Came in for a routine oil change and had a great experience! The place was full when I arrived and they said I would have to wait 30 minutes, but ended up getting me in within 15. I got to stay in the car, service was super quick and everyone I spoke to was really nice. Best of all, they didn't try to upsell me on anything, which is rare in my experience, and put some air in all of my tires at no additional cost. I even had an expired coupon that they still let me use. It's hard to find trustworthy car maintenance around here, but I felt really good about this place and will definitely be back! read more

Never again! The only thing this place had going for it was the staff was friendly when I drove in (this would typically be worth more than 1 star). I attempted to bring my car here for an oil change one other time, and they stopped me before I pulled in and said they didn't have filters, so I left. This time, they didn't tell me that, but again, still had no filters (and mine desperately needed changing). Mentioned supply chain issues, which I get, but perhaps you should work on who your vendors are, as this is not an excuse for more than a year, and hasn't been an issue when I've brought my car elsewhere, nor when I purchased myself at Auto Zone. I should have questioned this place right away, when the music was pumping. How can they hear each other when the music was loud. There was a worker standing at the garage doors, who opened them when I thought we were done (I had paid) and started to wave me out, but turns out, the guy underneath my car, was still working on my car and they quickly told me not to drive and turn off the car. Uhm, that definitely got my attention. The guy at the garage door then started smoking as he waited for his turn to do his job....which seemed to be to wave me out of the garage. Fast forward 45 minutes later, after driving on the highway, I heard a noise and pulled into a parking lot and the skid plate under my car had not been secured properly, and was now scrapping on the ground, as I pulled into a parking lot. I was desperate to get this fixed because I had an appointment, and I couldn't drive back to the Medford Jiffy Lube. I drove to a nearby Jiffy Lube in Framingham, MA, and the owner, Paul was surprised when he saw this dragging under my car. He told me to pull in, but do to the nature of this hanging, I had to pull back out, which more or less bent the piece beyond repair. They took it off and eventually, I was on my way. They offered to put it in my trunk, but what was the point, it was beyond the ability to put back on my car. I called the original Jiffy Lube, explained the issued and they put me on with a Manager. The Manager put me on hold and spoke with his employee, who said, "oh, there was only 3 screws on there (there apparently should be 8), so not his fault". Ok, if you see an issue when you're working on a car, shouldn't you give the owner a heads up. Because to me, it seems like you messed up, and DIDN'T PUT THE SCREWS ON! I said I wanted compensation, as the skid plate was now ruined, and my car only has 55K miles on it, so they are there for a reason, even if only a minor reason. He said he had to contact the District Manager....and I've heard nothing. They messed up, made excuses, and made no reparations. Stay away from this place. read more

After prepping my car for the service and checking my service history in the computer, the technician came in and told me I didn't need service, my oil was clean and the last Jiffy Lube I went to made a mistake resetting the maintenance light. Told me I have 3,000 more miles before service is needed. Will take my car right back to this Jiffy Lube after I drive 3,000 more miles. read more

I don't even know where to start. But I was having trouble finding someone to handle my transmission fluid. I originally was quoted price is costing almost $300 at other nearby locations. I called Jiffy Lube and they gave me a good price and I came down. However they were out of transmission fluid at the time. Alfredo went above and beyond to help me fix the situation. I will I will spare you the details but his customer service has been unmatched. He was so helpful and personable and made me have happy tears. I typically go to Jiffy Lube in Braintree but recently moved to Somerville. I needed a routine oil change and was told I needed to get a radiator flush. I should have never listened to the mechanic. After charging me $150 for this, I drove up 95 N. My car started smoking and I was stranded on the highway until a tow came. The issue was the RADIATOR cap was left off and the COOLANT cap wasn't screwed on tight enough. My engine may or may not be shot. They are useless and crooks. I do not recommend them! read more

I came to Jiffy Lube for an oil change. Once complete I was told I needed rear differential fluid, which was unexpected and sounded like a $90 up-sell, so I declined, but after my visit I checked the rear differential. I found Jiffy Lube had removed the differential DRAIN plug (not the fill/check plug). I took a photo that clearly shows this, and my dealer later confirmed the fill plug had not been touched, only the drain. The drain plug should never be removed except for draining oil - not for checking, for obvious reasons. I don't know if Jiffy Lube removed my drain plug due to incompetence or an attempt to create additional service. Following my Jiffy Lube visit I went to my dealer (who is trustworthy) to make sure things weren't messed up - and paid for differential service, which would not otherwise have been required. I caution anyone against considering having any service, even as simple as an oil change, at this Jiffy Lube. They can't be trusted. read more

My car battery died (completely my fault). I have a toddler and my husband is out of town, so my days already feel panicked. I called in the morning, they told me they had batteries in stock and to pull right up. I jumped the car, pulled up to the bay, and they had me in and out in 20 minutes with a new battery, fluids and oil checked, and tires checked. This place was completely horrendous. When we pulled up we asked how much an oil change would Be and we were given a price then when we went to pay it was 12 dollars more. After asking why they said that they told us that price when they in fact did not because we would have went somewhere else. I had been putting off getting an oil changed in my high mileage clunker of a car for quite some time. Last minute one night, we decide now is the time. 25 minutes before they close, naturally. They didn't give us any guff and actually were really friendly. The waiting area was small, and this is one reason why there's 3 stars. A man talking on his cell phone decided to blow up the bathroom, which made the entire waiting area smell. Bad. One of the workers also decided to bad mouth his new manager to us, which I'm not a fan of. Keep your drama for your mama. Overall, they weren't pushy. They did what we asked without any extra gimmicks. They even showed us our air filter and how we could tell it was clean and in good shape. Stick to the basics, don't get hassled, and stay clear of the bathroom. read more

Took my car here for an oil change. Shortly after it was leaking a significant amount of oil. It took it back thinking maybe they hadn't put the filter or plug in properly only to be told that my car had a real oil leak and it should be fixed ASAP. Took the car to my mechanic who confirmed (as I suspected) that the oil filter was not on right, causing the leak. Now I am out the cost of the oil change plus some $40 in synthetic oil I've dumped into it to compensate for the leaking, and as a bonus I have a mess of oil under the hood and a nice big black spot in my driveway. I'm not going back here again, that is for sure. read more

I just have to say. I was taking my mother into Mass General the other day and it was pouring out. My new 2016 Toyota Tacoma started alerting that we were losing pressure in the rear passenger tire. I stopped the truck and low and behold there was a puncture in the tire and we were losing air fast. Some jerk wouldn't let us over and we missed the Medford exit and had to limp to the 16 / Revere/ Somerville exit. Now the trucks alarms are going off, we're losing pressure fast so I go back towards Medford center in search of a gas station. Out of sheer desperation, we pull into this Jiffy lube and I ask if they can just put my spare on since like I said its pouring and we are late for moms doctors appointment. I figure they have a lift so that'd be quick and easy. First, the manager ( I didn't get her name) tells me sure they can do it, but they'll have to charge me for a rotation. $24 is fine. I tell her we are wicked late and she gets to work. About 7 minutes goes by..... Not only did they not put on my spare, they plugged the tire on the rim, fixing the leak, and then tried to only charge me 12 bucks for the plug. She was awesome, and so were the other 2 guys. They didn't have to help me, but they did, and that's what customer service is all about. Go here, and be happy. J read more

Fast, efficient, friendly oil change & not too pushy. Of course they offer other services and recommend them to you, that's their job. The girl changing my oil pointed out to me that one of my tires was getting bald (I checked it later, she was right) but didn't try to coerce me into a tire rotation, just suggested I may want to look into it before winter. I'm not going to compare this place to my regular mechanic, that's like comparing Dunkin Donuts to a small coffee shop-- yes I like them both, but for different reasons. The price for an oil change is comparable to other places in the area ($38), but they are actually nice here and they vacuum your car, which I never do myself... so yay! read more

No matter where you go for a quick oil change, Valvoline or Jiffy, they are going to try to up sell you on other services. I usually go back and forth between Valvoline and Jiffy. Valvoline lets you sit in your car. They are usually pretty quick if there is no line. Jiffy makes you wait in the waiting room, but they vacuum your car. I was disappointed this time with Jiffy. I knew prior to going to Jiffy one of my tires was low on air. On the sheet, it said they checked the tire pressure. The tire pressure light was still on so I went to the local gas station and took car of that. My car also reeked of cigarette smoke. Had to keep the windows open for a bit to air out the car. read more

I used to love this one, but after my last experience I am NEVER going back. Last week I got my oil changed and they told me everything was fine except for my air filter. I asked if I could change it in a week or two and they said sure and ASSURED ME THAT NOTHING ELSE WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR. Fast forward to today, (not even a full week later) and I go in to change my air filter. I SPECIFICALLY said that I wanted ONLY THE AIR FILTER CHANGED. I knew the price would only add up to about $25 at most as that was what they told me last time. When they called me up to pay, my total was $80. $80!!!!! They told me they decided to "fix the cabin" and "forgot" to clear it with me. Literally I'm never going back and I suggest no one else does either. Horrible customer relations. read more

$38 is way too much for an oil change. They don't even include in an air filter. I know places that changes $20-$25 for the same service. Not only is it over priced, it took them 45minutes to change the oil with one car that came in 20 minutes ahead of me. It's not like they are standing around, so you can't get mad but they are way too slow doing everything. They check this and that, look around but doesn't actually do the oil change. You pay a little bit more, and wait a little bit longer for the convenience of a good oil change on an evening or weekend. And I go into any instant oil change place prepared for the big upsells. As a rule, I prefer a good local repair station, but for that, the downside is you have to leave your car there all day, and frankly, they often don't look for simple upsells that I was glad to be offered (after 5 years of service station repairs, nobody had ever looked at my car's cabin filter...it was ready to be changed). Also, before going, try to ask yourself (or check your records) when maintenance items (fluids and filters) where last changed. Almost no matter how new, they're going to look old/cruddy when any instant oil change shows them to you. Be prepared to say "yes" or "no". I found the Medford Jiffy lube to do be friendly, matter-of-fact, and therefore not intimidating the upgrades they offer. The special expensive oil they offer to swell the seals in high mileage cars *did* work for my slow oil leak in my old car. Hooray! read more

This is my first Yelp review and the service I received was so poor it warrants this 1 star. I went to jiffy lube 3 months ago to get my oil changed. After a few days from the oil change, my oil light came on and the car shut off while I was in the middle of the road so I pulled over. I checked the dip stick in my car and there was no oil on it. I called AAA since I needed to get my car towed to the nearest gas station. As I was waiting for AAA to come, I realized that all of the oil from my car had poured out onto the the street. My car was towed to the nearest gas station that was open and the gas station took a look at my car. They let me know that the reason that the oil had poured out of my car was because the person that you had just done my oil change did not screw the cap back on tight enough. Also, if I had driven the car anymore the engine would have seized. When I told Jiffy Lube about the incident the next day (they were closed on Sunday, which was the day my car broke down) they told me that I should have brought the car back to them to assess the car and that sometimes these things happen due to "human error." Overall, I just wanted to get a refund from my initial oil change, I didn't even ask about getting refunded for the tow. It took over 10 phone calls and three months to receive a $35 refund from this oil change. The customer service was poor and the service was careless. read more

Not going back. I'm not a fan of cheap tricks to try and squeeze more money out of me. They're just not honest, and will always make you believe there is more wrong with your car than there is. I've worked on cars enough to know when there is a real problem. They exaggerate to the point of absurdity, they would have you believe your car is about to fall apart. I know a lot of places do this, but they go the extra step and actually take your filters out of your car to show them to you (BEFORE you even ask them to do anything!). I'm sure there is a loophole that makes this barely legal, because I never gave my consent for them to do this any time I went. They then proceed to ask you about every detail of service you would ever need, and do their best to convince you that you're horribly behind schedule. I'd even let this go, but one time when they replaced my filters they did so incorrectly.. the cabin air fans started grumbling when I turned on the air, and I had to buy a new filter because they put a hole in mine and clogged the fans. I always try to experience a business at least a few times before placing a review, and this place was consistent in the way they treated me and my car. They get 2 stars instead of 1 because at the end of the day, they always changed my oil like I asked. But all I want is an oil change, I don't want to deal with being pumped for cash and then being given attitude when I politely refuse. Overall, it's not worth it to go here. read more

Everyone who works there is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They get you in and out, and don't try to force too many things on you that you don't want. They also said coupons that take $11 off an oil change! They also offer a free top-off service if your oil gets low within 3 months of you oil change! I had been going to this Jiffy Lube for oil changes for a few years and was always happy with the service, they would explain what was recommended but never pushed to do more that I ask for. When I stopped for my regular oil change last night, I ask them to take a look at my brakes because I knew there was a problem thanks to the HORRIBLE noise. They pulled the tires and it only took one glance to see the problem, but I appreciated that they called me out to show me and then did not push to have all four replaced even though it was obvious. They could not get the parts last night, so they ordered them & I returned this evening. It turned out to be an extremely difficult job thanks to rust build up - car is three years old no no positive reviews for Ford - and those guys busted their behinds getting the old ones off. What should have been a hour or so job took three, and they took the time to get it right, did the after test drive even though it was 9 p.m and they were supposed to go home at 7 p.m. I felt terrible that I kept them there so late, but the guys working on the car and the manager could not have been nicer. It's great to have somewhere to go for service on my car that does not demand that I drop it off and leave it for the day, or longer. Granted, it's probably not the cheapest place to get something like brake work done but in my mind it balances out since I don't have the added expense of cabs and rental cars when getting the service. read more

Ok I could see even $35-40...but $60. This is crazy and reading some of the other reviews that fits right in with what I am reading. It prob would have been more if I had actually had the work done. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I asked them to finish changing a headlight (I had already replaced the other one but was having trouble finishing the last part of the connection). The mechanic took about an hour (my neighbor and I were more efficient with our makeshift tools in my driveway). Then the other ($100 HID) light went out. They still charged me for his slow unskilled work and blamed the lightbulb going out on the fact that I brought my own. So now I am in a worse place than I started on. After reading these reviews, I am scared to see what else they could have messed up. I wish I had yelped this place before going. read more

If you choose to do business at this Jiffy Lube, you might as well pull your pants down and bend over, because you're going to get fucked. I'd been in here before for oil changes, and hadn't had a problem with them. Until my radiator light was flickering (ie the liquid was sitting just above the sensor, so depending on whether my car was going downhill or uphill, it was on/off). Although I can do all of this myself, I was in a hurry - and figured they could tell which hose was loose (I took a quick look, but couldn't see anything). When I pulled up, I knew there would be trouble. The girl who greeted me asked me if I wanted an oil change. I didn't, but hadn't changed my oil in a while, so if they could please check if it is dirty. When I explained my problem, she said, "So you want radiator fluid?" me - "I'm not sure. Please check hoses, and look for a leak." Girl - "Okay, radiator. PLease wait inside." Wait inside. Girl comes back in. "Your coolant is empty and you need an oil change." Me - "That's not possible. My engine is not running hot, and there was liquid in it when I checked. Also, is my oil dirty?" Girl - "I don't know." Me - "Can you check before I ask you to change my oil?" Girl walks into shop and comes back "They say it's completely black, and half empty. and you need radiator fluid." Me - "Again, that's not possible. My radiator would be cracked if it was empty, and my car is not running hot. Did they even check for a leak? Also, my car does not burn that much oil and is not leaking it cannot possibly be half empty." Girl - "Your coolant is empty. Would you like the fluid?" Me - "Look, I used to work in an engine shop, and it simply is not possible that I have no coolant. Can you please just tell me what is wrong?" Guy behind girl - "Your engine burns off fluid over time, and your coolant is empty. You need fluid." Walks away. While I'm waiting, they tell TWO other customers that their coolant is empty and oil half empty. At this point it was painfully clear to me that no one was listening and they were going to screw me over no matter what. I agree to let them fill fluid and will go to a for-real mechanic that week. When the bill comes back I am charged for a radiator flush ($90), and oil disposal for 4.5 quarts. (I have a 5 quart reservoir, again proving, it was NOT half empty.) I didn't even look at the receipt and paid without seeing how much they screwed me. About an hour later I realized I was charged too much and called the store. They accused me of asking for a radiator flush. Why would a person who's coolant reservoir is empty need a flush? If it was empty they should have charged me for coolant. And if full, then a flush. They tell me that only the manager can take care of it, and she is not in until tomorrow. Next day - more fighting. No one is seeing how a person who 'allegedly' has no coolant doesn't need a fluid flush. I'm seething. Finally after about 30 minutes of defending her staff the manager, Gina, sees my point. She will refund the money, but needs to figure out how. Will call me back. Gina calls back the next day. Would I like free oil changes? I think 'gofuckyourself', but say no way. Jiffy Lube will send me a check. Gina calls back the next week, am I okay with a money order instead that I can pick up in the store? Fine. (probably so her superiors don't find out about it. Its on Yelp now, so the Jig's up.) I get a check for 80. $10 short. I go back in for the extra $10. Gina gives it to me in cash. Very apologetic. Overall? I got my money back - although I didn't get any tax back, or any sort of acknowledgment that the staff is using unfair and deceptive practices. However, it should have been taken care of the day of, and the staff should have listened instead of screwing me out of $90+. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

I've been waiting for a venue like this to vent about my horrible experience at this place! It happened a couple years ago, but still bothers me enough to not let it go. I went in for a simple oil change. I expected they'd try and talk me into a slew of other services - whether I actually needed them or not. I did agree to a transmission fluid exchange (where they drain the fluid and replace it w/ new fluid) because that sounded like an actual beneficial (and simple) service. While they were doing it, I could hear them cursing about something and banging around. (All the employees were pretty much swearing and acting unprofessional in general). I asked if everything was OK with my car and they said "Yes". They explained that something in the way my car was configured caused them to have trouble (it's a Dodge Neon - nothing strange or unusual!) but they finished up and said I was good to go. As I drove out of the station and onto the busy road, I could tell something wasn't right. My car started sputtering and then dying - while I was wedged between a huge truck and other cars. I was terrified but managed to pull over to the side of the road. I called Jiffy Lube and they sent someone (who looked very young & frustrated) out to help me & see what went wrong. Apparently, they forgot to re-connect an important hose. I sat by the side of the road in the rain for almost an hour while they fiddled with my car. I do appreciate the fact that they sent someone out quickly to help me, but the problem should have never happened in the first place if they had paid attention and been competent. Not to be dramatic, but they basically put my life in danger. Ultimately, they damaged my car and I had to have it fixed by another mechanic at my own expense and inconvenience. I confronted Jiffy Lube with my anger over the situation. They did reimburse me for the "service" they performed there but not for all the additional work I needed done because of their faulty workmanship. (I also had to rent a car). I ended up contacting the corporate headquarters with my complaint and they were incredibly rude. They somehow blamed me for having to go to another mechanic and claimed they were not at fault. They outright refused to even consider reimbursing me for any costs that I incurred because of them. I have been warned about these "quick oil change" places and should've listened. This Jiffy Lube was incompetent, rude and did more damage to my car than good. If they cannot even get a simple, routine task done right, I worry about the more complicated services they offer. The idea of a quick service station is appealing, but the result is lack of attention and detail toward your vehicle - especially at this particular Jiffy Lube. read more

Took my gf's truck here on Sat. It was quite busy so I told the guy that I just wanted to leave it and come back. While people normally have to stay until the car is actually inside the garage, he let me hit the road and come back in a few hours. The place was pretty empty when I returned, so I had him do my car as well. It went pretty quickly, but the have a nice LCD TV on the wall the Bruins game on. That passed the time quickly. The guy did not try to push additional services on to me. You also get free fluid services (washer, oil, etc) between services if you go back. Nice touch. read more
