This location happens to have the lowest stars of all the Jiffy Lubes in my area. I can definitely see why and will not be returning. I've given them several chances and they have on multiple occasions given some sort of issue. - They have broken my oil plug and when I went to another location Jiffy Lufor my next oil change they said they it had to be replaced but I had to pay for it because it was an issue at another location and could not be verified - They replaced my air cabin filter but somehow put it in all scrunched up and it was making weird noises an was not filtering correctly - Came in during the Black Friday deal for an oil change, they confirmed the $25 with the coupon but then only give $15 off. Stopped back in to resolve it and was told a manager wasn't in and was told to call him. Finally got a hold of the manager weeks later and was given a rude comment "yeah not a big deal, it's $10 if you want to come in for $10 that's fine". It's not about the price, it's about the principle. Be apologetic about the your mistakes and don't try to belittle the customer. Realistically it's not about the $10 but we wouldn't have came in during the sale if we weren't going to get the sale price. It's annoying to have to go BACK in to resolve an issue the caused. When we came for the refund they did give it and didn't cause much more of an issue but this is going to be the last time we visit this location. read more

Oil change was fine, but the service person came out to show me a filthy air filter, claiming it was mine, in order to convince me to replace it. I declined and checked my filter when I got home; it was fine. He must keep that filthy one around for effect. Not cool. read more

I went here a couple of times, they forgot to put my valve caps back on after checking tire pressure, and the worst park is I had to go to another place to they my tires rotated because they couldn't do it so I also decided to get a oil change, as soon as they put the truck on the lift they showed me that jiffy had stripped one of the bolts to where it had to be drilled out. Never again this place is no good and obviously do not take responsibility for their mess ips. read more

Dirtbags. Friendly dirtbags but dirtbags all the same. They've retired their "dirty air filter" spiel for this gem: "Your oil is pretty dark so we recommend an engine flush." -_- It's. Oil. What color is it supposed to be?!?!? FOH. I was quoted $100 for oil, rotation, engine flush, antifreeze topoff and some other "necessary services." Walked out paying $28 with a coupon. Only go if you're prepared to stand your ground and call them on the BS. read more

I like to visit this place now for oil change. It's fast service and the warmth welcome from the crew here is phenomenal The manager, Jeff, is outstanding with the customer. He is always nice, respectful and kind. Jiffy lube will be great under his leadership. The service to the car is also awesome. They check everything from tires to air filter. Went there on a busy Sunday morning as we needed a brake light replaced and air in my tires. They had serviced the car about 2 months ago, so we had patronized this location before actually twice in the last 2 months as I had them replace my headlights about one month ago. When I got there they told me it was 45 minutes and I told them I just need air and a tail light. They told me my tires have nitrogen and I said it's fine to put top them off with air. They refused to top of the tires with air. When they told me the car was done they had changed the oil and wanted to charge me for the oil change. I told them i only asked for the tail light and air. After a few minutes they agreed to waive the fees on the oil change but just add the air to the tires. You are adding 2-3 pounds of air to a tire with 30-34 pounds. I will go to another Jiffy lube next time. read more

I've been here numerous times for oil chage. I've never had any problems like other re iwers discriped. I guess I'm lucky so far. But every time i were there, they try to sell me something else. Air filter shit, your trasmission oil is dirty, all other shit that they bring it up that makes me so Freaking uncomfortable. I just want oil change. That all. In and out fast. Don't try to sell other shits. Just mark it up on suggestion sheet or something and hand it over to customer end of the service. read more

DISHONEST. I'm a young professional who took my car for oil change. Brake lights worked fine before I took my car here. After finishing the oil change, they told me that my brake lights needed to be replaced. I declined the service and ended up driving to PepBoys because their prices were much more affordable. PepBoys mechanic informed me that my bulbs were fine and only needed to be tightened. They tightened it for me for free and my brake lights have now been working fine for weeks. read more

Jiffy Lube in Somerset. Is always trying to scam you for more money. I currently have a case open with Jiffy Lube corporate. Went in for an oil change with a coupon. I really did not want to go to Jiffy Lube knowing that they sometimes try to scam you but they're open on Saturdays so it's convenient, because I work of course. Guy is telling me that in addition to my oil change I also need to change the rear differential oil because my car is now past 15000 miles he said it's in the manual and I really should do it. Didn't have the manual with me so I said OK but it's an $80 service. So of course at home I have the manual and look it up and that is only for special operating conditions when you were towing a heavy load or using a heavy car Carrier. Have never towed any heavy load with my car. Called corporate and currently have a case open ......they are going to contact the franchise owner. My husband tried to resolve it over the phone with the manager of the Somerset store but he said it was totally optional and I didn't have to do it. So that's why I escalated it to corporate. I went there for the first time. I called on the phone, a very courteous young lady I spoke with. When I got there they were very polite and attentive. I was in the waiting room for no longer than 15 minutes. They helped me out with other things that didn't needed to be done to my car such as vacuuming it and cleaning the windows. I mean above and beyond is what I'm saying. The manager Robert is a peach. I'm very happy with their customer service. The job was done well, quickly, and for a fair price. Went to this jiffy lube. In my 1st 10 ten minutes no person acknowledged my presence. I then left . Went to the other jiffy lube in north brunswick and they not only acknowledged my presence but got me out in 10 min with 4 people waiting. read more

New management real worse experience. I was there for an oil change and end up with a misbehaving young manager talking like I never seen in my life. I hated his way of talking with an attitude. I told him to stop the work and I don't want to deal with you. He then got to the lowest level and started cursing and asked me to get out of his garage and never come here again. Honestly the worst service that I've ever encountered at a business. This place makes me want to learn how to change my oil and never go back there again. When you advertise "complimentary" services the you may as well do them, especially when you charge 50 bucks (what a ripoff!!) for a simple oil change. They didn't vacuum the floors or clean the windows (or well at least), which makes me wonder how well they did everything else. An example would be how they were supposed to check my antifreeze level, which I knew was extremely low to empty, but not a word. On the final service sheet it even says "level ok", which it absolutely was not. But don't you fret! the extremely dirty air filter spiel (even though I changed it a couple months ago), how it will affect engine performance and how it NEEDS to be changed, was given like always! This place is run by extremely cheap people that want to make a fast buck on you and care nothing about the actual customer experience. I don't know how other Jiffy Lubes are but this one has given all the rest a bad name. You'e better off investing in the tools and time to do it yourself on a weekend, even if you have absolutely no idea what you're doing. Avoid this place like the plague!! read more

Wasted my time! Pulled in and there was an open bay. Did not put my car in in. Waited 20 minutes and they finished another car. Still didn't move mine in. A new car arrives and they put in the bay that was open when I got there! My car still waiting. And the crew walked over here and over there doing nothing. After waiting 1/2 an hour worker said he was gonna move me in right now. But he didn't! Just went back to walking around. I had enough. Went back to my car to leave employee followed me out and asked if I was leaving. I said yes and just said ok and walked back in! If you go to this place make sure there is a manager there or you'll watch a bunch of slow lazy unmotivated people walk around in circles. I'm never going back read more

I'm impressed with their customer service. My mother, who has started exhibiting early signs of dementia and who never really had to handle issues related to the car until a few years ago, when my dad went into nursing home care, visited Jiffy for an oil change earlier this year. Apparently, they provided her with optional services and an estimate of those services, which she signed, not understanding that it was an agreement to have those services completed. She believed that she only signed an estimate and that she was getting a basic oil change. On top of that, in her forgetfulness, it appears that she left without paying anything! She received several calls from the business about the unpaid bill and then got a certified letter for payment. I was a bit upset about the whole situation. It seemed that they were taking advantage of a confused and elderly women. I've been trying to get the keys out of her hand so that stuff like this won't happen and so she simply isn't driving anymore, but she still has enough of her mind and stubborn ways that it's been an uphill battle. Fortunately, she only does very local driving. In any case, I went ahead and paid the bill for her so she would not have to deal with the matter any further and so she wouldn't incur the debt. Well, yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to receive a thoughtful letter from ownership with a partial refund of the payment. They related their concern for my mother and apologized for any misunderstanding. Would I say that you should be very careful what you sign when dealing with this business? Yes. However, I think that goes for anything that you sign in a business transaction: Pay attention. Also, if you know what you want, just get that, and don't be swayed by a strong sales push. My mother was clearly at a disadvantage, due to her age, but I am happy with how the situation was ultimately handled by Jiffy and I wouldn't hesitate doing business with them in the future. read more

Robert Everland the new General Manager at Jiffy Lube. I've been a customer for years despite any small problems that happened. Robert has surprised me by showing up to my house after a little situation of a lose tire after tire rotation. He came by my House!! to ensure safety for my grandmother and her car. He explained that he reviewed the video of service, his employees did everything correctly torquing each tire by protocol. Robert lifted my grandmothers car in the driveway to check each stud/lug nut. After looking over each tire he noticed the lug nuts we're striped on the back tire that was lose. So he is taking the car to replace the studs so the studs don't snap in the future. He by far cares for the customer!! He will ensure your service is nothing but 100% Great! By the way jiffy lube has always been fast never really came across any major problems! I'm just happy Robert came by my house personally to look over the car. Jiffy lube on 27 somerset ! Manager notified me that oil drain plug was stripped. 6 months and 5K miles since dealer performed last oil change - never any sign of oil leaking on floor of garage until this morning after jiffy lube touched my car. I went to this location to get an oil change. Before doing the oil change, the mechanic working my vehicle told me that there was some corrosion on my battery terminals that needed cleaning (I knew this) so I agreed to the service in addition to the oil change. So while the service is going on I notice serval of the shops mechanics go to my vehicle and take a look. I thought it was suspicious but I brushed it off. So after being at this location for just shy of two hours, I was told my vehicle was done. I go to get in my car and drive off, and it doesn't start. I notified a mechanic and was given a jump and told that I needed to drive around for about 20 minutes to let my battery charge up because it must've died during the cleaning. Ok fine. That's no problem. Hours later I go to leave my home and my car won't start. I pop the hood expecting my battery terminals to be loose or something to that degree and I find that my positive terminal was broken during the cleaning. Kind of shady as SEVERAL of the shops mechanics looked at my vehicle. So instead of being like "Hey you need a new terminal" they gave me a jump and let me drive off. And I'm almost positive one of the mechanics noticed this as SEVERAL of them looked at my vehicle. Immediately I called over and was informed that they would get the part and replace my terminal first thing in the morning. Now this is a hugeeeee inconvenience because I work nights and needed my vehicle to get to work. I was also told that the shop would provide me money to uber to and from work, cool thanks. So the next morning, I jump my car to get it started, and turn on my air conditioning as it was literally the hottest day of the year yet. Air conditioning blows icy within 90 seconds of me getting in. I return to the shop and they were extremely accommodating. As soon as I pulled up, my vehicle was immediately brought into the shop and this time worked on by the general manager of the store. So in less then 24 hours I am forced to spend yet another hour or so in this shop. Eventually the general manager comes and says he replaced my terminal, cleaned the other old terminal, cleaned the battery posts, and put grease on them to prevent corrosion (funny thought I paid for this the day before, but ok). So I drive to my house and go about my day. Hours later, I get into my vehicle (at this point of the day the real feel temperature is above 100 degrees) and coincidentally (sarcasm) my air conditioning no longer blows cold air, and is literally just blowing air that is the temperature of the outside air. I immediately emailed the shop to make them aware of this, (and mentioned that I believe it to potentially be a blown fuse) as I had to go to work for some overtime and would not be able to answer my phone or go back to the shop. I also opened up the hood to see the repair done. Sloppy to say the least. They broke the cover to my positive terminal and instead of saying something, it was just zip tied onto the terminal. Also, it appears to be a "universal terminal" instead of a vehicle specific one. Upon getting off work I noticed I had 3 missed calls, a voicemail, and an email from the shop. The email was simply enough (give us a call), the voicemail however, could only be described as condescending. For about half of the voicemail the general manager spoke about how confused he was about how the invoice at the shop said my real name, and how the name on my email address was something different. Not the problem at hand and honestly not necessary. Not everyone is ok with putting personal information on the internet and I am one of those people as I work in information technology. So I ignore that part and chalk it up to him not thinking about that. The man than goes to tell me that "he doesn't believe the issue to be related to the battery although he won't rule it out". Now I'm not the worlds smartest man but if the issue occurred only after leaving the shop, than surelyyyyy something that was done to my vehicle influenced or caused the issue I currently am facing. I am going to be taking my vehicle to the shop to see if they will rectify the issue. Hopefully they make good of this situation as in a time period of 48 hours my vehicle has had two separate issues after being serviced by this facility. The absolute worst, they told me my anti freeze was low they could top it off for 5 dollars extra I told them I have some at home no thanks. Upon arriving at my house I checked the radiator, it was filled to the top as well as my reservoir ( which I knew beforehand) !! Just trying to get extra money from you for nothing!!!!!
