How to say it...Old School customer service! I scheduled a Saturday appointment at this location over Santee to see if it would offer a better experience. I walked in early to see a full waiting area. Eddie and I walked to the car and talked business for a quick minute and it gave me an assurance my car was in the right hands. Toyota wanted over twice the price to do a brake fluid flush. Eddie's team got my car back into service on time and out in a very reasonable amount of time. When it was said and done, Eddie looked me in the eye, extended a hand and thanked me. Not "Thanks, boss" but, rather, a genuine appreciation for my business; something you just don't see much of any longer and sorely missed. Eddie is top-notch! I cannot in good conscience recommend this Firestone location to anyone. A few months ago, my girlfriend brought her car here for regular maintenance which included replacing the brake fluid. A month after picking her car up, she received a maintenance light on her car alerting her she was low on brake fluid. Her reservoir was completely empty. She refilled the reservoir, and we monitored the fluid levels. There was a persistent leak and the reservoir needed to be constantly checked and refilled. She dropped her car off this morning for them to identify the fluid leak. To their credit, Firestone did this free of charge since they admitted they worked on her brakes. They discovered the brake bleed valves were not properly tightened after they bled the brakes. To anyone not familiar with cars, this would be like not tightening your oil drain plug after an oil change and self-inducing an oil leak. They called and told her the car was ready to be picked up, but the brake fluid reservoir cap was missing when it was brought in this morning. Is it possible she didn't replace the cap after checking fluid levels? Yes. They were going to return a car to her missing the reservoir cap which is a great way to contaminate the brake fluid and cause even more issues. Within 2 seconds of opening the hood, I found the reservoir cap sitting in the plastic molding of the engine bay. If they had pretended to look for it, they would have found the cap. If you want to overpay for subpar work and possibly lose your brakes doing 75 mph on the freeway, then by all means take your vehicle here. read more

If you like horrible customer service, unprofessional management, and completely inflated prices, then this is the place for you! I have never heard of a company charging a diagnostic fee and then not rolling it into the total cost of the work being done. I've worked in the auto insurance industry for 21 years and this is not standard practice. When attempting to bring this up to the manager, he became extremely rude and defensive. I always have a good experience when taking my car to this Firestone. Not only did they identify the problems with my suspension after a body shop missed the problem, but the guys invited me under my car on their lift to point out exactly which part was bent and which nut was missing so I could see it for myself. They also showed me that my coolant was leaking. They fixed all of the problems in a timely manner for a very fair price. I go here most of the time and I never come in as a walk in. One time I needed to do a routine oil change and it seemed like they were short staff. My usual guy greeted me and remembered me. I definitely like him because he was always down to earth with me, and made sure I understood everything. Although this specific day was a little tougher. Long story short I usually go on my days off so I make a reservation, come in a little early just Incase, understand it will be a hour or so... walk around the plaza, to Walmart shop etc. come back after a hour sweating from the walk carrying a million things, but still nothing. So I sit down & wait, go on my phone...(only 2 chairs available to sit) then 2hrs and 30mins run by and I see my keys sitting and waiting to be just charged out. A few people come in, they waited for a bit, no help. I let them know to maybe try to wave them down from outside in the garage and that helped a bit and just Hearing the phone ringing off the hook. Overall, the front staff guy was my positive review because he was nice to me and made everything go smooth. There maybe a long wait and would recommend to go home and wait for their call. My son in laws car was towed to their location to be diagnosed for a start but wont rev condition. There was a engine code of P2118 which leads it to the throttle actuator control motor. THEY TRIED TO SELL HIM $1400.00 work on items that didnt even relate. I told the to check the ETCS 10 amp fuse instead. They told him that they did. I ended up driving an hour to the location. I tested the fuse and it was bad. I used the spare fuse and Walla, it was fixed. I confronted the manager and he said if I don't like it make a complaint! He was very non caring and a smart ass. At least we only paid the $104 for diagnostics instead of the $1400 they wanted that wouldn't have fixed it anyways! A $1.25 fuse would have cost us $1400.00 Stay away from this place!! they will rip you off! read more

First of all, I shouldn't have to call your store from the check in counter just to get somebody up there. Second, I made an appointment for an oil change, tire rotation, and alignment and specifically said the car was pulling right. Was told service would take about 1.5 hours. So I leave, come back and get my car. I notice the car is still pulling right. This prompted me to check my tires to see if they were even rotated (I had mud on my back right wheel) and to my surprise I see that muddy wheel still in the same spot. So, I am not only having to bring my car BACK in during a weekend to get these services done that I paid for, but I am also told it'll be now a 2+ hour wait time even with an appointment. Absolutely ridiculous, after they fix this mistake I won't be back here and I suggest you don't come here either. If you do, check that everything was done before you drive off. read more

Predatory business, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Our car was having issues on the freeway so we pulled off and took to the shop because it was close. They charge a diagnostic fee rather than an inspection fee so they won't have to roll it into the work being done so be prepared for a $110 charge right off the bat whether you proceed with work or not. They then charge us an ungodly amount for work that would be half the cost elsewhere for some filters and spark plugs. Upon a 2nd inspection it was determined the items they recommended we change, did not need to be replaced at all. The manager was beyond condescending and rude, and basically proceeded to lie to our faces with an attitude. Even if you break down right in front of of this place, it will cost you probably half the cost to tow your car to another shop, AVOID THIS PLACE at all cost unless you like wasting money, being lied to, and horrible customer service. Even though it was the day after Christmas and a Sunday, these guys fit me in and helped me get a new tire at a good cost. BEWARE! I used to take my car here to get oil changes and every time they would tell me something else needs fixing. The one time they told me my shocks were leaking, I decided to get price quotes and shop around. Another auto shop told me it was odd that I would need to get it fixed/replaced for the year and mileage of my car. They did a free inspection, physically showed under my car that there was no leak, and told me places like this give mechanics a bad rep. Get a second opinion before you get anything "fixed" here. read more

I stopped by yesterday shortly after noon because I was at the carwash adjacent to Firestone and I needed my tires rotated. I was told it would be a 1-1.5 hours but could get my tires rotated first thing in the morning without a wait. I made an appointment for 9:00 a.m. I arrived at 8:56 a.m. At 9:30 a.m. I informed Giovani that I had a 10:00 a.m. meeting and HAD to leave no later than 9:45 a.m. I was told "you'll be out in plenty of time!" Needless to say, my car wasn't ready until 9:56 a.m. On top of that, there's a current special for tire rotation, brake inspection, belt inspection and topping off fluids for $9.99. One would "think" the special would be suggested to me. Not so much! Instead, I paid $21.48 for just the tire rotation. I asked Giovane about this when he rung me up. His only response was that it was normally $21.98 (or in that price point.) I don't actually remember the exact cost since I was late for my meeting and needed to get out of there. Even more ludicrous is the "Recommended Services" that was attached to my receipt. I'm attaching their recommendations and a copy of the invoice for the exact services I had performed 5,000 miles ago. Not only are their prices substantially more than what I paid, I don't need my cabin & engine air filters replaced! I will NOT be returning to Firestone and suggest anyone reading this review avoid them too. What's the sense in making an appointment only to wait 45 minutes AFTER the appointment time!?! read more

This experience was a bit ridiculous. It took a little short of 3 hours for an oil change and an inspection that I had an appointment for. After the inspection it was suggested that $1500 of work was needed. I take it in for regular service, and opinions differ about work needed, so I can accept that maybe they were airing on the side of caution with these recommendations, but I won't be back to this establishment and I'm leaving a review so maybe others realize that this is how things are done here. read more

I called this place in a panic because it was right by my house and asked if they could look at my car. When I drove on the freeway I could feel a part underneath the car hitting the pavement. When I brought it by they were able to fix it for me until I could have my dealer take a closer look and even checked my oil levels. I was so grateful and impressed. They didn't even charge me for it which blew me away. Even thought it was a small fix it was time out of their day spent with me. Very friendly staff. I had to get new tires put on and alignment done here recently and they were very quick and nice to work with. I ordered tires online but I got the wrong ones so when I went in they let me know what ones I needed to order instead and they called Tire Rack for me so I could get them returned and buy new ones. When I came back in a lot of the same staff was working and they were very nice. They had a tv on in the waiting room to watch while I waited. i took my car to the FireStone in Chula Vista because my check engine light was on In April2020. They replaced my front catalytic convert. The check engine light came on again within days. I took my car to the Firestone in Kearny Mesa to have it looked at. They replaced more parts and each time my check engine light would come on again within days. I was told I would have to take my car to the dealership to have the light reset. The dealer wanted to replace all the parts that Firestone had replaced because they were not original Nissan parts. I've been driving it with the check engine light on for the past year and a half because I didn't want to spend the money to replace all the parts Firestone had replaced again. I have to have my car smogged this year for my registration. It didn't pass smog because the check engine light code is for the catalytic converter. I took my car to another mechanic and was told the front catalytic converter is bad. instead of backing up the warranty on the catalytic converter Firestone installed they blew me off by telling me there was nothing more they could do for me. if Firestone had replaced the part while it was still under warranty like they should have, I wouldn't have to pay another mechanic to fix the work Firestone should have done a year ago. I will never return to Firestone again and would never recommend them to anyone unless they want to be ripped off. read more

Not surprise after everytime i come to this place always have this young people with no knowledge at all, the guy without measuring my tire to check the wearing on it he stated it looks very old and i need a new tire when i purchased the tire about a year ago. Plus they dont do tire rotations or fix flat tires for free since the day got bought out from firestone. Customer service still horrible. Im sure all it was just a name change. LACK OF TIME MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. It took 2 hours to change the oil (They told me it would take 45 min) they are relentless when trying to up-sell you products. They are not timely with the service and if they give you a time line to get something fixed just add 45 min- 1 hour at least to that time. The customer service is sub par. Instead of handling the customer's frustration and complaint with professionalism it is instead met with deflection and excuses. For a better overall experience I would probably go anywhere else. read more
