My hood latch is broken & they were able to get in no problem & replace my coolant for me. I also spilled my water cup inside & I'm so sorry I still feel bad. lol 10/10 would & I am going to recommend this place. This wasn't my first choice (it will be now) as I tried 3 other auto shops in tomball & they ALL turned me away & with distaste in their voice after I told them about the broken latch. Long story coming. Bear with me, I rarely complain publicly. So today, I took my car (with a baby and an 11 year old) to get inspected. Anyway, I went to Valvoline off of Main Street. After waiting for about 20 minutes, it was my turn. There were two inspectors who were working together. One took a quick walk around my car and informed me that it would not pass inspection. I asked why. He said that 1) my back windshield wiper was damaged and needed to be replaced. I asked if they could do that for me and he said yes. Perfect. He was going to make a product/service sale. No problem. 2) My windshield brow tint was too low. He proceeded to pull out a tape measure and measured the outside of the windshield to show me. It was 7 inches long. Apparently it can only be 5 inches. I asked him if I should take my car to the dealership to get it fixed since they were the ones that installed the tint. He said, "People sell illegal tint all the time. But you won't pass inspection with this. It's too long." It wasn't illegal. And I've had it for nearly 4 years. Now, I don't know much about cars. I'll be the first to admit it. So on my way home, I called my husband and told him about it. He told me that he's taken my car to Valvoline for the past 3 years and it's passed inspection every time. When I got home, I went to the department of motor vehicles website and looked up inspection specifications for the brow tint. I may not know things, but I can google them. According to the website, you measure the brow tint from the inside of the vehicle. Not the outside. When measured from the inside, it's less that 5 inches. When he got home, my husband took my car to another shop in town. They agreed it was perfectly within inspection guidelines and they passed my car. I'm livid. I feel like my time was wasted and it was taken advantage of that I didn't know anything about cars. Because I would HATE to think that they don't know inspection guidelines at Valvoline. And if they don't, I definitely wouldn't trust them to do anything under the hood of my car. From here on out, we will be taking our vehicles anywhere else. read more

Today I got a few services done. The crew was so fast and efficient and gave good feedback. One of the crew members gave me a life hack on my cabin air filter to help my truck smell good. I was concerned originally on the price being I got a lot of services done. But the price was very reasonable. Other places would have taken all day to finish just an oil change, but this crew and shop competed all assigned tasks at a reasonable pace without deterring performance. The crew were communicating with each other like they were on a pit team haha. Great job yall. read more

i didn't want to put any stars because I don't think they deserve any with the unprofessionalism that one of their employees did. I get that people make dumb jokes and all that, but when you are at work and you do something disrespectful, you would get reprimanded for such behavior from your manager. I know this to be true because I used to work in retail. So story time...my husband went to get his oil changed today. When he went to the car wash right after his oil change, he saw that whoever did his oil change wrote " box" inside the hood during the process. So he went back to the shop to complain of this unprofessionalism. And they just gave him a card with their manager's phone number. Suffice to say, we are definitely not going back to this shop. If this is the level of "care" and "work ethic" that they display, who knows what else they do to people's cars in their service. Truly unprofessional behavior. read more

0% customer service it took me 1:30 hour to change my car oil , they are doing wrong advertisement 15 min oil change i can understand it was a busy day but when they started changing my car oil that took almost 30 mins and in the end i asked them to scan coupon they said its for full synthetic oil change you cannot use that one if you bring your own oil and he said if you have conventional coupon they can scan that one than i gave them conventional oil change coupon they didn't even took care of it. Manager said its from company if its not working its not working i cant do anything even tho he told me next time if you want to go any other location thats fine but we cant do it ... pathetic service i don't even wanna give them 1 star .. Pick your poison. Incompetent and/or dishonest. It's one of the two. Refused a state inspection due to windshield tint. I dont have windshield tint. Went right down the street and measured VLT through the windshield of over 70%. Valvoline - this is what happens when you do not properly incentivize performance of staff, they would rather sit and collect a check than work. It's not my bottom line it's yours, but I would rethink employee incentive system here. read more

These people were terrible I get there. They told me when my car won't start. And I'm even alternator and they need 500 almost $600 to fix braves. She guys did my rotors last year, December 23 and they're like oh well because the pads that were on your brakes were toothache and missed up the rotors. So now you need new rotors again, so the brake pads stay put on my. Breaks some rotor's last year.Is what messed up my supposed rotors and now my car?Well not start because I guess I need an alternator because I went there.And then when they give me the keys to my car, my car smells like fish.I do not eat fish.This was one of the worst experience.I'm a 65-year-old woman.They took advantage of me.Please do not go to this place.God bless you read more

Do not recommend coming here for an inspection. Seems that they will find any reason not to do them, whether the person didn't show up to work that day, there's over an hour wait or you have a quarter inch of tint past the required line. Mostly understaffed. Just poor experiences over here. read more

Shout out to John the manager at Valvoline in Tomball! I came in for an oil change because my "oil change needs to be done soon" notice came on in my car. I thought it was odd because it was only about 2k miles since my last oil change in California. Well, John saw this in their system and asked me about it and also saw that the oil change note was not reset in the cars system. He checked the oil for me, saw that it was still clean and good to go so no oil change was needed. He put a sticker in my windshield for another 3k miles to go, made sure the electronic note was reset and sent me on my way. Thank you John for looking at my maintenance record online, and not doing an unnecessary oil change. I appreciate you so much and Valvoline in Tomball has earned my business going forward. I was initially excited when I saw this place was open, but I left completely disappointed after wasting ~3 hours of my Saturday dealing with problems they created. I came here for an oil change on my wife's car. The brake light was out so I asked them to change it. Instead of changing out the brake light bulb, the manager changed out the turn signal light bulb (which was working fine). Before I left, I asked the gentleman helping me if my brake lights were good because the brake light bulb notification was still on, and he told me that both lights were working. When I got home, I saw a loose bulb sitting in my tail light housing. The bulb must have popped into the housing when they were replacing it, and they didn't tell me. They just installed another one, and left that one sitting in the housing. They either think it's completely acceptable to drive around with a bulb bouncing around in the housing or they don't care enough to inform the customer. Mistakes happen, but you should at least be honest about it. I went to remove the installed bulb so I could fish out the loose bulb, but the bulb they installed popped right into the housing as soon as I twisted open the socket. I then spent an hour fishing out both bulbs from a quarter sized hole in the housing. It was obvious looking at the bulbs that they were not the correct ones because the notches on the bulb did not line up with the grooves in the socket. I drove back to Valvoline a second time to ask them for the correct bulb. They said they didn't have them which is why they installed the incorrect bulb. They said they thought it would fit. I asked for my old light bulb back (which was still good), but they had already thrown it out! I asked for a refund on the $6 bulb install, but the manager had left and they couldn't get a hold of him to sign off on the refund. The manager on shift later called me in the day to let me know he had approval, so I went back a third time to Valvoline to get my refund. To sum it all up, my brake light is still out, and now my turn signal light is also out. I went to the auto parts store to get a bulb, but it'll be a few days before they get one so now my wife has to drive without a functioning turn signal light. read more
