The employees working with me all appeared to be teenagers. When I arrived, one of the teenage employees told me to stay in my car because the oil change would only take about 15 minutes and would be more convenient for me. Then the teenager by my window asked me to open the window. He had a large screen and showed me the price: about $178 for the oil change and filter, or $78 for labor only. I had never paid this much for an oil change, but I thought maybe the convenience of staying in my car made it worthwhile. I closed the window, but shortly afterward the teenager asked me to open it again and started trying to sell me additional services. In short, he offered me three other lubrication-related services costing roughly $150 to $270 each. Meanwhile, it was getting very hot inside my car. I wanted to close the window, but he kept knocking on it and telling me about different steps of the oil change and trying to sell me more services. I couldn't comfortably run the A/C while the car was being serviced. Instead of the quick 15-minute oil change I had been told to expect, I sat in my car for about 35 minutes, sweating, smelling oil, and listening to repeated sales pitches. At one point, I wanted to get out of the car. I was about to scream. The teenager told me, "No, you stay in the car." That was the moment I became extremely upset. I felt trapped. I did not want to yell at the kid, it was not his fault, so I stayed calm, waited until they were finished, and left. For me, this was not convenient at all. It felt like a trap designed to keep me sitting there while they repeatedly tried to sell me additional services. Even if Valvoline offered me a free oil change, I would never go back.

But I brought my Subaru in for the typical oil change this past, hot Sunday. They didn't tell me until AFTER the fact. But they accidentally drained my CVT fluid (which is a big deal for Subarus). I don't know what they replaced the fluid with since the fluid wasn't listed on the invoice. My car started to make a "whizzing" noise from the CVT area while slowly ascending an incline. This noise hasn't previously happened in the past. I was already planning to bring it into Subaru for a CVT fluid flush. But this mistake by Valvoline made it mandatory for me. So I'm bringing it into Subaru tomorrow. I'm hoping that the transmission fluid they used hasn't caused any damage. I don't know if it was just the hot weather. But I can't trust them enough to go back to them now. I'm hoping no real damage was done to my CVT.

I went in for transmission fluid change earlier in February in my Toyota Camry 2018. I bought OEM Toyota transmission fluid and asked Joe to help do drain and fill.The drain and fill was completed. After that there was a rough driving issues started. I went back to show my car to joe and he drove the car he told me he don't see any issues. I wanted him to check transmission fluid port on if there is low transmission fluid he didn't agree and told me I might be overthinking. I went to different mechanic in April and he checked. I paid $100 to reopen the port for transmission fluid and what we saw was no fluid came out from the primary port. He added 0.5 quarters left. The issues I have had for rough idle and need to have higher RPM on slope went away completely.According to him you have to keep the car running when you drain the fluid and you need to have it at the right temperature he said the drain and fill wasn't done correctly that's why there was still room for fluid. The viscosity of the fluid makes a difference in how much you can fill and drain. He double checked for leakage and there were no leaks either. When I went to joe and asked about don't you have to keep car warm to see if temperature is right? He said you only do it when there is a leak. I don't think Joe knew enough about mechanics of New car. I wasn't overthinking when I went to ask Joe for help and asked to recheck the transmission fluid. I paid $260 for labor only( $160 to Joe and $100 to another mechanic) for same job. It's really absurd. Overall this could have damaged my transmission. I think for future the customer advise should be taken seriously. I know my car well so I know when it's not acting good. I have been driving it from 10 years.
