paid google bc he was the first to pop up. I trusted him and he lied several times. I am now at a mechanic shop hats legit and have had to get ANOTHER rental car for the week. This guy has lied and set me back almost 1500 and my car is in the same condition as it was 13 days ago. Do not trust him
