Instead of honoring that request, she was upsold by Tim R and Eric R to a "platinum" full synthetic oil change without a clear explanation or informed consent. She ended up paying almost double what a standard oil change should cost. For a young customer who clearly asked for the basic service, this feels misleading and predatory. There was no reason given why the premium option was necessary, and she was not told the price difference upfront in a way that allowed her to make an informed decision. True story. Back in November of '21, my check-engine-oil-soon light came on. I went to make an appointment with my dealership but they couldn't see me until sometime in December. Knowing I couldn't go that long without the change, I drove in to this particular spot because, well, because it was there. The attendant who serviced my car (whose name I forget but he was bald, young and muscular) was incredibly professional. He didn't push any unwanted goods or services on me, patiently explained why they use the oil they do and why I should continue to do so. And that was the end of it. Or so I thought. Here we are in April and the same thing happens. Light comes on, can't get into Ford for three weeks. Go to Jiffy Lube. And guess what? I received the exact same outstanding level of customer service I received the last time. Like Discount Tires, it seems you get quality service and work each every time.
