So I have been a religious visitor of the Valvoline on the Parkway in Everett, until my last few experiences almost caused me to leave Valvoline all together... then they sent me some coupons so I headed out. The coupons I have specifically state that I can use them together, yet I get there and they tell me they cant figure out how... IT SAYS IT RIGHT ON THE FRONT IN BOLD LETTERS, MAY USE TOGETHER... yet they couldnt... So again my gripe with Valvoline over the bullshit... So I plan to use my other coupon I have and then be done & find somewhere else to go... I just cant deal with all the inadequacies... I can't find words to describe how incredibly angry and disappointed I am about the service on my car at Valvoline. My boyfriend decided to bring my car in for an oil change at this shop today. This was the first (and last) time either of us had used this shop. He got synthetic oil and a tire rotation. First of all, he was charged $150 for this. A Toyota dealership charges $120 for the same oil change on a Corolla, so they've even beat the notoriously high dealership prices. Fantastic. Second, the technicians apparently had a hard time taking the tires off of the car. This was blamed on a lack of tire rotation in the past. The tires were replaced on 4/21/2021 and rotated on 11/5/2021. This was under 10,000 miles ago, so none of this makes sense. Next, they apparently saw my name on the registration, and the FEMALE technician said, "oh, it's his GIRLFRIEND'S car. No wonder; I bet she never takes these off." This is after they were apparently yelling at each other for potentially damaging the rims on my car for quite some time. So, the services here are overpriced, and the employees are incompetent and sexist. This isn't the 1950s. My maintenance scheduling capabilities aren't based on what is in my pants. I would quite literally have rather paid a monkey for these services, and I would have expected better customer service. If you're a woman bringing a car in for service, I'd go anywhere else. We deal with enough sexism regularly without paying exorbitant prices to hear it. While my boyfriend is apparently more competent because of his genitals, I'll pick the mechanic shop next time. read more

The bad part is that they will give you an oil change even if you don't need one. The reminder sticker they give you is for 3,000 miles even if you bought synthetic oil, which lasts 7,500 to 10,000 miles for the type of car I have. I mentioned my check engine light did not come on but decided to come in because I had passed the mileage on the sticker, and they said that that's because no one reset my light the last time "wherever I went to get the oil change done." But the last time I went to get my oil change done, it was at this exact place! So what they were saying was that they had forgotten to reset the light the last time they changed my oil a few days ago. But even that story makes no sense because when you forget to reset the check engine light, your light is *on* for a lot longer, not off. I feel cheated because I didn't need this oil change but paid nearly $100 for it. read more

Sometimes they'll check your tire pressure sometimes they won't, sometimes they'll put your new wipers on properly most times they won't. Id just expect an oil change here they'll try to sneak out of any of the extras you pay for if your not paying attention. read more

lets start off from when I first pulled into the bay the workers were standing around doing absolutely nothing . yet I seemed to be disrupting them . when an employee did offer to do my oil change he needed assistance from the manager who he called out to . I am currently sitting at the Subaru dealer waiting for these certified technicians to fix what the uncertified Valvoline workers messed up. These guys stripped the shit out of my drain plug on my oil pan and charged me over $100 for the oil change. The dealership is fixing the issue and charging me waaaay less. My AC stopped working and I saw that they were still open (until 7PM on weekdays), so I stopped in. A car was just rolling out, so I asked if they could give the AC a quick check. The guys there were friendly and knowledgeable. While checking the AC the manager explained what he was doing, since I chose to stay near my car out of curiosity. He found the problem within 20 minutes. The manager, Lyrice?, seems like an honest guy. I wasn't able to get my car fixed here, as it was a mechanical issue, but I left knowing a bit more about my car. Would come again, thanks!! read more

I am a long time customer to Valvoline. Quick place to get my vehicle serviced. On my visit today, Brandon waited on me. He started by telling me that I would have to pay for my last transaction before he would wait on me. I was confused and he showed me the screen on his computer. There was a plumbing company on it and they owed approx $65. I told him who I was and that I was in the system. I'd been there 3 months ago. Couldn't find me. It went downhill from there. I chose my oil and he was finished. I asked him if he was going to offer any services. I usually get my air filter changed etc. His answer was, I don't have any coupons for you. Coupons? Brandon needs retraining and I probably won't be back. I need to trust that my vehicle is serviced right. read more

The staff was friendly and the service was quick and you don't have to get out of your vehicle. I have been here twice and haven't had to wait. Reasonable price and I always use their coupons. They did the usual; change the oil and the oil filter, check the pressure on the tires, check the air filters (at least the one in the engine compartment, forgot the one in the cabin behind the glove compartment), check for broken lights, etc. read more

So my partner took his car to this valvoline to do a simple oil change. They convinced him that he should probably do a radiator flush as well and wanting to be good to his car he said yes. Then all of a sudden the next day his car thermostat, which happens to be brand new, sky rockets to hot and begins blinking. He notices radiator fluid leaking from his car. He brings his car back and they tell him that this kinda thing sometimes happens with older cars and he should go buy some radiator fluid asap and bring his car to a mechanic. I have only been here once but I had a great experience, and I will be coming back. I got here around 8:15 on a Saturday morning, and expected a huge line - but I got right in. The staff was really pleasant. They changed my oil and checked my tires; I was finished within 10 minutes. It cost slightly more than my last oil change, but I didn't need an appointment, I didn't have to take time off of work, and I didn't even get out of my car. I'm happy to pay a few extra bucks for that level of convenience. read more

I had to be moved around twice to a point that they were making me go after cars that came 20 minutes after me. It's such a rip off. A simple oil change costs 65 bucks. It's not worth it. A lot of stores offer coupons for an oil change for a much lower price. He always provides recommendations, educates me of different options, and goes above expectations. I came in once because I got a coupon, but now won't go anywhere else. I just wrote this in an email to Valvoline. I plan on contacting the BBB after this. To add insult to injury I think they just had the guy that screwed everything up call and say come back in. No call back from regional manager or reply to the email. I had a synthetic oil change performed on Thur 9/6/17 in Malden Ma. The technician asked if they can see if the lights work. They informed me the two break lights on the passenger side were out. They offered to replace them, and I said yes. I overheard one of the technicians tell them it was the wrong side that he was replacing (he was replacing the driver side tail lights not the passenger side). He then informed me that he lost the break light socket. He then tried to retrieve it as it had fallen within the panel. He took apart of the back on the car and tried to use a coat hanger and was unable to retrieve it. He was unsuccessful. In the meantime I heard him complaining about his back pain and how 'stupid' of a design this was. The vehicle is a 2004 Toyota Highlander a very very common vehicle. The technician informed me he could not retrieve the part. He said he would compensate the oil change. In trying to compensate the oil change he could not figure out the codes. I asked him to call his manager and he informed me they were not available. He then called the Valvoline hotline and got the correct code. At this point I had to pick up my children and did not have time to debate. He informed me he could order the part or I could pick it up and bring it back and have them replace it. I asked him if there were break lights and his response was that 4 of the 5 were working. After picking up my children I looked at the break lights and found only 3 of the 5 working. I also investigated where he took vehicle apart and noticed screws missing and it disheveled. In seeing this, I called the Valvoline hotline. My concern was safety and driving my car with my children in the vehicle. My other concern was being pulled over for a moving vehicle violation, getting a ticket, a surcharge-able offence and an insurance increase. The Valvoline hotline informed me they would have a manager call me the next morning (Thursday). I received a call from I believe a Danny (that maybe incorrect) at 781-324-1694. He informed me he would try to locate the part and put it back in. He mentioned he would bring it up on his daily call as well. He informed me he would call me back that day. I did not get a call back that day. I got a call back today (Friday). At this point he informed me he could not find the part number. He said he called 3 different dealers. I asked him if we referred to the VIN number, as well as, the vehicle model and age and he said he did. They indicated that there are a few different versions of the part. He wanted to look at the vehicle to order the correct part number and once it came in he would put it in for me. I received this phone call as I was driving. I arrived at work and proactively called two local Toyota dealerships. I spoke to Crystal at IRA Toyota in Danvers and Chris at Woburn Toyota in Woburn Ma. They both were able to pull up the part number in under a minute 90075-6033 and the price in Woburn in stock was $9.95!!!. I called back the Valvoline hotline and informed them of what was happening. I said I did not want to deal with this and wanted them to send me a check and I would bring it to a Toyota dealership to look at the break-lights and the disheveled car. I don't know if they did anymore damage. The representative said I would have to get a quote and then bring it back to them for approval. Again more time, effort, aggravation on my part. They said they would have the Regional Manager call me back (which at the time of this email has not happened appr 2 hours later). I should not have to be wasting this amount of time on this! I should not have to worry about being pulled over! I should not have to worry about how safe my vehicle is with my children is in it! I should not have to worry if the technicians at Valvoline are going to correctly install a break socket! I should not have to question if the employees at Valvoline are being honest with me! I have been lied to twice - once when the original technician said only one light was out - once when the manager said he could not locate the correct part. I attached photos and the original receipt, missing screws where the tech took the car apart, and the missing socket. read more
