I Brough my car in last week. They didn't have the oil filter for European cars so I told them no problem, went to O'Reilly, and got the one needed. Came back the next day, they said they didn't have the oil needed either for this specific car. Again, I said no problem, and since O'Reilly didn't have it in stock either, I ordered 6 quarts on Amazon. So I come back today, tell him I have the oil filter, and the oil. He then says, "Just so you know, we have to charge you the same rate even though you bought the oil, and oil filter." I told him in clear words that I wasn't going to do that, and had him open the door for me to leave. The incompetency is astounding. We have 4 vehicles, and have taken them to this location for about 5 years. I'm not doing so again. P.S. This is no fault of the worker. It's the fault of corporate policy. read more

I am not a regular JL customer. I came to this location this morning and was directed to the right bay. I drove in to where i was directed to stop. As i was getting out of my car the manager approached me and began to lecture me how i wasnt supposed to drive into the bay. Very unfriendly, no greeting. They are reliably a pleasant place to have basic maintenance services done at this Excelsior Ave Hopkins location. Been coming here for years and I do not feel they ever gouge me or add unnecessary services. I find oil change prices a little higher for the synthetic than elsewhere (compared to local non-franchise owned mechanics shops) but the convenience of drive up service is a worthwhile convenience. The reason for 5 stars today instead of my previous 4 stars is that the battery warrantee is solid here consistently. I've serviced 3 cars here, all 3 cars always ran well & no mistakes made ever in serviced on any of them. I need an updated battery & without a sweat they notice and see it could be replaced before winter to my advantage & they do. The employees always seem content and happy at this location as well. Went to get my oil changed, kind of pricey, but I could get in. Guy helping me noticed my headlight was out, offered to change it. Great! Didn't want to stand out in the Minnesota cold to do it. Well, then things took a turn. I noticed there were options he didn't mention that were cheaper than he mentioned. My fault, should have looked. Pay my bill and get ready to leave. He starts my car, HEADLIGHT IS STILL OUT! I says to him that it is still out and him and another tech start looking at it. I do some googling and find out it is probably something wrong with the switch. He says he'll get me a refund. Confused, since he changed the bulb. I'm listening to him on the phone talking to the manager, said he "accidentally" charged me for the light. Manager said he'll be there in about 5 minutes and he'll process my refund. This is where I call him out. Why did he charge me? "We thought we could change it" Quickly calls another person that walks him though how to do the refund. I kept my temper, commendable for me. No appointments needed! There were only three people working and they got me out within 30 minutes or less. I don't mind the wait as long as they gave me quality service and I think they did. My windows were wiped clean, one of the staff walked through the types of oil and service they provide & asked me to wait in their waiting area with coffee and water. When my car was ready, I gave them my $15 off coupon and paid. The gentleman told me they provide free top offs on several liquid things for my car between now and my next oil change. This means I don't have to worry about putting in windshield wiper fluid or topping off the oil if needed. Such a relief! The staff here are humble and enjoy what they do. I had to go back a week later, oil was leaking from the drain plug. They drained it all out and said that the plug was stripped so they tried to fix it with some sealant around the rim. After bringing it to my regular mechanics, they said that the plug was stripped by them ( shocker) and that the dip stick was broken off inside. So they had to fix both. I trust my regular guys and will never go back for a quick oil change when I need. I'll go over in miles and have my guys take care of it. I should go back with my receipt and get re imbursed for what we had to fix after the fact. Bullshit read more

My wife took her 2016 American car to this place and was charged approx $100.00 for oil and filter, they did didn't fill the washer fluid either. I do get prices are rising on everything everywhere but $ 100.00 .. This will be the last dollar they get from us...Business owner-- Please tell your customers how much you are going to charge before you name your price after. I usually take my car to this Jiffy Lube for my oil changes. You need to swing around back, past the multiple car maintenance places - so you have your pick! This location can get busy, but it's close to my home so I can just come back later at a better time. Some of these places can get pushy with "recommended" maintenance, but these guys (and gals) aren't too bad. Just tell them no thanks, and they back off right away. They explain everything clearly and top off all your fluids. I'll keep going back. Oh, and check for coupons. It's pretty easy to save ten bucks if you keep your eyes open. read more

I was surprised to find that since my last oil change they began charging an additional $10 for checking and topping off other fluids and vacuuming the interior. It would not surprise me if they did not check the fluids because they did little, if any, vacuuming. The front part of the cabin was pretty clean when I brought the car in, the back was not. When I left the back was still messy, they had done nothing. They used to be high priced with great service now they are very high priced with lousy service. read more

We stopped in 2 days ago for an oil change. I drive an Audi A4 Quattro. The guy comes out, says "I just need a little intel from you. What year VW is this?" We tell him, it's an AUDI. He ignores his mistake and tells us he doesn't have an oil filter for it. He claims that he's going to order it, and that it will be in the next day. He states that he's going to give us $10.00 for our inconvenience. He says we don't need an appointment, we can just stop in and they'll remember us. We stop in today. They have our name in their system. No filter. No filter ordered. No apology. Nothing. I've never had my oil changed at a Jiffy Lube before. I never will. I have never had a problem with a place needing to specialty order a filter for my car. These guys, or at least THAT guy, is an idiot. Don't waste your time here. read more

I just went there for the last time. I was determined to not get anything done but a standard oil change-good luck with that! So I drive in and say only the standard oil change no extras. I sit down and get pulled in and guess what-I need two different types of fluid changes...I even told them I had researched this online and these are not necessary...on and on they harassed me how bad my fluid looks and if I didn't take care of it something awful would happen to my car..so again I leave with $150.00 oil change that I can't afford....I said it before I will not be going back...as I was driving out the guy was yelling at me to come back for that other fluid change! I have been getting lazy and enjoying the convenience of letting other people change my oil. I Decided to switch to synthetic oil awhile back even though $50 to $60 for an oil change is expensive. I stop at Jiffy Lube for the first time last week and they wanted $115.95 for a synthetic oil change. They couldn't believe I pay $50 to $60 for an oil change everywhere else. They went into the sales pitch about how they wash your windows and vacuum your floor etc. I don't need to pay someone double to do that stuff because my car wash keeps my car very clean. I just wanted a quick oil change. I told them I would pass on the oil change and left. I went home and checked my receipts. I paid $64.26 for my last synthetic oil change at Firestone. This price includes $3 for washer fluid which ticks me off because I did not authorize that. I have a garage full of washer fluid. Anyway, I have been getting annoyed with my tires getting deflated to 30psi when the tires clearly say 51psi on them. I understand that is the max psi and there is some sticker on the inside of the door that states 32psi, but that sticker doesn't know what kind of tires are on the car, and 30 psi is WAY to low for 51psi tires! Every time I leave ANY garage, my low pressure light on the dash board is on. I then have to inflate the tires at home. In the past I have found my air filter disconnected, my valve caps not screwed on, lug nuts loose, and the oil filled only to the minimum level. I always tell every garage to not do this stuff and they do it anyway. I was recently told my air filter is dirty by a lube shop. I told them to leave it be because I have new air filters at home. I pulled my air filter out when I got home and it was perfectly clean! If someone wants to sell you an air filter, make them show you the dirty one or learn to do it yourself! Just be aware that EVERY lube shop is going to look for anything wrong with your car while it is there and Jiffy Lube is no different. Have you ever wondered why it takes 50 minutes to get your car back when they tell you it will take 30 minutes? I can change my oil in 19 minutes and I have none of the nice amenities of a lube shop. Because of Jiffy Lube's $115.95 oil change, all the dishonesty, and incompetence I have experience at all shops in the past, I am going back to changing my oil myself. * read more

Sad to see the negative reviews about our Hopkins Jiffy Lube. I have been using their service for years and really have never had a complaint. They have always been respectful and helpful and importantly to me, they never talk down to me about car issues, as I am not really a "car person". I've had good experience having oil changed here before. But not today; I was told my vehicle has not been their before (It has, I have the receipt, claimed my plate was not in the computer); and that my 2009 Silverado requires synthetic oil with an oil change price of $82 to $102 depending on the brand. BS I went elsewhere, they lost two customers for good, both me and my wifes' car. read more
