Following my service on October 11, my check engine light came on and the car began hesitating at idle. An Audi dealership diagnosed the issue and found the oil cap was left loose after the oil change performed at this location. Because of this mistake, I had to pay $271.97 for another oil change and diagnostic fee, after already paying $100.49 here. I was told I would be reimbursed for the Audi service within 7 business days, yet as of November 7 -- nearly four weeks later -- I still haven't received any refund. After 10 yrs of bringing both of our cars to this location, there was an incident involving an improper installation which resulted in a major oil leak. Fortunately I discovered it before the engine froze and was able to have it fixed at another jiffy lube location. Since shops are independently owned, the other shop provided an invoice for me to share with the Libertyville location for refund. I have spoken with management several times, both in person, and on the phone--with promises of getting back to me. 2 months later: still no response. Horrible customer service. read more

Obviously, if you really had changed my oil two months ago, I wouldn't have had it done again today. You charged me for an oil change you didn't do. Had to get a last minute oil change the first time right before work and the manager got me in and out. during the time of service, he took the time to answer all my questions and actually educate me on the things I didn't know about my own car. Knowledgeable and so kind! Came back for another service again right before work... Clinton remembered me and knew how to fix my issue and even gave me options on how to proceed. Fastest service! I hated this place. I got the usual baloney about the air filters (no thanks). Then they left something on and drained my battery (which was older) and I had to get a new battery. But the real dispute I have is the oily ( no pun intended) way they treated me. They kept me waiting for an hour although I was the first person in the shop, while they figured out how to tell me my car was dead. Terrible. I got a synthetic oil change in January from this Jiffy Lube location. Two days ago, my check oil light came on in my car, which is practically new. It came on at 12,800 miles when the sticker from this Jiffy Lube location said I had until 14,300. So I brought it in to a Goodyear location that is currently open. They told me that the person who did the oil change at this Jiffy Lube location left the screw to close the oil on the car loose, and it was leaking oil. Straight up incompetence. I'll have to get a car wash to wash all the oil off the bottom of my practically new car. And I had to go early to get an oil change, DURING A PANDEMIC, because I am an essential worker, and I need to get to and from work. Really terrible experience at this Jiffy Lube. First it's a filthy place and smells of cigarettes. Then the staff was very unclear in communicating why my oil change cost $100+ after the fact. Took my car in to another shop for 20k check-up and was told Jiffy Lube had not secured the oil filter and my car had little oil left. It's a new car and could have significant engine damage. The past few times I've driven to this Jiffy Lube the doors have been locked tight, with nobody inside during business hours. The first time I waited 45 minutes and just before leaving, an employee came to unlock the doors. This nice man told me they were very understaffed, and the two employees working, had gone to lunch. I was apparently lucky they returned before I took off. Thinking they must have solved this issue by now, I visited Jiffy Lube again this afternoon. This time there was a hand written note on the door, stating they were out to lunch and would return at 2p.m.. I waited until 2:45, and decided to take off when nobody returned to open the shop. There was very loud music coming from inside but I couldn't see anyone. Perhaps it had been left on. After doing some errands I returned to find the same note taped to the door. Apparently nobody ever returned to open the shop. For all intents and purposes this Jiffy Lube appears to be out of business, or very close to it. Calling didn't help because they apparently don't have a voice mail, or answering device. The phone just rang endlessly. read more

I recently got an oil change here because they were open later than any other oil change shop on a Saturday afternoon. This Jiffy Lube offers to top off fluids and vacuum your car in between oil changes. I haven't gone to Jiffy Lube in a long time so I don't know if this is the regular practice of all the chains or not. Service was quick and professional. read more

Had gone here several times and then went to another Libertyville repair shop for some engine work. Found out that when my oil was changed, bolts were over tightened and leaks resulted. Saw the bolts. Nice people at Jiffy Lube but not sure the workers are as skilled as needed. They honor the online discounts but I won't return. read more

This Jiffy Lube (store # 787) was the worse experience I have ever had. I take great pride in keeping the vehicles maintenance current. On Tuesday, I stopped in for an oil change, they took the car in and after 15 minutes, the manager told me the technician could not get the drain plug out. He said it was stripped. They abandon the work. My previous oil change was done by jiffy Lube in Gurnee, after 15 minutes I asked the manager to call the Gurnee location. Reluctantly he did and told Gurnee they messed up the drain plug. Fast forward, I drove to Jiffy Lube (#1599) Gurnee and they easily removed the drain plug and in 10 minutes my oil was changed and I was on my way. Frankly, the Libertyville Jiffy Lube (#787) employees were lazy and didn't want to do the work. Before I left the location all 4 employees were sitting down and chatting with themselves. STAY away from Libertyville Jiffy Lube (#787) Take the time to drive to Jiffy Lube Gurnee on Grand Ave. Manager Joe was fantastic.. understanding and addressed my needs with ease. read more

I change my own oil, but must have my company car serviced by professionals. This place was a great reminder of why I do it myself. I walked in and the gentleman at the counter finished with the woman he was helping. He then walked out and joined the other 3 employees in the bay while they stood around the only car being serviced. I was clearly noticed. Absolutely horrendous service at this Libertyville location. After removing the oil Cap they left it on the radiator and shut the hood, locking the hood in an open position. After prying out the cap with screwdrivers they were able to bang the hood open, leaving oil all over my white hood. Left without an oil change fearing for my car's well being. Had to ask them to wipe the oil they left all over the inside door handle and steering wheel. Way over-priced change for underwhelming and damaging service. read more

There is nothing Jiffy about this Jiffy Lube! In addition to the slow oil change I have had three occurrences of them damaging my car and in all three cases they refused to take ownership for their mistakes and have been rude and unprofessional.
