My car is brand new , i went to change the oil they started with the most expensive and wanted to change filter and rotate tires and and and , i told the guy i bought my car just 3 months ago i dont need that . He started dramatizing and just told him NO please change oil ONLY. After changing the oil i was on my way for work in San Francisco, near the airport i heard a very loud noise when i looked under the car , they forgot to tie the screws of the shield under my engine after changing the oil and it was ruined . I returned back to them , the manager , Louis, did not even apologize about what had happened , just told me now it is done . I dont recommend changing or doing anything in that store any more , completely non professionals they will ruin your car . read more

I've been going to this Jiffy Lube since June, 2012. The employees at this location are great, very friendly and professional. I used to go to the one on Stevens Creek and I always got a sales pitch... they wanted me to spend money on things that I knew were perfectly fine. Got tired of that and decided to switch to this location. So glad I made the decision. They recommended I get an oil change done every 8000 miles vs. 5000 like the other location told me. I got a "low oil" sign 6000 miles after the oil change so I went in to see them. They topped off some more oil, vaccumed my car and cleaned my windshield ALL FOR FREE. The price I pay stayed the same, but I started to get a better value for my buck. Amazing professional service!!! read more

I don't know why this jiffy lube has so many bad reviews. The staff is very friendly, even hold the door open for you. Yes, they try to upsell you on things but that is just their job. I simply decline the tire and filter offer and they proceeded with the oil change. T he wait was only 15 to 20 minutes which was expected. Went In for an oil change and called in advance to see how long the wait would be. They told me to come on in and they'll get me out of there asap. Got there before three other people who got there after me , but got out the last!!! I think they're nice, but very bad at keeping turns for people that get there in the order the arrive first! Don't take them at their quoted time. Cause it's never accurate. They walk around with no sense of urgency no matter how many cars are waiting. One guy slowly walking around the garage doing nothing. I had a bad experience with the Jiffy Lube years ago. Today I decided to give them another chance. I went to this location on the corner of El Camino and Mary Avenue. The staff was very courteous and helpful. They finished changing the oil quickly as promised. They also as a courtesy cleaned out the cab of my truck and clean the windshield. They also left my truck locked as I went off site to finish working on another job. Many of these places will leave your truck unlocked and unsupervised and someone else can get into your car. It's little things like this that make a difference. Would definitely come back to have my oil changed read more

WHAT A FIASCO! They lost my keys on Monday by leaving them outside of my car and because the car has keyless ignition, I drove off and got home to find out the keys dropped off somewhere along the way. Instead of handing me the keys, the technician stupidly left them on the surface where of course they would fall off! The worst part is that it has now been two days and I have not received any response to my calls and emails to the District Manager, Saul, who is supposed to follow up to resolve the problem. This is horrible customer service. Jiffy Lube needs to pay for the replacement of my keys and fobs but instead they're ignoring my messages and emails and are creating an angry customer who is going to keep fighting until they fix the problem. Went to Jiffy lube 999 El Camino because my 'Maint Reqd' light came on. My 2013 Corolla maintenance manual indicated I did need an oil change, so got oil change at Jiffy Lube. Have two complaints. 1. The 'Maint Reqd' light is still coming on, was it not reset? 2. My car had about 43,662 miles on the odometer but my work order receipt says the mileage was 46,759. Not good for proper record keeping. The tech asked what the mileage was, I said didn't know but thought it was around 47,000. The tech said he would check it when they took the car in, but guess they didn't. read more

Flushed with Coolant Flush! I wish my son had checked the poor reviews on this place before going there on June 12, 2017, he went in for a simple oil change but Victor Flores the manager talked him into getting a Coolant Flush. Victor stated, " It is not Jiffy Lube's job to see if the service is necessary," but strangely they are comfortable telling customers the service is needed. On May 7, 2017, the radiator was replaced in the vehicle which includes flushing the coolant. Yet on June 12, 2017, Victor Flores affirmatively noted a coolant flush was due. Not only did the vehicle not need the service but Jiffy Lube charges $99.99 for the service which includes a $50 charge for the coolant which Victor stated was pre-mixed. Typically there is coolant mixed with water so approximately 5 quarts of coolant and close to that in water but Jiffy Lube charges for 10 quarts of coolant at $5 per quart even though the other half is water. Victor refused to show me the coolant they use but the receipt shows some off brand "Universal Antifreeze/Coolant." While there speaking with Victor, I called the dealership that replaced the radiator to get the date it was done, per Victor's request. The representative was appalled and told me to get my money back. I said yeah, this is stealing money. Prior to going to Jiffy Lube today I went to another mechanic to see why the check engine light was on. Interestingly enough the code displayed a problem with the Coolant. Victor said it has nothing to do with them, and the service they provided probably triggered the check engine light to come on because it would have probably come on later. Hmmmmm. Victor also told me he couldn't talk anymore because he had to help other customers but there weren't any other customer waiting. Maybe it got a little too real. Update: Okay guys, got to report the good as well as the bad. Victor called and said Saul, the District Manager, does not want to lose a customer so they offered to refund us. He left this message prior to my posting the review so, I give them kudos for doing the responsible thing. read more

Stopped in today, a little after noon, wanted to get my oil changed. Store didn't appear busy only 2 cars in the bays, third bay was empty. We waited a while for someone to come out and talk with me. I Was told there would be a 45 minute wait. Had my elderly mom with me, told him I guess i'd have to go somewhere else. he said yes, probably too hot for her to sit in the car. I will never, ever go back to this store. Normally go to Gilroy for my oil changes but I'm staying in Mountain View and it is too far away. read more

These people are crooks. They were caught lying to and cheating customers by the state bureau of automotive repairs. When I went there, they tried to pressure me into repairs that my car didn't need. When I turned them down, they cheated me by changing my oil using an expensive synthetic brand that I didn't request. Stay away from them! Update: As you can see, they have posted a nice response saying they wanted me to contact them so they could make this right (see below). Actually, I contacted them when this happened, and they said "oh, the manager tried to upsell you." No, actually the manager cheated me. They asked how they could make it right, and I said they could refund the excess cost of making me pay for more expensive oil. They promised to do so, and I gave them my address to send a check to. No check ever arrived. It's clear that he only reason they talked to me was to find out whether I was going to report them to state regulators. They have even worked on my car while I stayed in the car because my baby fell asleep and they were soooo considerate of his nap. Did i mention they will top you off in between oil changes?! I am kicking myself for coming here for an oil change, but I live so close by... 1. Mazda recommends using 0W-20 oil for my car. I asked the person checking me in for 0W-20 oil. They said this would be fine, and printed up an estimate sheet. I walked back to the waiting area, and noticed the printout had 5W-30 oil listed. Wrong grade! I went back to the counter and they said that there they did not stock 0W-20 non-synthetic oil, so this was switched to 5W-30. Not cool, since using the wrong oil blend can damage the engine. 2. I showed the $10 oil change coupon from the web site as I was being checked in. After I left I noticed that the $10 coupon had not been applied to my bill. I called and they stated that you have to specifically mention the coupon at check-out, and they are not able to apply it after the charge has gone through. They refused to give me a $10 refund. In summary: As the other reviewers have noted, there is no attention to detail here and so you should not trust your car to them. I won't be coming back. read more

I see all the 1 star reviews here and having just popped in and had a delightful experience, I note that i've only been here once and my need was very specific. I didn't come for an oil change-- i won't be cheating on my sweet oil folks in Palo Alto at 9 min oil change, they are too awesome, but I came as its an uber-hot day and my car was calling for coolant! So i pulled in, they were totally efficient and quick and when I asked the charge, the fella said "nope, its nothing, we provide that free of charge!" WHAT?! How awesome is that?? I think they are OK for basic oil changes, but I don't trust their upsells. During a recent oil change, they brought "my" cabin air filter to show me how dirty it was. Problem was, I had checked my cabin filter the previous week and (1) they showed me a completely WRONG filter that didn't look anything like my filter, and (2) it was dirtier than my actual filter. I told them it didn't look anything like my filter, but they insisted they had just pulled it out of my car. I wish I had pushed the issue, but was pressed for time. BEWARE THE 2017 NEW YEARS COUPON!!! It is highly misleading if not outright deceptive. You may have received it in the mail or with the Sunday paper advertising their "Signature Service Oil Change" with no written restrictions or disclaimers. You have to turn it over and read the fine print on the back. (Always recommended and quite foolish if you don't.) But the actions of the service reps help contribute to the deception. When I first arrived, I clearly stated I had come in to purchase an oil change for $22.99, the price prominently displayed on the coupon. When I presented the coupon, I was told, "We'll deal with that at the end." I was asked to use an electronic pad to sign for an estimate which listed a price of $54.36. When I again stated I was expecting to pay $22.99. I was told, "We will apply the discount at the end." Based on my understanding that the price would be $22.99 after discount, I made the mistake of using the electronic pad, not receiving a hard copy until after I signed. A few moments later, a Technician approached and began his up sell routine. He invited me into the service bay and showed me his computer screen saying I could chose from three types of oil. The lowest price option was for a Shell product and the others were for Penzoil. It is worth noting the coupon page bears a large logo for Penzoil products. I specifically asked if my coupon covered Penzoil products. The Tech said "yes" and that all I needed to do was choose one. I pointedly asked, '"will they all be the same price?" He then said he needed to check with his manager, left, returned and as expected stated I was to receive the lowest priced option, the Shell product. I said please give me what the coupon specifies. A short time later I was told my car was ready, I presented my coupon and was told, it was not needed and I could keep it. The service rep then reviewed the services performed, entered a discount code, expressed surprise when it registered a $17.00 discount instead of "the usual fifteen" and the total due was $36.48. As a Senior citizen, I found the additional charges disturbing and stated once again I expected to pay the advertised price of $22.99. The rep said the service provided up to 5 quarts of oil and stated the manufacturer specified my vehicle could take up to seven. I checked the coupon and verified the fine print specified a 5 quart limitation. The rep confirmed I was charged $5 per quart for the additional two quarts, oil I am sure I can purchase for 99 cents at other locations. I had to ask several pointed questions before the rep finally stated they had given me 7 quarts of oil. I agreed to pay $10.00 above the coupon price, but was told I must also pay the sales tax of $3.49. When I asked why $10.00 in oil was being taxed at 34.9% he stated the tax applied to the entire purchase. He pointed out that the coupon did indeed state in even smaller fine print "plus tax most vehicles". I won't even go into the confusing receipt which made taxable items hard to separate from non-taxable services. At this point, I simply noted I would be filing a complaint of deceptive advertising with the Better Business Bureau and was told I was welcome to do so. Rest assured a complaint will be filled. I will also be filing a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs. I feel I clearly stated my understanding of the transaction and was verbally told my understanding was correct, despite the paperwork they created which may show otherwise. They had ample opportunity to clear up my misunderstanding, but never made the effort, instead providing answers and commentary that furthered the misunderstanding. You have been warned. Demand straight and honest answers to your questions. If you're a senior, don't forget your reading glasses for the tiny print and do not expect fair and honest treatment from this location. It appears they are happy to let you believe you are purchasing for one price while all the while planning to charge you another. read more

I've gone to this location for a while, however this most recent time I was trying to get my oil changed, I was super disappointed. There has been personnel turn over. I came multiple times different days different times, morning afternoon trying to hit a time when I could get in and out within an hour for a simple oil change. Twice I was told it would be at least an hour before they could even start on my car even though there was only one or two cars there, this morning, the morning of Wednesday, October 17 I got there right after they opened it, there was one in there before me, and the guys working couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge me even though I pointedly said good morning to them. Ugh, don't. A couple of days prior to coming here I noticed my A/C wasn't doing its job - they pointed out my cooling fluid was low, and so I thought sure, I'm here, let's get it done. It wasn't cooling after my visit to Jiffy Lube, so I brought it to a shop to get the A/C looked at. The shop I took it to later found no leaks in my system, and nothing else wrong - they just added some coolant and everything was fixed. Only once I brought my car to this place, and believe me NEVER AGAIN!!! A month after oil change I noticed that my car was making scary noises and smog was coming from under the hood. I brought the car to my mechanic and apparently just in time, because the engine was about to die. The guys at Jiffi Lube did not tighten the oil drain plug and oil slowly leaked away. I thought oil change was a pretty easy task, especially when it's almost all Jiffi does! What a mistake!!! My advice: if you want your car to run stay away from this place! I came in for an oil change and tire rotation. A little while later I went to add air to the tires and discovered that they had bolted on the hub caps in the wrong position, covering the valve stem and making it impossible to pump them up. Had to go back and get them to fix it. Pretty basic incompetence makes you wonder what else they're getting wrong. read more

They do not do all the services they list as part of their oil change. My brother's friend got in an argument with Jiffy Lube over the same thing. They always over fill the oil. I think quality varies from Jiffy Lube to Jiffy Lube but you should stay away from the one in Sunnyvale . read more

However, when I arrived I waited 30 minutes before my car was even taken back and then the coupons which I had bought from a jiffy lube. They are just here to steal money from the working woman trying to get you to spend more than what's needed. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. The guy tried to offer me a coupon for 10 dollars but when I for another for 15 off other areas he wouldn't accept it, jiffy lube is jiffy lube. What a dread full place.Went in for an oil change, found nobody at the reception, hung around for more than 5 minutes, before stepping out. I peered into the working station, where I spied 2 gentlemen [one with the limp and the other without]. I guess they had a competition or betting going on as to who can ignore me more, both they their very best, but I give my vote to the guy with the limp - his tattoos and rock start beard and all. I had enough - backed my car out to a continuous stare from these 2 jokers and also a sneer/snicker- I think they forgot that they need customers to actually make their living out of! Professional and courteous hard workers with a great sense of customer service. It was a livid hot day and they were working fast and efficiently. They kept me informed and updated about my time and readiness of vehicle. It cost more than I was prepared to spend so I didn't add the tire rotation which I deeded. They also didn't have my air filter (VW Passat) in stock so I didn't have that changed. They vacuumed my car but left a nice oil stain on the interior where you grab to open the hood to the engine. Good thing my car is scheduled to be detailed next week. Great team, hard workers. Will go back with a coupon next time AND always before I have my car cleaned. read more

I had the oil/oil filter changed, tires rotated, and other services done today. According to Jiffy Lube's poster, the oil package includes vacuuming the inside of the car and washing the windows. Yet, although my receipt said those tasks had been completed, Tony and his team didn't actually complete them. HOW can I trust that Jiffy Lube will actually perform the services I pay for if Jiffy Lube's staff don't fulfill their promise to do small stuff like vacuuming the inside and washing the windows? Also, Jiffy Lube service advisor Bianca asked me what type of oil I wanted for my car. Isn't Jiffy Lube supposed to be the expert and recommend a brand of oil FIRST and then let me make the decision? Also, the Jiffy Lube staff noted on my receipt that the brake fluid was "low." Because Jiffy Lube doesn't work with breaks, I asked a mechanic at my car dealer to add brake fluid. He added less than an ounce because--contrary to what Jiffy Lube indicated--the car actually wasn't low in break fluid. Jiffy Lube's mistaken diagnosis of "low" brake fluid had me waste my time running to the dealer! Also, when Jiffy Lube staff completed the services, they left my car, with the driver's side door wide open and the car running, near the side walk, behind the office and about 30 feet from the service area. The car could NOT be seen from the office nor from the service garage, so someone could have easily stolen it or some of my belongings. Jiffy Lube's staff's lack of responsibility and respect for the safety of my car infuriated me. Is Jiffy Lube going to wait until a car is stolen to teach some common sense to its staff? I will never go back to Jiffy Lube. Based on today's experience, I am unsure whether its staff has the competence to do a good job for me. read more

The service was excellent but the guy at the counter was very pushy and rude. While getting my info I told them I had a coupon and he said "Ok, I will apply that to your total when you pay" they rang up my transaction and after I paid, I noticed the coupon wasn't applied. After telling him they forgot the coupon he gave me attitude and said "It's YOUR JOB to give us the coupon" even though he instructed me that he would ring it up. He also said, "there's no way I can apply the coupon now" after arguing with him, he voided the transaction and applied the coupon. Very disappointed with my experience here. I brought my own oil, which I paid $45 for, because I've been told in the past that Jiffy Lube does not carry the specific type of oil my car requires (2005 VW Passat Wagon TDI). When I presented my $15 off coupon that I had printed from their website, I was told that because I was not using their oil, I could not use the coupon. I explained that I have used this coupon in the past, with my own oil, at this location, with no problem. They refused to honor the coupon. It makes no sense that bringing in my own oil instead of using their oil, invalidates their coupon. I am saving them money. What i wasn't expected is that they took my money from the cigar tray, even though it's only couple dollar, i am not happy about it. I know who took it, but no prove, so i just let it go. For a business to success and attract customers, without teaching these teenagers not to steal; for a long term, it's not really benefits to both company and those kids working at this job. They need to have camera or to monitor!
