12/22 4:30-5:30 Went in for a battery replacement plus other services and when I paid I was told I needed a starter and alternator. They drove my car aggressively into the bay which made me feel suspicious to their care for the customers cars. Waited to pay and had a woman who seemed to have her own agenda bc of her explanation to why I needed a new started and alternator when I have gotten a new one of each within the past 3 years. When I got home my car would not start once I turned it off to on. I'm not an expert but when I looked under the hood my car was tampered with to the point it could not start up again. I'm never going back to this location and I'd recommend their staff be taught customer engagement bc they seemed untrustworthy and suspicious. read more

Meanwhile the Reisterstown location has changed the oil in this same vehicle in 15 min, 20 min max. Manager was very rude when I asked why it was taking so long. I was greeted quickly and ushered into a large waiting area that was clean and bright. There is a bathroom for the Ladies, coffee, magazines and a tv. I was given a host of recommendations for my vehicle that is about to reach 150000 miles, but I just came for the oil change. Other JFs will have someone waiting at my vehicle to open the door, but no one was at the door and neither did anyone walk me to my vehicle. They did change the oil. But they were supposed to check tire pressure. I specifically asked if they did and they said yes. And the receipt said they did inflate to 35 pounds, but the next day I tested all 4 tires and pressure ranged from 25-30 pounds. Makes me wonder if they did anything they were supposed to do. I've been taking my cars to JiffyLube Eldersburg for a few years now. I just do the oil change and tire rotation because they are quick and convenient. I have a family mechanic that I take my vehicles to on a regular basis for other necessary service. I am so disappointed with the service today and other times I have been in. I sent my son who is almost 19 and on the spectrum with the instructions to ONLY get an oil change and tire rotation. I told him don't get any other services regardless of what they say needs to be done. (BTW this vehicle JUST had 90k service done about 6 months ago AND new brakes) He texted me to say he didn't have enough money in his account to cover the bill. To which I called the JiffyLube directly. He was charged for the oil change, tire rotation, coolant flush and add, brake flush and I'm not sure what else. I spoke to the customer service rep and the manager. Essentially they told me this is how they do business. So bottom line is, faster isn't always better, my son was NOT aware that he was going to be charged more for the additional services. The manager told me they were 60 cars in today and that's what they do to everyone. Avoid this place - such a horrible experience. read more

After an oil change I went back to tell them I was leaking oil. They took it inside and came back telling me they had checked but it was just spilled oil that had dripped down. Now I'm back for another oil change at a different location and guess what they stripped out the drain plug and it has been leaking still for all this time! I will never go back! Worst place I've ever taken any of my cars to. Got a oil change here was told would be done in 15 minutes little to find out 25 minutes later they come back and say they don't have gaskets or oil filters for my vehicle so why they even started to work on my car amazes me. They cycled the old oil through my vehicle put the dirty filter back as if it wasnt a problem Was told I'd be fine to drive my 3 month old car and to come back Monday for the rest of the job. 10 miles down the road my car is blowing more smoke then I've ever seen the engine was dead due to debris in my oil and lines running to engine because of the work they did. Got in contact with the owner who is very very rude and unprofessional who said they couldn't have done that and my 3 month old car ive put 6k miles already is messed up just a coincidence it happened 10 miles after they did shitty work. Never go here unless u want a 50$ oil change to cost u 5000$ plus. they don't know what they are doing and their owner takes no pride or responsibility read more

I went here for an oil change and they either put way to little or no oil in my car, my light begin to flash and then car started making noises, had a mechanic check it out who stated you engine could've locked up and there are no leaks nor burning. I contacted corporate and they said they will send a complaint ticket to location and they did. I was contacted by Terri the GM, I explained to her what happened and she said, without 1st an apology, oh Kia and Hyundai vehicles burn oil and i should've bought it back at 3,000 miles to be topped off. I asked her when did they start saying this to customer, she stated 2 weeks ago, which does not apply to me because I haven't been there within 2 weeks let alone Kia has not made that statement apparent to me. I am not yet due for an oil change according to their calculations and the current mileage but Terri went on to say it is my responsibility to check my oil and she will NOT except any liability for the issue. I have used the Jiffy Lube in Eldersburg for oil changes for sometime and always been very pleased . The other day my wife informed me her dash board was lighting up like a Christmas Tree and she was to concerned to drive the car , I called the Acura dealership but they could not get me in for a week so I just decided to bring it to Jiffy Lube . WOW !! In 10 minutes they diagnosed the problem and fixed it . I could not be more happy , the car was back working so fast my wife didn't think I took it anywhere. Took my wifes car into the Eldersburg Jiffy lube back in winter. When I went to go change the oil myself I found out that they "tech" had tightened the drain plug and oil filter way too tight. After about an hours worth of work I was finally able to get both off, but not until I had crushed the filter and worn most of the head of the drain plug down. Called Jiffy lube when I wasn't able to originally get them off and they said they wouldn't have it towed down at their expense after their cheap filter crushed and then pretty much told me it was my fault that all this happened because their techs only tighten things "hand tight." Unless Im the Hulk I don't think i can crush a filter with my hands. Asked them to pay for a new $5 drain plug and again was told they won't be held responsible for their tech's work. National and local customer service is a fraud, owner told national he had talked to me a week earlier and solved the problem when no one had contacted me at all. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CARE HERE, FINDING OUT FROM NEIGHBORS THAT THIS IS A CONTINUING PROBLEM HERE. read more

I have been going to this Jiffy Lube for years with my fleet trucks and never had any problems. So I decided one day to get a transmission change in my personal truck since this Jiffy Lube has never let me down with my fleet trucks. Before deciding to go to the Jiffy Lube I called around for prices, including the dealership where I purchased my personal truck from. They all said my truck used standard transmission fluid and gave me pricing reflecting that. The Eldersburg Jiffy Lube was in close proximity to my house plus offered comparable prices in comparisons to other places around Eldersburg that could do the transmission fluid replacement. Upon arriving to Jiffy Lube one of their workers greeted me outside the garage door and asked me what service I would like. I told him I was interested in getting a transmission fluid changed but wanted to make sure that they knew my truck use standard transmission fluid and not the synthetic one. He insisted that he would have his manager check on the Jiffy Lube computer to make sure and confirm which fluid my truck should take. So I proceeded to go inside and sit down in the waiting room for a few minutes. The manager then came and told me how my truck took fully synthetic transmission fluid and that it was going to cost a lot more than a normal transmission fluid change. I asked him "was he sure about this and did he check with a dealership to confirm what transmission fluid they would use? "He replied with "this is what Jiffy Lube recommends we used on this truck!" By now they already had backed the truck over to a parking spot and was draining my fluid out of the top of the engine. So I decided to confirm with the dealership one more time while they were proceeding to change my transmission fluid and they confirmed again that the truck is standard transmission fluid and not the synthetic type. After all of that, I decided to walk out to the technician changing the fluid on my truck and ask them why they were using synthetic transmission fluid instead of the regular type? He said that he was going to go and check again on the computer. He came back nervous telling me they could give me discounts on the synthetic transmission fluid change to bring the price down to around what the regular fluid would have cost. Then the heavyset, short, african-American manager came out of the back door and told me "he was kinda upset and feeling some type of way". I was little taken back by that comment, was he telling me that he was upset because I double checked through a car dealership confirming the proper fluid that should have been used in my truck from the beginning or was he upset that I caught him in a lie overcharging customers for more expensive services then they did not need it. I ended up getting a discount on the transmission fluid change by them using any code they find by scrolling through the computer at the front desk. My biggest concern out of this whole event was how many customers did they get with this scam!!! read more

Upon arrival, there was a gentleman ready for the car who got the car door for me and sent me in the direction of another gentleman who got the building door for me. Everyone greeted me warmly and I was told everything that was at my disposal (bathrooms, TV, coffee, etc) but I barely had time to sit before my car was ready. Granted it was a slow time for them and I was the only one there so they could focus on my customer service, but they all treated me fantastically, and on the way out I received the same doors held and well wishes. The shop was clean, they made recommendations but were not pushy, and they even tried to find me the best coupon that would apply. read more

Been here twice, once by choice the second to complain about the first, and the second time they did the same thing. My oil filter clearly is labeled to use 20 lbs of torque to tighten it. The first time they changed my oil they tightened it so tight that I couldn't break it free even using my impact wrench set to 100 PSI. I brought it back in told them what they had done the first time, they apologized gave me a few bucks off and told me they wouldn't do that again. I just tried to remove the cap again for the next oil change and ended up breaking the oil filter wrench trying to get it off. Apparently 20 pounds to their techs mean put it on as tight as possible. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. I have been a customer of Jiffy Lube for many years (though I usually go to the Columbia, MD location). On November 19, 2013 I took my car to the Eldersburg location for an oil change, and also had the fuel injectors cleaned. Over the past several days, I have noticed several personal items that are missing from my car. These were items that were in my center console and covered, they were not out in the open. They even took a CD out of my disk changer! I am the only person driving this car, so nobody else would have moved or removed items from the car except for me. This was my first visit that started out great. I was greeted by the bay staff, who led me into the waiting area. I stood at the counter that had a sign above it stating "start here." I stood there for ten minutes waiting for a woman that was processing other customers. At some point she left and went into the bay area without acknowledging me. I continued to stand there but after awhile I went ahead and sat in a chair. After waiting another 15-20 minutes, I approached the woman after she came back in to process another customer. Long story short....she could not check me in because the car was not in the bay. This is so ridiculous! I had hoped I could leave the facility and run errands (I had another car available), while my car was serviced. Instead I wasted my time waiting on being checked in. This place I thought would be convenient and fast; ended up being a waste of my time, compounded with frustration! read more

Well, we had been taking our three cars to this Jiffy Lube for MANY years - pricey, nothing special about changing oil, but so convenient. However, a recent experience has shaken our confidence in the quality of service and caused us to be disappointed in their response to customer dissatisfaction. I had my oil changed specifically in preparation for a long trip. I picked the car up and left that night for travel. There was no problem until I reached the interstate - at higher speed I noticed a rattling which turned out to be that the hood was not latched. No biggy - I stopped and shut it. About 160 miles into the trip a big warning light came up on the dash - OIL LOW. This wasn't the normal low oil indicator - this was the danger warning. I stopped again and this time checked the oil - nothing registered on the dip stick. I carry a quart, so I added that, and now the level showed up on the very tip of the stick. I stopped and bought another quart and that filled it. So the same day as my Jiffy Lube oil change, the level was two quarts low. When I returned from my trip I immediately went back to Jiffy Lube in Eldersburg and spoke to one of the managers, Dan. Here's where the disappointment comes in - Dan was adamant that there was no possible way that his guys had made any kind of mistake and not added the correct amount of oil. He said there must be a leak. There was no oil seen anywhere to indicate a leak, before, after, or since. The oil level in the car had not been low prior to the Jiffy Lube Service, and now these few weeks later they are also not low, which would be the case if there were a leak. The most logical explanation to me is that Jiffy Lube made a mistake and didn't put enough oil in during the service. Maybe the technician needed to get more (which would explain that the hood wasn't latched) and someone else thought it was done? But Dan staunchly defended his position that it was "impossible" for such a thing to happen. There was no apology for my inconvenience, no coupon toward next service, not even an offer to reimburse for the $10 I had to spend in oil after my expensive Jiffy Lube service. The worst part is that based on this situation, I don't feel that I can trust Jiffy Lube - seems like they will say whatever to defend their own position. If that is the case, I don't know how I could believe them in the future when they tell me I need this or that service. It comes down to integrity, and that's a big piece of doing business. So goodbye Jiffy Lube - I'll opt for the cheaper oil change at Walmart and go to the dealer for all those other expensive services that you tell me I need. read more

It's been a few years since I've visited this Jiffy Lube, because Westminster is much more convenient. In any event, I was in the area and needed an oil change on my son's car. I pulled in at 6:25 and noticed the sign on the door that they closed at 6:30 on weekdays. Cognizant that the staff might be anxious to leave close to 6:30, I sent my son inside to see if they were closed. A nice gentleman told my son that they could get me in and to pull around back. When I started to pull up to the first bay, an older man ran outside and started pointing me to pull through the parking area. I wasn't sure what he wanted me to do, so I pulled in and he angrily pointed for me to continue through and to leave the property. My son hopped back in the car and I pulled to the front of the property. The manager who initially said they were open came out waving for me to pull back around. I can only imagine what they would have done to my engine had I pulled back in and let them change the oil. I have never been treated so rudely at a place of business. I will never go to this Jiffy Lube again. And I will make sure that everyone in the Eldersburg/Gamber/Sykesville/Westminster community hears of my experience.
