My husband and I were stranded in Brunswick this past Sunday due to a flat tire on our rental car. We had been back and forth with the rental company for almost 4 hours, when we finally decided to take matters into our own hands and went across the street to Mr. Tire. Long story short, we replaced our rentals tire here and went about our day. But we wanted to take the time to give a shout out to Daniel and Hayden who helped us out that day. From the minute we called them , they were friendly and polite. Upon arrival they were so friendly and helpful to us. They also included a whole list of additional services that, according to another reputable mechanic, were completely unnecessary for my vehicle. ZERO Stars. the worst ever. So bad its hard to believe that this Mr Tire location on Milltown Road in North Brunswick even exists. First, they lied about the estimate for the replacement of my front struts, adding 300+ more later. Then they could not even print out a valid invoice that included labor. They put the wrong tire rods on, and when I returned the next day, they lied again, making me believe that they put on correct and NEW tie rods, instead of putting the old ones back in. They made the front struts problem much worse than it was originally. When I had the car checked out by a real mechanic later - there were so many mistakes with the installation nobody could believe it. I got my money back due to credit card protection. NEVER go to this garage. They are the worst possible level of total incompetance. They will ruin your car if you let them work on it. read more

My daughter and I took her VW to Mr. tire for a belt and pump. They suggested brakes as well and we purchased All services for about $1337. Within a week the car was taken to VW service for a free multi-point inspection. VW said a brake fluid exchange should be performed. I advised daughter to go back to Mr. Tire since the brakes had just been done. Mr. Tire told her to come by--we thought to make up for the oversight. That same day she took the car back. When all was said/done, she was billed another $109.99 + tax. I found that poor customer service since brake fluid exchanges are recommended when brakes & rotors are changed. Attempts to be refunded the additional monies have been declined at the store. Currently, waiting for a callback from Monro Corporate. Regardless, I wouldn't return or recommend this place due to poor customer service. read more

Update I took my car to BMW to get it checked because the coolant light continued to come on and the " mechanic" at Mr. Tire had pulled hoses out of place which is why the light continued to come on! I contacted the customer service department who told me essentially that they were not going to help me at all. Simply fascinated by the outstanding, genuinely kindest service at this auto center! I had been referred to come here from Autozone after purchasing a part for my door. Although it was a sweltering hot day and they were full on busy servicing garage full of cars- the most incredible mechanic who I believe is the manager there fixed my part within 3 minutes! All I showed him was a small little car part and just like a magician- POOF- he knew exactly what to do and sent me on my way in lesser time than I have ever experienced anywhere (let alone a mechanic shop) in my life! Randy is the worse example of leadership in any store. I've watched him treat employees and customers horrible. Randy shouldn't represent leadership and he turns customers away with his rude,aggressive, and filled with sarcasm. Randy learn professionalism and stop coming to Work to abuse everyone seeks a therapist. I hope corporate is reading this you are costing them millions of dollars. I love mr.tire other locations such as old bridge and Edison but northbrunswick has a horrible leader and I feel bad for all that have to deal with randy. Took my car here for a single tire replacement and they couldn't even do that. They gave me a faulty tire and when i went back with my warranty, they decided to spread tar on the tire instead of giving me a new one. The tire did not last a year and now it's on the verge of bursting. Walmart would have done a better job. read more

Stopped at this place after hitting the curb. Person at the counter Randy told me I need a new tire and an alignment. Total cost is $375 and will take about 60-90 min. After waiting for about 30 min for the job to be done, I was approached by the tire technician who told me that my car is perfectly fine, I don't need a new tire and I don't need an alignment either. I couldn't believe my ears and asked another technician who works there and he told me the same. When I confronted Randy about this situation, he told me that these technicians are lazy, they don't want to work, they lied to me and will be fired. I am completely shocked and disgusted. I had my tires replaced, which was fine. I also asked to have my rear brakes checked. When the work was supposedly done, I asked the man at the counter if they checked the brakes. He said that he personally did and they were good. I did not believe that because I occasionally walked outside and looked inside to see how the work was progressing. I did not see the rear drums removed to have the brakes inspected. Well, I accepted what he said and paid for the tires. It was really bothering me whether my rear brakes were ok or not, so I went to another service center a couple of weeks later to verify that the brakes were good. Well, I was surprised to find out that a brake cylinder was leaking brake fluid!!! So The man at the counter lied to me!!! Unbelievable. Update: when I went to pick up the car, the manager apologized and didn't charge me for the diagnostic work done on it or their attempts to recharge the AC. I appreciate the gesture so the 2 stars are for him. My AC wasn't working. Called on a Saturday and asked if they repaired air conditioning and if they'd be able to get it done over the weekend; they said yes but if it needs parts it would take them until Monday to order them. Understandable. No problem. Took the car in at 2 on Saturday and was told I'd hear from them in about 15-30 minutes with a diagnosis. Great. Around their closing time, 6 or 7 pm, I called bc I hadn't heard anything from them and was told that no one had even looked at it yet. Sunday they open at 9am so I called at 11:30am and was told that they had just pulled it in to look at it. By 4 pm, I still hadn't heard anything so I called AGAIN and was told they had just figured out that my compressor was broken and quoted me about $1000 for parts and labor. I'm now going to pick my car up and get the work done somewhere else. read more

I came in for a tire repair and the service was so quick and efficient that I had time leftover to also get an oil change which the accommodated right away! It's a rare thing to find a mechanic you can trust but look no further than this Mr. Tire location. Since I have yet to drive a new car, I am a regular here to make sure I can drive my old Betty into the ground and avoid a new car payment as long as possible! I have never had an experience here short of excellent in terms of their honesty and exceptional service. After superstorm sandy, my fiancé's car was one of the lucky few to be accidentally fed diesel gas at a local Hess station. Dave and the whole staff here were always honest with us about what to expect from the car and even when to throw in the towel on it and buy new instead of wasting any more time and (Hess') money. Still, a couple of years later...I can come in and they know us by name. Whether I make an appointment or just walk in, they are friendly and helpful. Sent my 17 yr old in with a nail in the tire, which were "covered" by previously purchased Road Hazzard Insurance at this location. The "free" repair cost $120!!! We were informed that the nail was "too close to the tire wall" and we were given a "free' tire due to the Road Hazzard Insurance. That "free" tire cost just $70 in labor and fees. What?!?!? Oh, and the cabin air filter, that we did not come in for but was presented for dire need of replacement, cost $22 plus $27 in labor. $27 to swap out an air filter located behind the glove compartment? It maybe takes 2 minutes to do that. So, for the "free" repair I sent my son in for (for which we had already paid for coverage) it cost me about $100 in labor costs. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more

No complaints here. My car was finished when they said it would be and my problem was fixed. They also have coupons online. Oil change and tire rotation was $21.99. The guys are friendly and professional. I don't recommend waiting though its no dealership they have an old tv and some folding chairs. We had a flat in downtown New Brunswick while on vacation. AAA got us on the small spare in under 30 minutes and suggested the Mr. Tire/Goodyear on 557 Milltown Road. Upon arrival, the gentleman behind the counter warned us that they were short folks that day and it could be 2-3 hours before they got to us. About 90 minutes later we pulled out with the tire repaired and all systems a GO! Polite, friendly, helpful and definitely trustworthy! Our tire could and was repaired and there was no pressure, upsell, just efficient service that is greatly appreciated! I took my car in for a service engine light. Be forewarned I did I had checked the code knowing it related to heating system. They told me they would have to diagnose the CMU @ $135.00, I expected that. Here's what I didn't expect: batt maint service, they didn't ask me if I wanted it done, charged $9.50. Radiator cap, they didn't ask, and I didn't need it, was an $11.00 part and they charged me $19.99. Thermostat gasket, $5.00 part and they charged me $12.99. Coolant, $120.99. Two days later the car had no heat at all. Took the car back and they flushed the heater core with water for 2 hours and only got minimal heat. They didn't charge me and I didn't expect to be charged. But I went to put radiator cleaner in the system when I got home and lifted the hood the hood struts were broken, interior was greasy, they left a cut off hose under the hood. I called to complain about the hood and he told me the hood was like that when I brought the car in the first time. I was under the hood before I brought it in, was under the hood three times before I brought it back today and the hood was fine. The struts failed after they service the car today and didn't bother to mention the problem. He tried to tell me it was due to lack of maintenance. The least they could have done was to bring it to my attention. Needless to say I won't be being my business there anymore. read more

Would probably give this place about 3.5 stars. Their prices are pretty good and they do a thorough job on oil changes. They'll grade your tires and brake pads and help give you an idea if/when they need to be replaced in addition to changing your oil and checking your fluid levels. They take a little longer for my liking but overall they do a good job for a good price. read more

Recently I had to change a brake light and I called in requesting a quote. The manager quoted me a price but the worst part of the whole experience was scheduling a convenient time. The guy stated the following "I cant change confirmed appointments just because you cant get here on time". The new customer service manager (short spanish dude) is very rude. Especially if you are not a Spanish speaking customer. This dude needs some serious customer service training. Another time I saw him deride an Asian customer because they couldn't understand him. While driving, my check engine light came on. I called at about 4pm to find out how late I could drop my car off. Note, I have only ever taken my car to this location since 2007. I dropped my car off at 4:45ish pm and was told that it was unlikely that the tech would look at it, but that it would go in first thing in the morning. This location opens at 7:30am. At 9am I hadn't heard anything to so I called and was told my car was in and I would receive a call within the hour. At 12:02pm I still had not received a call so I called again and was told someone would call me with pricing. I said within the next 30 minutes, and was told yes. At 12:38pm I called back and said I would remain on hold until someone could take the call and tell me what was going on. After 7 minutes on hold, I spoke to John - a very polite and patient man - who informed me that two codes came on, but the first needs to be fixed before assessing the second. And so I wait some more... The short version of this is...if you have all the time in the world, by all means, check out Mr. Tire. They've only every done great work on my car. But the proverbial bedside manner exhibited by the person who man's the desk sucks. read more
