I had an appointment to have them re-check a wheel alignment that they did two weeks ago. One of the wheels was still out of alignment. Then they were supposed to re-balance all four wheels. They did a very good job in re-balancing the wheels but they obviously have no clue as to the value of a customer's time. I was at the dealership for 3-1/2 hours for this relatively simple procedure. It was obvious to me that they were giving walk-ins a higher priority than appointments. This is completely unacceptable. Everytime I go to this establishment, the wait time is longer than expected. Scheduling must not be a priority for this business. read more

The first task of finding a recommended alignment shop was challenging and then to find one that can work with vehicles with lowering springs was even harder. I called and made an appointment for 11am and brought the vehicle in and explained that even after brand new tires, the vehicle would drive loose and hard to control. After clearly reviewing the documentation, the previous shop that told me they aligned the vehicle when putting on lowering springs did not or did a poor job. Immediately after pulling out of the lot I could feel a difference in the handling and ride comfort. It made it drive like a brand new vehicle again, great value for only $100. read more

Simon and Edwin and Grayslake were super. I got a censor light come on they were able to get me in and change them. Unfortunately for some reason on the Honda Odyssey touring model the reset didn't work. Simon called over to the Park City location, to have them check it out. Mike at the Park City was super helpful and very knowledgeable about tires and how these censors work. He was able to squeeze my van in. Due to it getting closer to winter they were very busy. Mike, not only drove me home since i lived down the street. But he also picked me up. He did not hve to do that. He and simon went out of their way to make sure my van was correctly done. Day3-called no mechanic on duty Day 4- finally finish took home brake lights won't turn off and didn't realize so dead battery morning Day 5- took car back in then took me would be $100 on top to repair . Recently I had the pleasure of using this business for the replacement of 4 tires. Unexpectedly, I got a flat tire that could not be repaired. I called Waukegan Tire and spoke to KJ who couldn't have been nicer or more knowledgeable. He gave me a quote for 4 new tires which was very competitive. They had the tires I needed in stock and he advised me to bring the car over immediately and they could take care of it, even though they were very busy and close to closing time. My son brought over the vehicle and everything was taken care of expeditiously and with care. I was very impressed with their customer service and quality of workmanship. They also provide an excellent warranty and include many follow-up services (rotation, air, alignment check etc.) free of charge. High praise for Waukegan Tire on Rte 120 near Rte 45. Took in my car with a tire that had a slow leak. Got right in early in the morning. They found two nails close together and plugged and patched them. But here's more reasons why I love them: the service people are patient, kind, good listeners and tactful. The waiting area is comfortable and quiet. Free Wi-Fi of course. The women's restroom was sparkling clean, had convenient hooks for hanging jackets or purses. And there was even a note by the changing table that there are free diapers and baby wipes at the service counter if needed! I wish I could just go there to spend the day ha ha. I liked the price, too. I feel so comfortable there on many levels. And I trust them. read more

EVERY TIME these guys come to the rescue! Living next to a ton of contractors, I've experienced nails in my tires on more than one occasion!! I always bring my vehicles to Waukegan tire when there is an issue and they are quick to diagnose it. They'll tell you if it's fixable and they'll patch it up, and will be honest if it needs to be replaced. Do not take your car to this location. They gouged me on repairs. They made suggestions to do work that wasn't necessary knowing that it would cause problems with other parts. A simple valve cover turned into me having to spend almost $1000 to fix other things their (suggestions) messed up. read more

I brought my Nissan Maxima in for a tire plug. Spoke with Les, very helpful, they got me in without an appointment. Very Very clean comfortable waiting area, and shop area... I was pleasantly surprised. Repair took about an hour paid the $22 and My car was brought around. Upon walking to my car which is Super Black and just washed and polished the night before... I notice a big greasy hand print on the drivers door. Moving on to inspect the repaired tire, there is noticeable greasy smudges on my wheels and the valve cap was missing. Very disappointed that this clean ,friendly shop, less than a mile from shop lacks detail. It's the small things like this, that would send me elsewhere. I read more

I brought my car into the Grayslake location today to have four tires mounted. ON the way home I noticed a bunch of grease marks on the passenger seat upholstery and when I looked at the wheels when I got home, I found a bunch of scratches in the painted rims all the way around each of the wheels. Fortunately with rubbing compound i was able to correct most of the damage they did. Very disappointing. I will never use this business again. read more

No stars, please. Don't bring your car here unless you want to get ripped off. I had a tire that had lost air. I filled it up and it seemed fine, but I wanted it checked out before I hit the highway. Three weeks prior I had my car at the dealer for general mainentance, and at that time the serviceman told me my tires looked good. The serviceman at Waukegan Tire showed me that I had a nail puncture, but then also told me that my tire wear indicators showed that I had no tread on both my front tires, not just one. He proceeded to sell me one tire because he had to order the other. He also told me that I probably needed an alignment job. This all sounded fishy to me, but I didn't want to risk a highway blowout. I asked to keep the damaged tire and then brought it to the dealer whom I have trusted for years. The dealer told me I had plenty of tread left on the tire and no alignment problem. The tire wear indicators looked fine. I now know how to check the tire wear indicators and won't fall victim to this type of con again. The serviceman at Waukegan Tire should have recommended and performed a simple tire repair to plug the hole -- that would have taken care of the problem. That was never recommended to me. So, if you want honest service, I suggest you shop somewhere else. read more

I purchased my tires through Goodyear's website, and selected Waukegan Tire in Grayslake as my installer. They had good reviews on their site, unfortunately that was not my experience. I had them install four new tires, and do an alignment. They severely cross-threaded (stripped) two of the studs that hold the tire on my right rear wheel. I couldn't even get the tire off the next day. I am an ex mechanic and I was going to do my own breaks. So I brought it to them a second time and they fixed the studs without even an "I'm sorry". When I was doing my rear brakes later that week I noticed that I had an old weight on my tire from when I purchased the car years ago, and a new weight directly across from that. As an ex mechanic I knew they didn't do a good job balancing that tire, it was a hack job. Even worse I looked at the left rear tire and there are no weights on it. There's no way that the left rear tire is perfectly balanced, and didn't need any weights. They are a tire shop and they stripped my studs to where I couldn't get the wheel off. Thank God I didn't have a flat and was stuck on the side of the road. Then they don't even balance the tires right. They offered for me to take it in a third time to have it fixed properly. I don't trust them or their work. I'm sure my alignment is not done correctly either if they can't do the simplest repairs correctly. I asked for them to reimburse the money so I can have the dealership near me rebalance they tires. They refused, I spoke to Simon the manager who said he talked to the general manager. Please save your money is my message, and go somewhere else. I don't have the time or money to get it done elsewhere, but I will take it to a dealership now. Also the guy Les (service writer) is quite rude, and wears his mask under his nose. read more
